I am in town tonight for a work event and would love a spontaneous adventure.
Hey weirdos, creatives, nature lovers, and fellow spooky-season enthusiasts
I’m feeling a little social and thought I’d put this out into the Reddit void: is there anyone around town who’d be up for grabbing a drink later tonight, reading some tarot or going for a hike tomorrow before I leave town?
A little about me: I’m an alternative creative, musician with witchy tendencies, and an unreasonable appreciation for Halloween, creepy things, nature, and anything that feels a little magical or strange. I’m into art, getting outside, spooky shit, wandering around and finding interesting places, and generally appreciating the weird little things that make life fun.
Mostly, I’d just love to meet someone cool, have some good conversation, laugh at some nonsense, and share a little space with another human who gets it.
Not looking for a hookup or anything sexual — genuinely just looking to make a new friend / find a kindred weirdling and do something spontaneous. No maga.
If this sounds like your kind of thing, feel free to send me a message.
Let’s see what the Reddit universe sends my way. 🌙

I'm genuinely over Frank Burns - to the point that I would happily give my vote to a libertarian.
The trouble I'm having is finding ANY information online about if Rice actually has policy ideas, beliefs, etc.
All I'm seeing is that he is mega military and says "enough is enough" 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️ That means absolutely nothing in terms of a campaign.
Burns has publicly stated he will never vote to protect the lgbtqia community (and proven it through his record). He is also wildly racist but gets to claim ignorance.
He plays this county like a fiddle and I'm literally willing to vote for someone that vows to be better than him.

Hey, thanks in advance for reading. One of my family members is in the process of buying a house in Johnstown. They're moving from the philly area. The appeal was the stark contrast in the prices of homes, as they came across a good chunk of money and wanted to buy a house outright. They found that house and the sale is pending.
Here's the kicker. They don't want a job. They are under the impression that they will be able to survive on the remainder of this settlement (10kish) for at least a year. They own a vehicle, but aren't mechanically saavy. The house they purchased has been on the market for an entire year with multiple price decreases. They assure everyone they will be fine, but there is no family there and from what I understand, very little in the way of decent paying jobs.
Any insight from the locals? Is this actually feasible, or are they going to "find out the hard way" so to speak. Thanks again.

With sadden hearts we have decided to stop doing game nights affective immediately. We understand that a lot of people wanted to see this succeed and grow but with a lot of moving parts in the background we have decided that it’s our time to stop. We appreciate all the support and success we have had already. We ask that you please don’t give up on gaming and go support other games nights like Highland Community Library which is the First Friday of every month. Or SnakeEyes in Altoona which is every Sunday from 1-6. We wanted to do one final goodbye by giving away 4 games. We have two copies of Hummingbirds, a regular copy of Saboteur and a special edition of Saboteur. We will be going to the game night at the Highland Community Library on October 2, we will put every person who comes into a random wheel and do a drawing from that. So please come help us and celebrate one last time and please share with those who are not on Facebook so that way they know to come Oct 2 as well.

I live in windber and need to get rid of an old mattress that was in my basement when I moved to this house.
The problem is, my trash pickup does not offer bulk item pickups at all.
However, I was told that in the Johnstown area, they offer one free bulk pickup per month, you just have to call and schedule it.
I have bought a plastic mattress bag used for moving a mattress, is there any way I could convince someone to allow me to schedule a bulk item pickup with waste management, or whoever you use?
I would drop the mattress off a few hours from when your trash is picked up, and it will be covered in a plastic bag to ensure it does not get gross or rained on.
Even if you cannot help me, thank you for your time and have a fantastic rest of your day!

My water heater is almost worn out, and I'm trying to figure out if going tankless actually makes sense before I just replace it with another tank. My house was built in the 60s and the utility closet where the current heater sits is tiny, barely enough room to move around it, let alone service it easily. We're a family of four and mornings get rough when someone's in the shower and the dishwasher is running at the same time. Electrical panel is older too so I don't know if that adds complications on the install side.
I've had a couple plumbers come look at it but got pretty different opinions on whether it's worth it for a house this size. Anyone in PA who's dealt with this, was it worth the switch or did the older wiring and tight space end up being a headache?

I’m coming to stay in Westmont for about 10 weeks from Philly, so I’d like to know more about the area. Feel free to contribute with whatever you want, with anything from the things you like to do, to your favorite food spots, to what you think about your neighbors overall all the people in your area, what you dislike or like about the place. What are the demographics? Age groups? Overall vibes when you’re in the city? Tell me about your area feel free to include anything and thank you.

I'm giving away:
*Unused 2-person Eureka Timberline tent, in box.
*Used 2-person Eureka Timberline tent.
*Unused Osprey 70L pack.
* 1 and 2-burner Coleman gas lantern heads with carrying case.
I'm giving them away because I'm getting older and have to adapt my backpacking and camping to my capabilities. Not posting pics because you can easily look them up online. They're free because I want them to go to a good home, not a second-hand store. Contact me through Reddit if interested.

Anyone have any tricks for dealing with the bugs right now when outside? I practically had a swarm around my head the entire time today and they didn’t care about any sprays..

I posted a similar post about 4 months ago , I wanted to ask again if anyone was interested.
Before any comment ask, yes I'm part of the cambria county board gaming group, yes I've asked W&W, and yes I've asked few other surrounding game shops. If you're interested send a DM or let me in with a comment.
