This has been debunked. Someone used an overlay on the original even added time https://www.newsnationnow.com/crime/unable-verify-enhanced-nolan-wells-audio/amp/

0

u/Informal-Money-1518 29d ago

Nope. The audio engineer came out and said she just used EQ to cut out noise. Nothing else.

6

u/goddessmaree96 29d ago

That "auto engineer " is a Karmelo Anthony supporter a kid who killed another st a track meet. She's very bias - and removing background noise wouldn't add time lol he said it was completely different digital content.

1

u/Informal-Money-1518 29d ago

And those kids are Tatum supporters. One of the most racist people towards blacks on the internet. Him of all people is who they chose to interview with. Plus Karmello defended himself against a bully

3

u/goddessmaree96 28d ago

Isn't he black ? Why is it when someone holds all people accountable it's racist. Anyhow not here to debate, the real truth is what's going to matter. And the same people who support kids like Carmelo Anthony are only even talking about this case because it comes with a narrative.

Lol, and you're proving my point there was zero proof either twin was a bully. He stabbed somebody at a track meet over a push, and you're in these comments trying to justify it.- don't act like you're against kids killing each other when you support it if the narrative is right.

1

u/Informal-Money-1518 28d ago

“Isn’t he black”. Are you remedial? Like that negates him from being one the most bigoted person on the internet? Towards black people? “Hold all people accountable “ Why doesn’t he hold all of these White P3dos accountable? It’s because he’s a race grifter like Charlie Jirk and others. Anyone with an actual brain would realize this. And that’s who Nolan’s so called FREINDS out of all people interviewed with? Wow

3

u/goddessmaree96 27d ago

You're calling accountability racist. nobody cares. & Huh ? You know 1 in every 100 bm are on a registry and 1 in every 200 white men are. They should all be held accountable

You're grown man who leads your youth to the prison system instead of teaching them there is a better way. Nobody takes you serious.

No, we don't take you and your skewed statistics seriously.

ABC News reporting witnesses described him as drunk on island. The Wells family can’t wrap their head around the fact that Nolan, a kid with a good head on his shoulders, and a bright future, died after getting drunk and swimming in rough waters. Murder gives his death a meaning that a dumb self inflicted stupid mistake never ever will. This is just denial. Of course extortionists and evil scum like Ben Crump will step in to inflame tensions and make a couple of million. This animal is already trying to sue people for wrongful death so he’s heavily invested in his own narrative even if it’s pure BS.

3

u/SamsonFox2 Jul 30 '26

All the way back in college I went to a swimming class for absolute beginners with my classmate from high school.

I sucked, but he sucked way worse.

Fast forward two years, and that guy (aged around 20) drowned in a river while swimming with a relative. Apparently, the relative swam away, he tried to catch up, drowned, and his body was found two weeks later in the middle of a summer.

His parents could not process it either, hired a detective who dug up a bunch of nothing, but sold them on "leads". Not sure what those leads were, but second hand I feel that he milked a grieving family.

People drown all the time. I know for a fact that he was an awful swimmer compared to me, an awful swimmer. It is very sad that he died, but water is a bitch. And, worst of all, there's really nobody to blame.

Sucks all around.

2

u/FewCryptographer6899 Jul 29 '26

Distraction is a tool people use when they want to hide the truth or avoid accountability. We already expect that. Our focus stays on the real goal: building the truth and defining justice. No noise, no confusion — just the work in front of us. Thank you for highlighting that point.

1

u/Former_Jellyfish_594 Jul 30 '26

Ok name calling like that completely distracts from your argument.

I've listened to the call several times. I hear "is it dead?", presumably taking about the defective bilge pump that's allowing the boat to take on water. Also, the call took place at 4:31. Nolan's mother has stated that they have pics of him timestamped at 4:30 walking around on the island, but everyone seems to be ignoring that part.

