I just wanted a hot dog Recommended gratuity after tip was already included

I’m sure there are a lot of tipping posts here so to keep it short - I had my wedding at a fancy restaurant. On top of the TERRIBLE service, the bill came with “suggested gratuity” even though I was told gratuity was included. When I asked the manager, he said that the “S/C: 24% SRC REGULA“ was the included tip and the suggested gratuity was if we wanted to add something extra - basically trying to trick people into giving a 49% tip!

The average wedding reception is like 100 people on the low end. For catering and open bar for 100 people including veal and scallops? 61 and change per person isn’t bad.

OP said it was for 28 people. So it's pricey, no question. Not wildly expensive considering it's a wedding event with open bar, but still.

For veal, scallops, and open bar for 4 hours that's only $215ish a person. I spent nearly $150 a head for beer and wine only and chicken and rice at my wedding. And it was a weekday package like 7 years ago...

This thread is full of cheapskates, kids, and bitter people. I’ve paid $50/person buying supplies for a cookout before. You treat your guests, and a wedding day is a good time to do that. $6k for two professionals is very manageable.

$160 for a bottle of prosecco? That shit is $15 at any grocery store. There is no "fancy" prosecco. That's called champagne.

This is an insane bill top to bottom.

Probably Botte presco which are 160 a case so you can order them for a group of this size of 26 top table and multiple bottles go around the table

Especially looking that it's especially for a wine toasting so yeah multiple bottles

  2. It’s charged as “prosecco toast” which is probably a pour for every guest. Iirc OP said 27, so ~$6 per pour. Usually they also keep refilling if there’s multiple speeches requiring toasts.
