NATURE Seems we are the last generation to witness fireflies. When last do you see them?

I was thinking about these bugs few days ago and I struggle to remember when last I saw them.

I recently moved back to the Midwest from the east coast and I’m seeing some fireflies in the evening for the first time in a while. It’s nice. I don’t know if it’s indicative of a positive change or just a fluke but I hope the numbers keep growing.

I'm in NC and we have fireflies. We call em lightnin' bugs.