37

u/FuguSandwich Jul 28 '26

If you've ever been in a boat, it's pretty obvious that "did we cover it up" and "I already thought about that" is referring to the intake screen for the bilge pump, it's the first thing you check to make sure the water intake isn't blocked, "is it dead" and "we killed it" is referring to the bilge pump not getting power. They're literally on the phone with sea tow who is trying to help them troubleshoot it before sending someone out.

27

u/Jeff-JustJeff Jul 30 '26

You have to understand that just because you are capable of rational though doesn't mean the racist, bigoted clowns that are pushing this nonsense are.

u/Snoo_33033 Jul 29 '26

I feel like a lot of the recent gotchas are just people displaying how little they know about boating. I'm all for a thorough investigation, but people who've never seen a boat in their lives trying to make something nefarious out of backing out of a tow is laughable to anyone who's ever been threatened by being charged with one.

Also, and I say this as someone who grew up with a boat...they're somewhat plug and play, but sill a little tricky if you're not familiar with all the switches. I just rented a Seadoo boat, which is not a real boat, and even that was just a little different than the controls I'm used to. I can see a ton of opportunity for them to freak out due to pure ignorance and then get helped back into not needing a tow by the granddad and sea tow.

1

u/Immediate-Candy-2842 26d ago

What about the gtfu? And a girl screaming Nolan?

1

u/LingonberrySalt9693 20d ago

Wake the fuck up is pretty common when someone is being a dumbass and not doing what they are supposed to in a situation.

Nobody ever yelled Nolan that I heard.

1

u/Disastrous_Wafer4214 18d ago

All while the grandfather was simultaneously on the phone with the coast guard canceling the call. Leaving a trail for their alibi. I don’t believe the boat was actually even sinking.

23

u/jm0112358 Jul 28 '26

I don't even hear that.

Different people hear different things in that call. In general, we should all be skeptical when trying to find patters in poor-quality media because our brains are pattern-seeking machines can often find patters (that aren't actually there) in vague stimuli.

21

u/throw_blanket04 Jul 28 '26

You have to put the situation they are in w the boat, in context to the recording. I have heard several things that were out right lies by the woman who the recording out. At the end he isn’t saying ‘get the fuck up’. He is saying ‘SHUT THE FUCK UP’. Because he is on the phone w seatow/sheriff/coast guard. Whoever he is talking to. And mind you, they wouldn’t be calling for the cops to come out there if they just killed someoe!!! People that keep posting snd pushing this misinformation have probably never even been to the island, seen the island and especially on a holiday. They have zero idea what they are talking about. If a boat of young boys is in distress on the island, there are probably 2 dozen people at their boat trying to help them.

6

u/Miss_Scarlet86 Jul 28 '26

Yeah I clearly heard shut the fuck up and it sounded like the person making the call was the one who said it to the people around him.

7

u/Former_Jellyfish_594 Jul 30 '26

They are sinking. In a panic. They may be bad friends. But Nolan is on the beach when the call was made. His Mom is right. He was left behind. Now, what happened? Also why are we still talking about the kids on the boat? If he was on the beach. Is t anyone focused on all the people on the beach. Dozens of people!

6

u/burner_ohallahan Current Resident Jul 30 '26

Left behind or left his friends to fend for themselves in an emergency? Wording matters and used to ilicit emotional responses. We now know he was given multiple opportunities to get on the boat and he declined. The framing as being left behind vs a grown person made the decision to stay behind is wild to me. Especially being local and knowing first hand how common it is for people to "boat hop". It is one of my favorite people watching activities when we are on a sandbar.

3

u/Miss_Scarlet86 Jul 31 '26

I have wondered if part of why he chose to stay was because the boat was having problems and he didn't want to be on a sinking boat. I feel like I would have tried to find a different ride too if the boat I came on was filling with water.

2

u/Strange-Disaster5398 Jul 31 '26

To be fair we actually don’t know anything.

1

u/LingonberrySalt9693 20d ago

And who wants to be on a sinking boat anyway? lol.

1

u/LingonberrySalt9693 20d ago

I heard wake the fuck up at one point in the video too. It sounded more angry than panicked though. I've yelled that plenty of times in tense situations where I was depending on someone to do something important they were zoning out.

