guide How to Install Unofficial Patch for Vampire The Masquerade - Bloodlines on Linux using Protontricks (GUI Guide)

I have created a guide and published it on steam community for, see the above title.

Just posting a link to the guide here to make it easier later on for folks to find it if they go googling this.

This guide is "Steam Deck friendly", uses the Flatpak version of Protontricks, and required no terminal commands.

In the past you also needed WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dbghelp=n,b" for the unoffical patch to fully work. Not sure if that is still the case, but you might want to double check that all the fixes/changes form the patch are active. IIRC there was also a readme specifically for Wine.

I tested this method and had a friend test it on a different distro and it seemed to work fine, no issues so far.

IT WORKS!!! Time for that Nosferatu playthrough I never got around to!

One very small thing to note: When I opened protontricks for the first time it would not show VTM on the list of games. This happened because protontricks only recognizes games that have been launched through Steam at least once, meaning that you have to run the game once through Steam (even if it won't launch) before protontricks recognizes it.
