News 26.17 Patch Preview

"Patch 26.17 Preview!

This patch is mostly a stabilization patch after observing the adjustments made on 26.16.

Mages bot overall have lost some amount of winrate across the board, but not a huge amount, which is roughly about the impact we're looking for.

So far, we're seeing good skews on Poppy and Camille support with support nerfed and Top skews playing out well (in particular).

We're still monitoring the impact of Hail of Blades on champions more broadly, eg. Yi, Trynd, Shaco, etc. Stormrazor"

"Directionally, Sundered Sky and AP Jungle changes have been good, but magnitude is still off

We're putting another small-moderate nerf in for this patch and hoping to see more movement on AP jungles and Sundered Sky dominance in higher levels of play"

yone buffs lmaoooo, legit S tier toplaner for 5 patches in a row

dbow yone with exhaust can legit statcheck 99% of the chars

Yeah this is demented bro. He was already difficult enough to punish early (when he’s theoretically weak). Why the hell did he need a buff

u/Background_Debate387 15d ago

Because yone reddit is adamant that if hes not allowed to walk up and auto someone down it's a bad matchup for yone and he's weak

Every main subreddit is like that tho

The Ksantemains subreddit (a champion that sucks by every measurable metric) is actually in a deep denial hopecore phase where the remaining 12 guys encourage you to play it and the stats don't matter.

I am uncertain what the crossposting rules are on this sub, but here's an example post. Shout out to those guys, they will not Yield.

the vibes on that sub are very weird ever since the last rework that completely butchered his fluidity :(

I think they've just accepted that he will never be balanced (buffed) for soloq, so you can either ignore the stats or leave.

Yeah I left a while back. I don't even care about him not being buffed for solo queue, I would have been just fine with his numbers being hard nerfed but them not making him feel so fucking clunky. When they literally doubled his all out Q cast time it made playing him feel like you had perma input lag, regardless of them giving him stupid amounts of AS to 'compensate'. Rn he's far stronger early game but why would I care about that when actually playing him just feels mechanically unpleasant

A lot of main subreddits are quite like that, but some just weirdly admit that their champs are okay or even broken. (I got very surprised by people in the Azir main subreddit saying that they are okay with his state or he is strong.)

On the other hand, some main subs are like religious groups hoping and praying every day that some rioter gods see their posts and bless their champs with buffs.

Yone mains? idk man. I just try not to engage with them.

Personally, I've felt more difficult facing the Dshield fleet second wind Yones than the dbow Yones though, so I just hope that the buffs don't revolve around his sustains.

Except for r/draven

They scare me

it becomes a lot of worse when people play carry champions (especially carry tops). I think due to how volatile top is, they think that unless their champ can faceroll everyone in lane, it's weak.

u/Asckle 15d ago

I mean I agree Yone is op rn but obviously a champ with exhaust can stat check that's the point of exhaust. There's basically 0 top laners who can't stat check with exhaust and damaging items

7

u/Anonymonamo 15d ago

Exhaust is good for prolonging fights, which is disproportionally good for Lethal Tempo stackers like Yone or Vayne. Even if Ambessa goes Exhaust, her cooldowns are so long that she can’t really get that much more damage out of the extended fight, so it’s usually more worth to have Ignite so that your first rotation is more likely to kill.

1

u/Asckle 15d ago

No more than for Conq stackers. Again, you can literally take exhaust on Zaahen and stat check people. Zaahen with conq exhaust stat checks Sett early game. And Zaahen is a weak early game short trading champ

1

u/Anonymonamo 15d ago edited 15d ago

I mean, not all Conq stackers have short cooldowns like Yone or Zaahen’s ramping passive. Some do, but Yone is definitely one of the ones that benefit the most from an extended fight; to add to this, Lethal Tempo is much stronger early game than Conqueror (and alternative runes like Grasp, Electrocute, etc). I would challenge you to find any champion that can go both Conq and Lethal Tempo who’d be stronger with Conq in a level 1 all-in.

4

u/Asckle 15d ago

Most top laners have pretty good all ins. The ones that don't, yeah of course can't run exhaust. They're balanced around that in other ways.

I would challenge you to find any champion that can go both Conq and Lethal Tempo who’d be stronger with Conq in a level 1 all-in.

