Tyler Curle going to the Freeride World Tour!

Post image
130 Upvotes

If you’ve ever called the factory, swung by the shop, or followed our athletes over the years, chances are you already know Tyler Curle. He’s been part of the Moment family for a long time — building skis, sublimating topsheets, testing prototypes, all while stacking results on the competition circuit.

Tyler put down a killer run yesterday at the final stop of the qualifier circuit, landing 2nd place and officially earning his spot on the Freeride World Tour next season.

We couldn’t be more proud.

Tyler’s been putting in the work for years — early mornings in the factory, late nights tuning skis, and countless days chasing conditions. Watching that effort pay off in such a big way is exactly why we do what we do.

We are beyond stoked to watch him take on the FWT next year!

Help with mount point on Deathwish Tour 104

Hey all. I'm mounting up some bindings on a pair of DWtour 104s. 184cm. Long story short, due to some previous mounts I'm considering mounting at 1.5 cm back from factory recommended.

Anybody got any mount point feedback on the 184 dwt 104? I'd rather mount at factory but there's some extenuating circumstances...

I just got these on FB marketplace for $250. 2024 Moment wildcat 101 184. I know opinions on the 101 are pretty mixed, would love to hear the community’s views on them. Also they’re in great shape so I think I got a wicked steal

Countach vs countach tour

Looking at picking up a pair of countach 104's and I'm curious if anyone has experience on both the standard and the tour? I'm 155#, 5'9, skiing in the pnw. Im probably going to be skiing 70/30 majority resort on them but I'm still curious if the tour would perform close enough to the standard that I might enjoy the 1+ pound weight savings when I am touring? Hoping for a great season! Thanks.

Teasing myself with this view everytime I go to bed and wake up. Happy with the choice so far, can’t wait to get some days on these this season.

Anybody get on some prototype WC 98's last season? Would love to hear your thoughts on these. Looking to replace some M-Free 99's.

Everyone loved the 98 & 118's but the 101's never really took off. Seems like it was a full redesign, not just shaving off 3mm.

Meridian 117

Anyone ski the Meridian 117 or Meridian 117 Tour? Looking for a surfy pow ski to mount with CAST (since I already have a second ski kit) that won't fall apart in resort chop, but still light enough to not be ridiculously heavy to tour on and not super tiring to ski when in tighter, less open terrain. I am aware that heavy skis are more stable, and that CAST is not very efficient to tour on... these are the compromises I'm prepared to accept. I have chatted to the moment customer service team already - just curious to hear other people's experiences. Is the regular version really fatiguing, given the weight? Has anyone ridden the tour version inbounds?

I'm 6ft 180lbs, my daily driver is a 190cm Wildcat 108. Looking at the 187cm length of the Meridians. Thanks!

WC 108 or Meridian 107

I'm considering these for my dad, he's just getting really back into skiing as he was a big skiier when he was in his 20's/30's.

He likes to ski with quick turns and freeride stuff, not too into tree skiing too much. I'm thinking the Meridian just because of sidecut. But how do those two skis truly compare?

WC 98 or 108

I have 7 skis (5 resort skis). Skis i use on resort include the head super shape e-magnum (72mm), older Brahmas (88mm) which will be the ski that’ll need a replacement the soonest, DW 104 (daily), Atomic Maverick 105TIs (bought previous years demos for a dedicated rock ski), and WC116. I’m in N Utah. I’m not even sure i’m going to get another pair, but i do want one. I want something nimble enough for fairly narrow and steep chutes / trees. Not so worried about groomers, but maybe the 98 would be nice for more of that versatility? Good at getting through crud/chop would be nice as well… Thoughts?

Mostly stoked about getting the ski i’ve been wanting for years, but also colors so much brighter in person compared to website. Had the WC116 back in the day, loved it but just too wide for my every day reality. Can’t wait to try these out.

Deathwish 104 vs Wildcat 108

Deathwish 104 vs Wildcat 108?

Trying to decide between the Moment Deathwish 104 and the Wildcat 108.
A little about me:
Advanced skier
Spend most of my time off-piste
Love skiing trees, moguls, and side/backcountry terrain
I already own a 115 mm powder ski, so this would be my daily driver for everything else.

