Making coasters for friend’s new apartment. These are made with stained glasses.. I’m leaning towards light grey color grout but I’m always nervous about it :’) I have Lowe’s and Home Depot near me I can go to. Is there any brand you all prefer and what color would be best? I read in this sub that translucent grout is good for stained glass pieces but I’m not sure if those hardware stores have them.

First experiment for outdoor installed pie e. Made a small mosaic on mesh, attached to external wall and then grouted. Positive experience, but not sure how to not make a huge mess with all the grout. The paint job on the wall is very old, so not that upset by the staining, but just wondering how you would do this neatly?

Trying to finish this WIP

I’m sure some of the tiles are too far apart but it’s my first time and this still took forever! Home depot only had polyblend sanded grout in bone colour, do you think that’ll look ok and will this still come out ok? Scared to ruin it!

Stained glass mosaics with glass beads, glass gems, glitter, millifiori, and mirror chips. Grouted in Starlike Crystal translucent grout tinted in places with various colors of mica powder.

Central Pennsylvania: The Art Association of Harrisburg's fall member show theme this year is Legendary and Historical and the show will run from September 5 to October 8.

Opening Reception is Sunday, September 13, Noon to 5pm during Gallery Walk.

Just gave this to a friend following an inspiration picture of her cat. Still pretty new to the hobby but love the way this turned out. Also my first time using a darker grout, which will be my new standard.

I am hoping to get some ideas to materialize this concept I have in my head. I have been thinking of making a mosaic or painted tile semi-circle shaped entry mat with a starry night theme. Ideally I should be able to move it around. I think of it as something like a slab maybe. I have never worked with tiles before. How would you approach this? Which materials do you think I can use for the base and the tiles?
The picture shows a fabric mat they sell, I am thinking about something similar but I want real stone/mosaic or concrete. I don’t know where to begin, how would you approach this?

I’m making stair risers for outdoor stairs- this is stair 1, what color grout would look best? I thought just white but I have no clue… brand new at this..

I still need to seal this up and add an edge finish (probably some aluminum extrusions like the ones used to finish flooring, i think).

You can see i had issues around the edges- I used face tape and lowered my backerboard onto the mosaic and it ended up off center with some pieces "hanging ten" that had to be removed. In the future I will be more careful about filling in the edges exactly to size and find a better way to line it up.

This was originally supposed to be just an experiment and I see plenty of places to improve, but I think I like it enough to display it outside. Maybe above a door as a sort of protector spirit (it's a DC-10 firefighting tanker, from the fleet that defended my town in 2020)

Hello, this is my first mosaic tile of my cat, Nacho. I was thinking about using black grout but my mom said white would look better. What would you pick?