I can easily see me yelling that at my drunk friends/family if my boat is sinking and I need them to check something while I'm doing something else.

I never heard "he's dead" or "nolan"

3

u/Time-Act Jul 29 '26

that is true, for example i listened to the audio without looking at the supposed subtitles i could barely hear what was being said then again i d have bad hearing, however i listened again but this time i watched the subtitles as i heard the audio and it did sound like that is what was being said. in court however that audio would have to heard without that so it would be very conflicting on what a person could think was said

1

u/LingonberrySalt9693 20d ago

You could hear anything you wanted. I heard "Wake the fuck up" but it sounded like it was in reference to someone being distracted and not doing what they were supposed to. I didn't hear any reference to Nolan or anything else.

3

u/Ridry Jul 29 '26

Different people hear different things in that call.

Obligatory https://m.youtube.com/shorts/JbueQpmh_8A

2

u/LingonberrySalt9693 20d ago

Even funnier are the comments where there is 100 other things that you read and immediately hear.

3

u/shartymcqueef Aug 02 '26

And most people are fucking tarded. Don’t forget that super important part.

5

u/Tom-E-Foolery Jul 28 '26

Additionally, it’s been reported that more than one witness has placed Wells on the island at 6:00.

Videos and images taken while the boat was being towed show the it had seven people on it and Wells wasn’t one of them.

9

u/Crash831 Jul 28 '26

Honestly I feel like they want this to turn into a George Floyd type situation.

who is they? and why would anyone want that?

12

u/Crash831 Jul 29 '26

The people that are pushing to say he was murdered and trying to turn it into a race issue when it isn't. I don't know why anyone would want that, but they are trying to turn a tragic accident into a race motivated murder. Not sure why they want to do that either.

2

u/kaycopter0714 Jul 29 '26 edited Jul 29 '26

I don't think anyone "wants" to do anything but figure out what EXACTLY happened. there are plenty of incidents like this that WERE race issues- so for people to jump to to "race" conclusion isn't an insane leap. I don't think this is the case for Nolans tragedy. but to expect people to ignore the fact that race often plays a role is sort of.... unfair. again, because it often does.

for his parents- I can't imagine the rage, heartbreak, and denial (even if misdirected) that is fueling their grief. plus, the picture is still unclear...how can they accept that it was an accident when nobody has been able to tell them it 100% was. people are harassing Nolan's family for wanting answers, not cool. why so hostile toward the ACTUAL sufferers?

also want to add that much of the race discussion revolves around how the case has been handled thus far. when a black person is a victim, the case rarely moves with the same sense of urgency and care as if they were white. I can almost guarantee that if Nolan was white and friends were black, the case would have moved at a completely different pace and unjust arrests would have been made.

10

u/C4MPFIRE24 Jul 29 '26

Show your proof of this. Show 1 time something like this happened and the black friends were aressted with no evidence at all. Just 1 time. The issue with this cases is everyone is talking to the police and not a single evidence says thier story is a lie. So I ask again, Show 1 case like this with a white person with black friends that they made arrests without any evidence for it.

u/kaycopter0714 Jul 29 '26 edited Jul 29 '26

well lol.... instances like this don't happen to white friends of black people, nor did I say that that's happened before. so I can't show you evidence of THAT specifically, but I can show you evidence where black people were harmed by white people and no justice was had OR justice took some community push back (which is the point I'm making).there's actually like.... a lot of those cases lmao.

3

u/kaycopter0714 Jul 29 '26

would also like to add that there are a lot of instances where black people are arrested at the word of white people, sometimes even when the black person is the one who called the police. Not sure what world you live in where you think this doesn't happen....

but we're also sort of derailing from the topic at hand. what we're now talking about is a larger issues, not specifically Nolan. I was just pointing out that it's not absurd for race to be considered in his case.

