The implosion of the Titan submarine (OceanGate) was so rapid that the pain wasn't even registered by the brain. They didn't feel anything at all. Utterly instantaneous.

The public, including the news, did not know they were dead for four days as the navy searched for them. Everyone knew it was missing, but nobody knew what "missing" meant until they found a few pieces of wreckage from exterior parts 4 days after they went radio silent.
