The implosion of the Titan submarine (OceanGate) was so rapid that the pain wasn't even registered by the brain. They didn't feel anything at all. Utterly instantaneous.

The OG sauce. That wild scenario aside, our modern world has a whole lot of things goin' on with such extremes and intensities of speed, power, pressure, etc. that can make our puny fleshy bodies just fffffpt in a snap. The Byford Dolphin diving bell accident is another infamous example.

Damn, the Medical Findings read like a Quentin Tarantino movie scene.

"The postmortem suggested that bubble formation in the blood denatured the lipoprotein complexes, rendering the lipids insoluble.

The cavitation bubbles cooked the fat out of the blood, talk about unlocking a new achievement in the craziest ways to die.

And then this

With the escaping air and pressure, gross dismemberment ensued; it included bisection of his thoracoabdominal cavity, which resulted in fragmentation of his body, followed by expulsion of all of the internal organs of his chest and abdomen, except the trachea and a section of small intestine. These were projected some distance from the bell, with one section being found 10 metres (30 ft) vertically above the exterior pressure door.

Don't look at it, trust me. There are some animations of what exactly happened without the gore if you're really curious but suffice to say it's nightmare fuel.

Hopefully they were gone before they realized what was happening. That right there is why that career path pays extremely, extremely well.

i usually handle gore pretty good and it doesnt startle me a lot but im only in that situation when it catches me by surprise. 99% of the time i will refuse to look at it.

i really do not want to literally see what happened here, but i do want to know how it looked like

I don't want to ever witness that but at the same time I kind of do out of morbid curiosity.

The crazy thing is that it's so insane that I don't think a simulation showing it would be believable. Like it just simply wouldn't do it justice, it's hard for our brains to comprehend something so instant.

I can look at pretty much any photo. Though, I imagine that would be different if I knew the person. Otherwise, it takes video... and even then it takes sound unless the video is truly egregious.

Ive seen some crazy shit irl. The worst was probably the murder scene when I was 6. That's the only time I've seen someone that was killed. He was leaning on his steering wheel having been peppered in the back with a shotgun. It was half a block from home. I followed the first few cop cars and got there before they set up a perimeter. I was on the treelawn right next to the passenger door. I understood what I was seeing, but not the magnitude.

I was also severely abused. I had a bunch of friends die as a teen, and I was around to witness several severe injuries, So, I have experienced trauma first hand. So, maybe that's why pictures don't bother me.

Damn... like i understood each word properly, even the general concept of what happened. My brain just refuse to accept that that amount of damage can happen to a body just like that