I don’t get many true deep powder days each season.
I’m looking for something that’s playful but still confidence-inspiring when conditions get chopped up. Quick maneuverability in tight trees and bumps is probably more important to me than maximum float.

For those of you who’ve spent time on both, which would you choose and why? Is the Deathwish 104 versatile enough for mixed soft-snow conditions, or is the Wildcat 108 the better all-around choice even with a dedicated 115 mm powder ski already in the quiver?

Alaska heli ski situation

I'm headed to Valdez to heli ski this April and am thinking about which skis to bring.
I have a Lotus 138 in 182 and am contemplating a second rig. Thinking about -

  • Wildcat 118 in 184
  • Countach 120 in 182

My daily resort ski is a Wildcat 108 (179cm), and I tour on either Wildcat Tour 108s (179) or Chipotle Banana Tour (186). I've read Paul Forward's AK heli notes on Blister, but still suspect the 118 Wildcats may be a good +1 for the Lotus. Additional context: 5'7", 145 - 150#.

Thoughts welcome! It's July, so naturally this is my #1 priority. Thanks

Tahoe quiver

Criminal snowboarder here switching over

I was on a pair of DW96s this season and absolutely loved them. I want to add a wider ski for powder and also a touring ski. Powder ski only needs to handle up to around a foot of snow (I will still be snowboarding the deep stuff) and the touring ski would be for corn and powder up to a foot.

I was thinking WC108 + DW104tour.

Or would WC108 tour be able to handle light inbounds use? Talking like pow only and Id be headed back to the car or out the gates as soon as it gets choppy. Also worried 108 might be too wide as a single ski backcountry quiver.

Ghost chants for trade?

Hey all — a bit specific here, but I recently acquired a pair of ghost chants (the 22/23 rerelease) through a friend. As much as I’d love to keep them, I know they’d be better suited and used more in someone else’s hands. I’m just not a park skier, but couldn’t pass up the opportunity to get these.

I’m looking to potentially trade for a pair of wildcat 118s / ghost trains, preferably with some sort of touring / hybrid binding (cast etc). The chants are 186cm, mounted with cast, and are in great condition (I understand they were ridden 1-2 times max).

If this is something of interest to anyone, let me know! I’m based in the pacific northwest

A tough choice: the deathwish 174 vs 179?

Thumbnail

Dear friends! I need your advice, please!

I recently joined the Moment fan club. I want to buy a DW 104, but can't decide on the length: 174 or 179?

I’m 5'6" (168 cm), 176 lbs. Advanced-expert level. 30+ ski days per season. 20+ years on skis. 50+ years old.

Of course, I studied the size guide on the website. They definitely say 174, but the guide is written for average weight. That's not about me. For the same reason, I'm not considering Sierra. Besides, they say: ā€œdon't be afraid to go up a size!ā€ I'm not afraid, but there's a limit.

Arguments for 179 cm:
- the skis have a lot of rocker, they turn easy;
- I normaly use long skis for freeriding, 178-181. To my height and weight, long skis are usually (!) good. (But I've also had unsteerable rails in my experience. The internal structure of the ski, its flex, is very important);
- I'll be using DW mostly in open alpine zones, not between the trees. (But there will be narrow couloirs there).

Arguments for 174 cm:
- This is a mid-fat daily driver, not a dedicated deep-powder ski. (For 6+ inches, I'll have the WC 118 😻And I have no doubt about its length: 179, definitely).
- I'm going to ski-touring 50/50, so a lower weight = easier kick-turns.
- official sizing guide.
- My age and gender => my physical strength is lower than I'd like šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

Unfortunately, I haven't had the opportunity to test the triple camber. I asked for advice through the website, but for some reason I didn't receive a response. (Perhaps they're on holiday now?)
I'd appreciate your advice!

PS. Given my concerns about the size, it would be ridiculous to also choose a color. But if anyone was planning to sell the 2023/24/25 DW, say my please.

Extra 10% off for Father's Day

Hopefully you are already on the email distro from Moment but if not, they sent out Fathers Day Promo Code (DADSDAY10) for an extra 10% off. If you've been holding off, great time to grab a pair if they have your model/size in stock. Cheers!