3

u/notabotorabat Jul 29 '26

You mean like the recent case in the UK where a Shiek stabbed a white kid to death in an unprovoked attacked with his ceremonial blade that he is allowed to carry as a minority for religious purposes... but then called the cops on the dying boy and claimed the dying boy had called him a racist word and attacked him. You mean like that case?

→ More replies (0)

2

u/notabotorabat Jul 29 '26

You can't provide proof because your claim is bullshit. Every community has instances where justice felt denied, or the community had to push back or fight to get justice. You are an entitled child who uses instance of injustice that have happened to EVERYONE IN EVERY COMMUNITY to claim you are being specifically targeted and attacked.

3

u/Jeff-JustJeff Jul 30 '26

I can also guarantee YOU that if there were 4 black kids and 1 white kid this would not have made it beyond the local news. The very first thing that was accused before ANYTHING was even known was that the white boys lynched him with zero evidence whatsoever to suggest anything nefarious happened.

1

u/a_philosoraptor Aug 02 '26

Why was one of the families holding on to his phone, which had been wiped? There are questions here that do need answers.

1

u/Thorebore 29d ago

None of that is true.

1

u/Jeff-JustJeff 29d ago

Nobody was holding his phone, his friends contacted Nolan's mother to hand over the phone, and his phone wasn't wiped.

"They" is Ben Crump and Al Sharpton, and Wells parents (they keep on raising the goal of GoFundMe beyond 750K now) they are all in on the racial grievance grift. The want that because they profit from it, without it they are nothing. Just like the SPLC funding racist organizations because there is a lack of them and to remain relevant the NEED to make it LOOK LIKE this is happening.

3

u/ComprehensiveLet5863 Jul 30 '26

The “they” is the family, Crump, and Al Sharpton. It’s officially a money grab. The Mom created an estate that she is managing for the “the estate assets would consist “solely of claims for damages resulting from the circumstances surrounding his death.”. The independent autopsy was paid for, the funeral was paid for, and the go fund me has nearly $1M. Crump makes his money off settlements and Al Sharpton makes his money in some sneaky way. Both autopsies are inconclusive, the parents have had to walk back “lies” they stated in the first interviews. Nolan’s parents haven’t submitted his phone for forensic testing to get the meta data to see what they say was “erased”. Now the kids are being sued. For what? Who are they going to make money off of? Al Sharpton did the eulogy and demanded justice for Nolan Wells. What kind of “justice”. There is absolutely no evidence that anyone did anything to create “circumstances” around his death that should be sued. If Crump can’t ruin more lives, he won’t the millions he’s used to getting paid. Crump and Sharpton are on a campaign to pin this to someone so they can get paid and get more recognition to make more money. It’s sick!

1

u/HourNo7028 Jul 28 '26

Have the investigators stated who was the last person or people to see Wells alive?

6

u/IdidItWithOrangeMan Jul 29 '26

No. And I doubt they want to be named. I don't think anyone wants 1000 death threats in their inbox by morning.

1

u/SerenityBlooming Jul 31 '26

And no mom wants to have her online reviews lowered by all the evil people who have to decided to attack her during the worst time in her life - just because she is in agony and wanting answers.

2

u/IdidItWithOrangeMan Jul 31 '26

She is 100% not approaching this situation properly. Getting mad and lying to the point that Nolan's friends get death threats isn't right.

1

u/SerenityBlooming Jul 31 '26

I heard her speak at the news conference. Like any mom, as stated, she is wondering what happened to her son and wants answers. She is speaking her mind. Kids with powerful parents have immediately lawyered up, shut down, and it’s made it hard for her to get answers as to why she will never talk to or hold her son. Any mom would be cycling through the stages of grief.

Is she possibly wrong about every theory she has shared publicly? Yes. She’s left feeling that there’s a coverup in the absence of information. Is she on their parents’ business website trying to ruin them? No. No one is. Are people going overboard in their reactions, on both sides, though? Yes.

And, you might consider that seeing her as the enemy and refusing to understand her fears and reactions fuels the division. She just buried a son. And is getting death threats.

