Seems we are the last generation to witness fireflies. When last do you see them?

I was thinking about these bugs few days ago and I struggle to remember when last I saw them.

To be fair their active window is only a few weeks. But the sad part is, there are way less than before so you don't see them all summer like when you were younger, just those few weeks they are trying to find mates. And they do overlap still so you could see weeks without any then you'll see some again. 

We are in the Late Wave (Photuris): These are typically the largest fireflies, arriving as mid-summer peaks. They produce a brilliant, intense green light. Females of this group are famously known as "femme fatales" because they mimic the flashes of other species to lure in and eat the smaller males.

Did you know there are over 150 species of lightening bugs in North America alone!
