Hey r/Kendama!
I've been playing kendama for a while and always felt like there was no good centralized resource to learn tricks in a structured way — so I built one.
Kendamapedia is a free web app that lets you:
It's completely free, works in your browser, and you can sign in with Google to save your progress across devices.
Link: kendamapedia-ae79d.web.app
I'd love any feedback — something that feels off, or features you'd want to see. This is a passion project and I want it to be genuinely useful for the community.
Happy to answer any questions!

🎬 r/Kendama Community Edit – Submissions Open!
Let’s make something sick together.
Hey everyone – I reached out to the mods and got the green light to put together an official r/Kendama Community Edit. I’ll be editing the whole thing, hopefully contributing a few clips of my own, and I’d love for as many of you as possible to be part of it.
Whether you’re new to Kendama or you’ve been grinding for years, this is for you. Please do not feel deterred from submitting clips, regardless of your skill level. My only ask would be that you send only your best or favorite clips from the 45 days.
🗓 Timeline:
Submissions are open now - Please no clips prior from today.
Deadline: September 15th (45 days from now) - Depending on volume of clips or feedback in the sub, I am comfortable with extending the date 15 more days, but I will start the editing process in 45 days.
Now for the good stuff.
🎨 Color of the Week (Optional!)
Every Monday I’ll post a color. Try wearing something (shirt, shoes, hat, kendama) that matches. Just for fun + visuals. Monday's color will be Red.
🌀 Style-Focus Weeks (Optional!)
Every Monday will have a trick theme (e.g., Lighthouses, Juggles, Flow, Slings). Totally up to you if you follow them, but it might help spark ideas or mix things up. Monday's trick theme will be Lighthouses.
🎥 Submitting:
Limit to start will be 3 raw clips per person, this can include a trick, funny moment, or a fail. I may up it to 5 depending on volume of clips around the 30 day mark.
Optional but helpful - If you are able to, include a cinematic (b-roll type clip) in addition to your trick submissions, it will help with edits. If you're filming in a cool location, maybe a 3-5 second clip showing the scene.
Please send primarily clips, I will most likely not feature many funny moments or fails but may be able to fit a few or have a section at the end of the video.
Upload your clips to Google Drive, Dropbox, or any other commonly known file site and DM me the link, or leave a comment and I’ll reach out. I can also download from YouTube directly.
Please include your name/Instagram/reddit if you want to be credited in the edit.
If you’re injured or unable to film at the moment but still want to be included, DM me — we can make space for an older clip or two, no one will be left out of this if they want to participate.
Let’s make this a proper snapshot of the r/Kendama community right now — all skill levels, all styles. Hope you’ll be part of it.
Please post any questions or thoughts in the comments, we can adjust things based on community feedback.
Much love,
– F1ByTheNumbers / Astro (gaming name)

As a magician, I’ve always been fascinated by the idea of bringing different forms of art together.
I only discovered kendama recently, but I quickly found myself captivated by its simplicity, beauty, and endless possibilities. The more I played with it, the more I began to wonder how I could combine it with the knowledge and experience I’ve gained from magic.
This effect is one of the results of that exploration.
The principle is actually very simple, but by adding a little touch of magic, I hope to turn a familiar kendama movement into something unexpected, visual, and beautiful.
I’m still discovering the world of kendama, and I’m excited to keep exploring this new passion—experimenting with simple ideas and creating new effects that bring together the elegance of kendama and the wonder of magic.
It’s a small creation, but one that brings together two things I truly love: magic and kendama. 🫶🏻❤️

Recently bought a maple ken set up from erratic squirrel. As soon as I took it out the package I noticed how different it felt from other maple kens I have gotten from other companies. It is very light (73g) and the wood is soft and easily dented. It also had a much rougher feel to it straight out the box compared to the smooth feel I have experienced from previous maple kens. I think this is a beech ken. Maybe Im trippin, let me know what you guys think.

Hi I just got my first 2 kendama mystery package from cereal. I’m trying to figure out what shapes I got based off the indicator on the bird stall, but I can’t even figure out what they mean. Mine have triple triangle shape (I’m assuming that’s the new trinity) and the other one has mountains.

This was my first time hitting part 1 and 2 of fish spesh consecutively. I slowed down the miss on the last one to show that I was actually close to the spike instead of just jabbing and hoping like I used to do. I did toss the tama in a way that makes it rotate inward instead of outward and that’s something I still need to work on esp with multiple juggles and late kens, but I’m super stoked on this level up regardless!

Hello everyone,
I was reviewing tricks in kendamanomics and someone uploaded a couple of tricks which were screen recorded from Instagram. The name of the kendamanomics account and the Instagram account kinda matched.
But I would reject them, because everyone can just create an account and screen record tricks of someone else.
So what do you think? Would you accept or reject? And if you would reject, for what reason would you do so? (I chose "inappropriate" because that seems the closest for me)