2

u/IdidItWithOrangeMan Jul 31 '26

She needs to accept facts. It's been almost a month. She needs to deal with her emotions and quit trying to ruin Nolan's friends' lives.

Literally all she has to do is come out and say. "I've seen photos of Nolan alive after these boys left the island. Y'all need to leave them alone. But that doesn't mean nobody else saw what happened. I still need to know what happened on that island"

She would be forgiven by the majority. Nobody blames her for making mistakes because of the grief. I blame her for lying the boys when she's seen the evidence proving their innocence.

Nobody seen him at 6pm why I say that because the boats leave because of the Tide way before 6pm and these witnesses didn't show up for weeks until the audio came out because they could not control SeaTow giving the audio to the news station. And they didn't realize it was being recorded while the music was playing at the beginning still recording

2

u/SerenityBlooming Jul 28 '26

His mom does not care if you sympathize with her or not. She would like her son to be alive. She is asking questions, as you would. She was told there was no foul play before an investigation even took place. No mom, no planet, would be okay with that.

9

She was told there was no foul play before an investigation even took place.

No foul play was suspected at the time that he disappeared.

Nolan’s mom said on Instagram that she has pictures of him walking on the beach around 4:30 pm. 4 pm is their audio with the tow company. 4:31 pm GPS data showed that the boat left Horn Island via a tow. There is also a video released by the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources of them being towed at that time. So Nolan was not with them.

Some people are using this tragedy to promote the toxic idea that blacks and whites can’t trust one another and thus should avoid interracial friendships.

It does not surprise me to see this level of misunderstanding in r/mississippi. The actual point that is being raised is that black people may not be safe in all white spaces. And the reason that is being said is because we have all of history to look at to prove it.

u/IdidItWithOrangeMan Jul 28 '26

This phone call actually happened before 4:30. They left the spot (according to GPS) at 4:31. They called around 4 if my memory hasn't failed me.

3

u/Far-Fill-3024 Jul 28 '26

I was wondering this too...what time was the call? The recording doesn't have a time stamp with it. I thought they said 4 as well, the gps shows the boat leaving at 4:31. Thank goodness they had a gps. Honestly after this case, it's a good idea to have some kind of dash cam too like cars do if you have a boat.

2

u/IdidItWithOrangeMan Jul 28 '26

It was right around 4. No exact time has been given.

I'd say I agree with you but this is a "Perfect Storm" of a story. If there weren't death threats flying like crazy and people and lawyers twisting the story, people wouldn't be scared to say "Yeah I saw Nolan at this time with XX person."

This is one of those 1 in a million chances.

1

u/throw_blanket04 Jul 28 '26

Do you know how long they tinkered w that boat before they called seatow? Probably close to an hour.

2

u/Far-Fill-3024 Jul 28 '26

Is that what they said? Warren's interview he said he was in the water, a girl came up to him saying his brother got into a fight. warren went to get his brother, brought him back to the boat. Got on the boat and that's when he saw the water in the boat.

1

u/IdidItWithOrangeMan Jul 28 '26

That sounds about right from what I've pieced together. Tinkering + getting the crew together + making phone calls.

1

u/gaussx Jul 28 '26

Where are the pics?

10

u/YaBoi843 Jul 28 '26 edited Jul 28 '26

The general public doesn't have the pics, but this is a post from Nolan's own mother stating she has received photos showing him walking on the beach.

Are you implying with your comment that Nolan's mom is also trying to cover up his murder?

0

u/gaussx Jul 28 '26

I’m saying why aren’t we seeing the pics.  Wouldn’t that genuinely be useful?  Everything about this case seems wrong.

8

u/IdidItWithOrangeMan Jul 28 '26

It would be. But they generally withhold evidence so 100,000 don't phone in with fake tips.

If you call in and say "I saw Nolan get murdered at 4:52" and the investigation team has a photo of Nolan walking around at 5:15, they know they can ignore your "tip".

It sucks for us civilians but it has to be done.

