The implosion of the Titan submarine (OceanGate) was so rapid that the pain wasn't even registered by the brain. They didn't feel anything at all. Utterly instantaneous.

Nitrogenic asphyxiation.

The body can't actually detect a lack of oxygen, only an excess of CO₂. By slowly increasing the composition of inhaled air from 78% to 100% nitrogen, the brain will go from delirium to euphoria to comatose to inanimate without ever processing that something is awry.
