The implosion of the Titan submarine (OceanGate) was so rapid that the pain wasn't even registered by the brain. They didn't feel anything at all. Utterly instantaneous.

I've seen this a lot and I still have trouble appreciating it. It's as if my brain just casually equates it to crushing a can. I've seen those tankers, I know they're big, but somehow I remain unimpressed, unable to take in the magnitude.

They're like 3/8ths inch steel, right?

3/16 to 1/4 of an inch carbon steel, but At 1 psi. Titanic wreck depth is 5500-6000 psi. I imagine that does something to the speed of it