4

u/YaBoi843 Jul 28 '26

I agree it would be useful, but it doesn't change the fact that this is coming from Nolan's mother, and we have every reason to assume she has the best intentions for her son.

Questioning why we aren't seeing the photos Nolan's mom received, and saying this feels wrong implies that you think Nolan's mom is covering up her own son's murder.

Nolan wells died because of drowning. Not because of his friends causing it but him being a drunk teen having fun. Mistakes happen to the best of us. This race circle jerk of hating white people is getting annoying. This conspiracy is causing more division than it should be. You really want it to be a white person murdering wells so bad. It’s so weird because if the opposite happened that shit would be shut down

1

u/kaycopter0714 Jul 29 '26

why did nobody see him drown? he drowned alone? at a party?

3

u/orcmasterrace Jul 30 '26

Why did nobody see him get murdered if that’s your claim for a drowning being impossible?

1

u/kaycopter0714 Jul 30 '26

I didn't say he got murdered.

2

u/RenegadeSeraph Jul 29 '26

Because if it’s a boat party and everybody is talking drinking, trying to get sex and doing their own thing, nobody is paying attention to who is going swimming and going underwater and not coming back up

2

u/kaycopter0714 Jul 29 '26

fair point. I would expect everyone to at least have one person their linked to at a party. but I digress.

2

u/Saltytoadx Jul 30 '26

Adding on to their comment. I would highly recommend going to YouTube and watching some lifeguard videos on spotting drowning. It's incredibly difficult to distinguish half the time. Also drowning isn't a loud and lively event. It's usually quiet. Add all the drinking and possible rip tides and it becomes easy to miss someone drowning.

u/[deleted] Jul 30 '26

All these witnesses was claimed to have saw him at this and that time yet nobody knows or saw what happened to him that doesn’t even make sense

This reminds me of that old Seinfeld episode where George leaves his briefcase with a tape recorder in it in the charity meeting room and then he plays it back.

Please read this

Absence of water doesn’t rule out drowning. In roughly 10-15% of drownings, little or no water is found in the lungs. Laryngospasm (the airway reflexively clamping shut on contact with water) can cause asphyxiation with minimal aspiration. Cardiac arrest triggered by cold-water shock can also kill before much water is inhaled.

Presence of water doesn’t prove drowning either. A body submerged for two days, as in this case, can passively take on water postmortem. Decomposition in a marine environment further degrades the picture.

This is why forensic pathologists treat drowning as a diagnosis of exclusion: there’s no single definitive autopsy finding for it. They rule out trauma, natural causes, and intoxication (that’s what toxicology is for, not a side detail, but central to determining whether someone was impaired enough to drown), then consider circumstances. That’s also why “undetermined” after an independent autopsy is unremarkable here, and why the full picture waits on toxicology and histology.

So “no water in his lungs = murdered” isn’t how any of this works. It’s a movie-forensics take, not a real one.

Background, I am a life guard and rescue diver. Shock and heart attacks are common along with death by exposure.

Note:

Additionally, while it would not be a murder case. There could be a civil case if the parents could argue other parents were going their 18 year old aclohol. I think it’s pretty unlikely, they’d have to prove which parent out of the 30 kids were there was individually responsible which is hard, and they’d have to also prove they had zero idea there kid was going to drink at an event with 30 other young adults on an island with no supervision

Edit: I want to emphasize, if you know how to dead man float you can stay at sea for a long time without drowning as long as the surface is manageable. The issue though is that you’ll die of hypothermia and dehydration before you can swim back. Or the shock on your body can cause a heart attack(autonomic conflict) as mentioned your airway clamps shut.

So like water in the lungs is not conclusive, especially after your body has been out there for two days.

I don’t know if you saw those divers who died in the Maldives. We do have “cause of death” but it’s been like a month or two now and the investigation still isn’t done. The divers dived 200 feet down into a cave(suicide mission) and we still have not gotten a full report

1

u/freakydeku Jul 28 '26

what was the cause of death for the divers?