The premise of this question already removes all the options lol. Obviously if you remove champs like Sett from the equation who take Conq specifically because it's better you will be left without anyone. But a level 1 sett with Conq still easily stat checks a level 1 Yone with LT

1

u/Anonymonamo 15d ago

I’m not sure ”most” is true, and you originally stated that there’s ”basically 0 top laners” that can’t do the same thing. Off the top of my head, Renekton, Ambessa, Camille, Garen, Aatrox and more are all pretty bad at stat-checking early with exhaust. Some of them counter Yone, but none of them can match Yone in a level 1 all-in. Yone is definitely above average in this regard, though dedicated level 1 champions like Darius or Trundle or Sett are typically better.

1

u/Asckle 14d ago

3 of those are short traders so yeah they don't get big all in power. But of the top laners who do all in, almost all will also stat check with exhaust, they just tend to run ignite because the lower CD lets them get kills more. Yone doesn't run ignite as often because he needs the stronger sum since his early game is weaker.

I also dk why people bring up level 1 all ins now all of a sudden. D bow Yone is weaker in the level 1 than D blade. D bow outperforms at level 2 because of the W cast time and CD reduction

u/baebushka 15d ago

yeah except he's meant to be a late game scaling champ but just has the luxury of very good laning with exhaust dbow lol, this games balancing is legit all over the place

8

u/claptrap23 Frozen Mallet enjoyer 14d ago

he is not a late game scaling champ. you get that feeling bc he is absolute garbage early until he can get some AS

3

u/Asckle 15d ago

He's not. He's meant to be a lightly scaling skirmisher. Rioters themselves have said this

And no, being able to win all ins with a 3 minute CD summoner spell is not a good laning phase. Just because he's not literally Kayle doesn't mean his lane is strong. If it's an issue, just take exhaust yourself and stat check him like usual

0

u/QuiGonTheDrunk Make scaling great again 14d ago

When can Yone statcheck?
Is it level or item spike dependent?

3

u/Asckle 14d ago

Items. Yone's level scaling is atrocious. But he doesn't really stat check in General these days as all his damage is in his Q and his autos got nerfed a lot. You can still beat him when behind if you play well on a duelist champ like Camille or Fiora or Jax. That's why exhaust is so good on him, it makes dodging Qs impossible.

But exhaust is broken anyway. It and ignite need to be nerfed but exhaust in particular needs a redesign to being less strong but having a lower CD. Rn it's an auto win on most champs who take it and you have to play this weird game of chicken to bait out the exhaust before going in

What data are u looking at to say yone is a s tier top? Cursory check on op.gg and u.gg have him mid tier

15

u/baebushka 15d ago

lolalytics

-13

u/whossked 15d ago

I do agree a yone buff is unnecessary but I wouldn’t take lolalytics’ letter rankings at face value. Morde and yorick have a higher wr than him this patch but the website gives them B-

16

u/Praius 15d ago

yeah because pickrate and banrate are also important to take into account, not just winrate

19

u/Wiindsong 15d ago

yeah but yone and yasuo have always had inflated banrates. There has been points where yasuo was listed as an S character on lolalytics despite him being a 46-47% winrate because his pickrate and banrate are always high. He's just a really popular champ, i don't put much stock into lolalytics' tier ranking, its really bad.

7

u/whossked 15d ago

Patch 16.16, Emerald+. Order WR, PR, BR

Yone top: S tier. 51.45%/7%/7%(this is banrate is shared with yone mid)

Garen: S- 53.3%/7%/6.4%

Mordekaiser: B- 51.51%/5.6%/10.4%

Yorick: B- 51.8%/3.5% PR/7.4%

You could argue morde’s lower pickrate could play a factor, but enough to push him down so many letter rankings? But then why does Yorick hold the same letter rank as him despite the lower PR and BR? How does Garen lower than yone make any sense?

Not trying to say yone is weak, he’s the strongest he’s been in years, just that lolalytics’ letter ratings can be misleading

1

u/Praius 15d ago

I assume they take into account the higher mastery winrate, since yorick has a higher 'one trick' winrate than morde, but yeah I mean I don't trust lolalytics letter ranking either, I just meant in general people tend to only look at WR to determine strength rather than account for pickrate, banrate or impact of mastery.

2

u/Infusion1999 15d ago

I don't think they have access to higher mastery win rates either. What they have on the leaderboard is the win rate of the best players who happen to play the champ, not the average win rate of a Yone player who has 300 games on him

1

u/papu16 Wholesome and balanced class enjoyer 15d ago

He is like top 1-2 most picked toplaner in the game rn. If he gets even small lead via gank - you aren't allowed to be on the same lane as him, bc dude gonna all in you every time his E is up.

He already got buffed last patch. +5% AS from Berserkers, and Fleeting Footwork is viable again, making some difficult matchups much more manageable. He feels strong already this patch, what are they even thinking?
