I've got an offer from La Trobe with 30% scholarship for my undergraduate program for Semester 1, 2027.

I'm interested to apply for the 50% and 100% scholarships.

The results for those are announced around Mid-December.

Is there any way to get to know the results early?

I was going to do a bsc in 2027 with either a major in ecology or zoology. How does the quality of these courses compare to other unis?

I run a small creative agency making music videos, socials and promo content for independent/underground electronic artists across Australia.

We are currently looking for someone to do part-time voiceover work for our branded social media content going forward on an ongoing basis, paid per video ($20-30/video). The recordings are for platforms like instagram and tiktok, so are only 1-2 minutes length maximum. We will require roughly 1-2 recordings per week - so all in all, no more than 20-30 mins of work per week.

Not after a professional voice actor, just someone with a nice, chatty, conversational voice who's genuinely into music and keen to be part of it. (Think of it almost like a radio host or narrator role). The content you'll be recording will mostly be breakdowns and informative, conversational, radio-style discussions — talking through things like music branding, marketing, and how artists connect with their audiences - specifically in the electronic/dj industry.

USB microphone/recording equipment is preferred but not essential.

I applied for the MOT programme for 2027 Semester 1 entry in July. I know La Trobe has 3 application deadlines and offer release dates this year. I wanna ask anyone who received an offer from the first and second periods (1st period: around June; 2nd period: late August). How's your WAM/GPA? How good is Bachelor of Nursing for international students? I studied 3 years of medical technology in my country and decided to take Bachelor of Nursing in La Trobe Uni Bundoora. Any tips and tricks? TYIA!

I was originally planning to go into nursing straight from my Diploma of Health Science (ATAR wasn’t quite high enough), but I ended up loving a couple of health information management electives along the way. Just got my offer into the Bachelor of Health Information Management, which is great, but my diploma has given me credit for 4 subjects, 3 of which are first-semester units and 1 second semester. That means next semester I’m only enrolled in one class.

Is there a way to speed up the degree given this, e.g. summer/winter intensives, overloading, or applying for special permission to take second-year subjects early? Most of what’s left for me is actually second-semester, first-year content, so I’m wondering if anyone’s navigated something similar. Any advice on who to talk to (course advisor/faculty/admissions) or how these requests are usually worded would help too.

Hi everyone, I hope this post proves helpful. I'm just about to finish my law degree and wanted to share an AGLC4 citation generator that I released recently. Below is a more detailed account, but in short: it's free, a lot of effort went into its creation, and it doesn't use AI to function.

In my second year of law I handed in an essay I was certain was perfect. I had checked every footnote, determined not to lose a single mark to referencing. I was more annoyed than I probably should have been that it still came back with a couple of errors. After talking to my friends it was obvious that getting it perfect by hand, consistently, across an entire degree, is close to impossible.

So I started developing Pincite. I had two guiding principles No AI, and cover the whole of AGLC4.

My thoughts on AI

AI is a remarkable tool. I'll be the first to admit that if you ask an AI to generate citations, most of the time what you get back is good enough.

But, AI is by nature inconsistent. It cannot help but adjust things, because you never really know if an output is correct, you end up checking every single citation by hand. All the time you saved is now spent cross-checking, and stressing about if its actully correct.

That is why you won't find AI anywhere in Pincite. It's deterministic. There is nothing in it to change its answer, so an output that is right for one case will be right for every case. You only verify it once, not every time.

It Still Requires Thinking

Another thing, to use Pincite properly you still need a functional understanding of the AGLC4. It is not a turn off your brain tool. That's on purpose. Saving time, reducing stress and getting more accurate results is the goal, not replacing thinking or understanding.

Hey, I’m looking at studying Dental Health Science at La Trobe Bendigo and I’m trying to decide whether it’s worth living on campus for first year or living off campus.
I’ve heard that in first year you spend a lot of time at the teaching/clinical labs rather than on the main campus, or that it’s roughly half and half. Can any current students or recent grads confirm what it’s actually like?
I really like the Bendigo campus, but I wouldn’t want to live on campus purely for the social side if most of my classes are elsewhere. I’d still be happy to go to uni events and get involved even if I lived off campus.
Would you recommend on-campus accommodation for first year, or is living off campus just as practical? Also, roughly how often are you actually on the main campus vs at the teaching facilities?
I’m also from Melbourne, so I’m wondering whether it’s worth getting my driver’s licence before moving to Bendigo. Is having a car actually useful for getting between campus, labs/placements, shops, and going back to Melbourne, or can you manage pretty easily with public transport?

Okay so i need advice for this, i am in week 6 of a group project and Sunday is submission day of our work in the groupchat one of my teammates admitted to using Ai to create one of the two projects, i got really paranoid and put my whole project into ai checkers it came around like 14%? AI

My section only was the non-AI area but i am really paranoid now that the teachers would catch on to my teammates using AI and i would get in trouble aswell.

I have not used ai at all, not even the allowes limit (Ai planning only) but idk if the teachers would believe me about it i only have the groupchat msgs where only one person admits to it. The others just kinda avoided the topic (even tho their section came back with ai) i did reply back to that teammate and reminded them of the AI limit, and if they used ai somewhere else (i know they did) they need to check it over and fix it.

My three options are right now, tell the teacher in class or email about the cheating and risk getting outed, or i dint say anything and i get introuble if we get caught because these idiots didnt even bother paraphrasing or showing up to class. Or third option (most likely) i go and just fo their sections myself or shout at them to change it before sunday, and submit it without anyone getting caught.

Any advice would be appreciated, because i know for a fact if i tell on them i would get caught that i told (due to the proof) and i dont wanna risk the teacher not believing me that i didnt cheat in my section because its group work.

Hey everybody, I am currently in year 12 and I am interested in doing a double degree of arts/ health sciences, where I major in linguistics. I really want to be a speech pathologist, but I am unsure if I should just do a single degree of health sciences OR if I should also major in linguistics. But I don’t really know anything about majoring linguistics, like would it even help if i wanted to eventually become a speechie? I also would like to know more about the course, and what I’d be learning about. Also, would doing a single degree of health sciences be enough for a masters?
