News 26.17 Patch Preview

"Patch 26.17 Preview!

This patch is mostly a stabilization patch after observing the adjustments made on 26.16.

Mages bot overall have lost some amount of winrate across the board, but not a huge amount, which is roughly about the impact we're looking for.

So far, we're seeing good skews on Poppy and Camille support with support nerfed and Top skews playing out well (in particular).

We're still monitoring the impact of Hail of Blades on champions more broadly, eg. Yi, Trynd, Shaco, etc. Stormrazor"

Stormrazor

"Outside of Stormrazor Jhin, it doesn't have a large user base and we think it could have more power overall to broaden the user pool"

Sundered Sky

"Directionally, Sundered Sky and AP Jungle changes have been good, but magnitude is still off

We're putting another small-moderate nerf in for this patch and hoping to see more movement on AP jungles and Sundered Sky dominance in higher levels of play"

Not a fan of recent patches in general.

Nasus & Graves Nerfs are direct reactions to their buffs from last patch that literally everyone called out to be too much.

Cho has a 52% Winrate in Jungle. A Sol a 53% Winrate on Bot and is fine Midlane. Yone is S tier on Toplane alrady. Yasuo & LeBlanc sit at 49% Winrate which i also think is totally fair for those kind of champions.

Patches are already fairly small (5-10 champion adjustments) and usually half of those turn out to be stupid.
Patches either have no big impact or they mess up like with the Bel'Veth reshape.

Bigger patches are also mainly for proplay, so SoloQueue always feels shitty then.

Tbf Aurelion isnt good midlane atm. Like he has 0 early game.

winrates on champ that have like 3% playrate dont mean much, its played by mains so naturally the winrate is good

3% isn't even that low. That's a higher pickrate than most of the roster.

August has talked about this a couple times and TLDR its just not true. Almost every champ is played by enough first timing or low exp players to offset their mains, and some champs are notable as an exception to that like Katarina. IIRC he even talked about old ASol being an example where him climbing up to 53-55% winrate constantly wasn't just him "only being played by mains", he was just still strong even after nerfs even at ~1% pick rate.

Mains don't affect win rate at all EXCEPT for Katarina who gains a tiny little boost, as stated by Riot. There's always enough casuals and first timers that average out the win rate, even with drastically unpopular champions.
