I’m a CPM supporter but I think we’ve to give credit where it’s due. A major part of the success of any public initiative is in creating awareness among the public. And even though CPM govt had taken effective anti drug initiatives, registered cases and arrested culprits, the movement lacked an identity. Chennithala’s success is in giving that identity - making the threat and the consequences of drug usage/sales very clear to every Malayali.

And that’s also why I hope this movement becomes an even bigger success and takes action against people irrespective of the party they belong to. Hopefully Police moves forward in the investigation of VD’s aide who got caught in one of the bigger busts by Chennithala’s police.

Is it just me, or has shawarma shrinkflation gone completely out of hand across Kerala?

We used to get a solid, filling roll for around ₹100. Now spots are charging ₹160 - ₹220+ for a wrap that looks like a deflated cigarmostly stuffed with cabbage, watery mayo, and vibes, with chicken barely making a guest appearance.

Even ordering "full meat" feels like a ripoff for what shows up. At this point, buying a proper biryani feels way more worth the money.

Are you seeing this drop in size and quality in your town too, or have you just stopped ordering them altogether? What's your take?

Kids are supposed to be given Vit A doses every six months till the age of 5 from the govt vaccination centres.

Why is it not available now ?

We gave our kid their first dose 6 months ago and we were due for the next dose mid aug - it wasnt available in Kasaragod / Kannur Districts so we tried Ernakulam and Idukki districts as well - Not available.

These additional drops are not available in pvt hospitals and are only given at govt hospitals.

Why is there a shortage ?

The healthcare workers in immunization centre told me that its not available in any district in Kerala 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

So i found this passion fruit-kinda climber thing growing on a tree in our backyard. It almost looks like a christmas decor with many a red fruit hanging. Anybody got any info?

I'm getting married soon and considering creating an online RSVP system, but I'm not sure how practical it would be for a traditional Kerala wedding.

With lots of relatives, extended family, and family friends, I'm wondering if people would actually RSVP or just ignore it, respond through someone else, or show up with additional guests 😅

There are no emergency care facilities in our bloody " Palakkad Town" the best bet is AVITIS.. We all know how great the road to there is... Else take to Coimbatore / Perinthalmanna and pray nobody dies on the way? Seriously, why isn't anybody talking about this?

I recently visited vagamon after a long time.

The place has become a total dump.

Plastic waste are litteraly everywhere . Every nook and cronie is littered with home stay resorts etc..the old good viewing spots now have an eyesores of resorts in view.

paruthumpara has a resort in the main viewing area.

It has completely lost the charm of hill station.

We're promoting come to kerala in all social medias but our tourist places is losing the awe necessary to keep attracting tourist.

Are politicians now openly supporting misogyny?

As the title states. I met a malayali refugee for the first time in Canada.

He is a 50 something year old man who was a production manager in Oman. His mother got sick, so he left his job and went back to Kerala. The man is from Fort Kochi and says he is part Portugese. He has a wife and 2 kids back in Kerala.

He did not disclose the reasons behind his refugee status but says his relatives were hostile towards him. Says he built a house back in Kerala after coming back from Oman. Says he still has a huge debt to pay back towards the home loan and is barely making interest payments and is at the risk of losing the home.

The sad thing is because he is a refugee, he will never be able to go back and meet his wife and kids.

He does minimum wage jobs and his Oman experience doesn't count in Canada. He barely makes his ends meet. And because of his age, he isn't able to get any entry level job. He worked as a hotel receptionist and as a factory floor operator but is not able to hold jobs for long.

He is being evicted from his rented room as he occasionally has mental breakdowns and makes noises in the night which troubles his room mates.

I am a malayali but haven't been back for around 6 years. Never thought I will ever see a malayali refugee in my lifetime.