1

u/Jessiethekoala Jul 28 '26

This is interesting to me because it’s my understanding that “dry drowning” is quite rare and it’s far more common to inhale water when drowning (as a pediatric nurse who gets these patients if they’re resuscitated, that’s why we always see).

But I’m interested in what you said about water getting into lungs if you’ve been in the water for a few days. I only know about living people, but generally you have to create a fair amount of negative pressure to get anything down into your bronchial tree (be that air or water). A dead person obviously can’t do that. So how exactly does water find its way in there?

9

u/Far-Fill-3024 Jul 28 '26

Those boys are going to be able to sue a lot of people. Nancy Grace, Crump, anyone with a big following pushing this narrative. That call was at around 4. They left the island at 4:31. Nolan was alive at 4:30 and according to reports, people also saw him later at around 6. If that is all true, Nolan can't be on the boat dead at 4. The more likely situation is that the boat was dead and they were calling for help. They also were probably calling for Nolan because they had to leave.

2

u/Significant_Factor99 Jul 28 '26

They could, however I’m sure they just want this to end. Their entire lives are being ruined. They probably just want it to end.

3

u/Far-Fill-3024 Jul 28 '26

I agree, but there will likely always be suspicion around them. The Idaho 4 cases a lot of online detectives were blaming lots of people. One Tik Toker was accusing a professor. The professor sued and won a 10 million dollar judgment for defamation. I would want to do same, just to get it all out there that I had nothing to do with his death.

2

u/IdidItWithOrangeMan Jul 29 '26

As soon as the heat settles and it is clear they didn't do anything wrong, they will be ready for revenge. There is a judge mom and these are mostly from wealthy families. They won't meekly go into the night.

u/Infinite-Captain-667 Jul 29 '26

There aren't any bathroom facilities on that island. People have to walk out into the water to pee. He was drinking heavily and most likely walked right into a riptide or walked out far enough to where the bottom drops 20 feet. If people think a drowning person is out there waving their arms around and yelling for help, they're not. Drowning is silent. You're not using your lungs to yell, you're trying to keep your head above water. People drown all the time and even in pools all you end up seeing is a little kid at the bottom of the pool. Why try to turn it into something it wasn't? Race baiters at it again.

They should be ashamed and Nolan Wells mother lied about the three white kids and their parents not contacting her. shame on her for filing lawsuits on the day of her son's funeral. plus they have $850,000 in Go Fund Me money which no other drowning victims family ever received.

8

u/throw_blanket04 Jul 28 '26

The lawyers and family should be ashamed. They know exactly what they are doing by posting this because they have nothing else and all they can do is present something that is knowingly inconclusive. Just like the autopsy. They have ruined this poor souls legacy because they want to be infamous. They couldn’t care less about the truth. Shame!!

When I listen to Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven in reverse with subtitles, I genuinely hear satanic messages (even though I know that there are no satanic messages present). That's because our brains are patter-seeking machines that often find patterns in vague stimuli, even when no pattern exists. This is especially true when we are suggested that a particular pattern exists.

In this case, people who already suspect foul play often hear confirmation of that in the background chatter of this poor quality phone call, while those who don't already suspect foul play don't hear those same messages from the background conversation.

4

u/MiaBelise Jul 28 '26

I don’t hear that, but there’s so much distortion. It’s like a Rorschach test -people hear what they want to hear. What doesn’t make sense it why the guy would make a distress call about the boat, which was verified as having difficulty, right next to their dying friend and the other friends passively panicking about it.

2

u/doses69mimosas Jul 29 '26

I know the sound of guilt and I know the sound of deception and I could be totally wrong here—but I hear neither those in his voice.

6

u/cheri1957 Jul 28 '26

His funeral was disgusting, it wasn't a funeral, it was a racist rally. Everything is a money grab, using the racist card. Violent criminals like George Floyd, the stabbing at the football field, now this. My blood boils when the family and influences are making millions. LEAVE HIS FRIENDS ALONE, THEY ARE GRIEVING

Wow that took a turn. I mean I think he drowned but they are in a state where the chances of them being seen and treated equally as important - black teens - has been historically…unlikely. Imagine that boat filled with kids of color and one white kid got left behind and died. I think people would be convinced they killed him.

In my opinion this case would not have grown legs like this if their officials and police department had explained cause of death, mechanism, and manner. It would have settled the minds of ppl who feel they were dismissive to Nolan Wells death.

There is always an inherent risk in boating on any body of water. There is a greater risk when many other boaters go to the same location, and most everybody is drinking. The risk rises when you combine drinking, boating and swimming. The risk goes off the chain when a person stays behind, and drinks more. The risk becomes almost insurmountable when the person who decided to stay behind left his phone on a boat that has departed, and he continues to drink and get in the water.

What is it with you people always trying to cover up for something you don’t even know. Even if you feel the family is using race as an issue, they have a right to know what happened to their son. None of you knows what really happened to Nolan because none of you were there. NONE OF YOU. So stop saying he drowned. No one knew what led up to him being in the ocean other than the people at the island. There could have very well been foul play. And you all agree with everything his friends say as if you all were there and knew how he died. Of course if there was foul play involved they would not incriminate themselves and admit they harmed him. So stop with the racist victim blaming rhetoric.

The facts show he died under suspicious circumstances. 1. There was no need for him to give his friends his phone only to be left isolated on an island and no way to contact anyone. 2. And where is the supposed other group of friends he was supposed to ride back with, none of them have came forth, seems they don’t exist 3. The young lady he was with called his mother and advised her that Nolan left and did not stay with her. 4. On the audio you hear someone asking if he was dead. There is foul play written all over this. I pray his family gets the truth as to what happened to him and not the “oh he drowned cover up story.”

They made a call stating the boat was sinking however there are no reports they were rescued from a sinking boat.

1

u/Snoo_33033 Jul 29 '26

“You people?” Ok

1

u/Former_Jellyfish_594 Jul 30 '26

The thing is. I hear you but it’s a huge teenage party scene. It’s the opposite of isolated. Come to think of it why is t anyone asking why the state has an island designated for teen partying? That’s crazy!

-5

u/Silent-Can-9183 Jul 28 '26

I’m really weirded out, from the case, from the comments, but now especially this call. Why are people denying the very clear yelling of “Nolan!”, regardless of all other content his name was yelled, I think?

One way or another I am very angry and will end up angry over this case, either because I am actually being fooled and baited and this really was an accident, or my gosh it’s a cruel evil time

5

u/Apprehensive_Club_17 Jul 28 '26

Because a lot of new audio is ai generated

2

u/onlyinevitable Jul 28 '26

I think its because in the original audio you have the distortion, the music playing over and the person speaking is some distance away. I tried to listen without listening for "Nolan" and that shout at 11 seconds sounded more like a J or a G word (to me it sounds more like Jodie). I relistened and I could see how it could be heard as Nolan but it still sounds off in the pronunciation. Now that could be an accent, I'm not familiar with the speaker or how they normally talk, but just because you hear 'Nolan' doesn't mean that's what is being said. And I'm skeptical of "enhanced" verisons because of the editing that occurs in them - the editor is trying to edit for what they perceive to be the correct word. Maybe its clearer in other verisons but it also may not be more accurate.

Nolan’s name being said is very very clear. A lot of stuff is debatable but that’s very clear along with the damn it bart. Directly throws out that they last saw him at 3. They are lying. About what though? Unclear.

u/CupExcellent9520 Jul 29 '26 edited Jul 29 '26

It’s possible he was electrocuted by the bilge if he was in standing water or that he had alcohol poisoning  then laid down to sleep on boat , you can also drown after a water incident ie take on too much water think you are fine then just go unconscious. Regardless it sounds like coast guard should have been called .  Things obviously were out of control and the teens sounded like they were panicking.

u/Superb_Bed_9726 Jul 31 '26

I think someone on the island did something to him. we need to see these last photos of nolan that the mother has seen.
