Municipal Elections 2026 Mayoral Election. - Register to Vote!

It's the Mayoral election for CNV in October.

Last time around, a measly 22% of people here voted. Let's do better!

Whoever you vote for, make sure you're registered by Aug 18. It takes minutes.

health care / health issues Carefiniti west lonsdale - taking new patients

I often see folks searching for a doctor on here, so I thought I’d post about this clinic taking on new patients. They have both male and female physicians joining their practice in September

Don’t know much more than this, there is a sign in their office. I hope this is able to help someone :)

Municipal Elections 2026 Bombarded by Election Officials

Has anyone else been bombarded by election texts/emails/calls/mail. I have been called multiple times a day for over a week by multiple people. But what really annoyed me is my front door buzzer has been called FIVE times today from party representatives. Is this not borderline harassment? Especially when I've ALREADY VOTED and spoken to multiple people multiple times over the phone.

Ask North Van Moving to Windsor Park / Seymour Heights are from Downtown, what should we expect?

Hi everyone! My wife and I will be moving to the Windsor Park / Seymour Heights area soon after living in Downtown Vancouver for several years.

I would love to hear from anyone who has made a similar move from Downtown or another central Vancouver neighbourhood to this area.

What were the biggest lifestyle changes you noticed? Were there things you had to adjust to that you hadn’t expected?

I’m particularly curious about things like:

  • day-to-day convenience and errands
  • getting around / commuting
  • restaurants and going out
  • anything you miss about living Downtown
  • things that turned out to be much better than expected

Would love to hear both the positives and negatives, especially the things that surprised you after actually living there.

We already aware about all the nature advantages and this is the reason we are moving to North Van, mainly interesting in something we did not think about.

Ask North Van Anyone involved or knows the scoop on Cloverley elementary?

Just curious what the plan is if it isn’t ready on time, walked by and it’s really not looking ready. Is it behind schedule? Will kids be able to start school? What are the back up plans? What about the playground? What do you know?

Ask North Van Anyone know what the emergency services were doing at pipeline bridge at Lynn Canyon yesterday? I saw two large and recent bear scat by rice lake and on the path down to the bridge.

Curious if anyone get hurt by a bear there as I know there have been a few incidents.

I was debating warning some of the families with kids that I saw heading up to rice lake.

The most recent scat was basically directly across the lake from the main entrance by the dock.

Totally understand why you can't have pets on that part of the trail system...

Kudos to whoever made this website. Traffic really is as bad as it seems lately. Just for fun, set the time slider to 5:30pm, and cycle back through each day to see the solid red lines every time.

pets🐱🐶 & animals Any good trails/hikes with no dogs for my cat?

Hi! After a lot of in home training, I've finally gotten my indoor cat to enjoy some walks outside (with her harness and leash on).

However, everywhere I try to take her, we don't get to walk much before I have to pick her up due to an off-leash dog coming our way. I really worry for her safety, but we moved from a big house to a small apartment, so she really needs the time to let her energy out. And she loves it! She adores the forest, the smells, the dirt, jumping on fallen trees and all.

But with off-leash dogs, it's impossible to stay somewhere.

Does anyone have any recommendations on what to do? We live in North Vancouver, around the Windridge Park area for reference, it would be ideal to find somewhere close I could take her to often.

Even trails with less-dogs would be appreciated.

food / restaurants / gastronomy Venue for Celebration of Life

I'm planning a Celebration of Life for my Dad and was wondering if anyone had a good suggestion for a venue on the North Shore. I think there will be around 80 people and it would be mid day so ideally some light snacks and drinks (including alcohol). I had been looking at the Pier 7 Hotel space but it's unfortunately for 50 people max. As there will quite be quite a few elderly guests, I would like there to be lots of seating. I don't think I can deal with the headache of separate catering so was hoping for a one stop shop.

I know that this is Garibaldi Park and it has some Willow trees, but I was wondering if there was anywhere else on the North Shore that had lots of willow trees with a beautiful background?

Thank you so much for your help!

Ask North Van Repeat visitor advice - what are your favorite things to do around North Vancouver?

Hello, I am planning a weekend trip to North Vancouver in end of September, technically staying in West Vancouver/Horseshoe Bay. Have visited the area multiple times (we live in Seattle and Vancouver is our favorite weekend getaway). Looking for suggestions on things to do that I may have missed.

Things we’ve already done:
- Sea to Sky, Squamish, Whistler
- Shipyards & Lonsdale Quay
- Lighthouse Park & Juniper Point
- Cypress Lookout
- Capilano, Lynn Canyon
- Ambleside
- Deep Cove & Quarry Rock

On the itinerary this time:
- Ferry to Bowen Island
- Omakase at Sushi Mahana

Considering:
- Whytecliff Park
- Grouse mountain
- Port Moody
- A hike (still researching, will be weather and mood dependent, but we’re fairly fit)
- A bike ride (last time we biked from Stanley park across Lions Gate Bridge and back which was epic, but didn’t have time to explore much of North Vancouver on bike)

Thank you so much for any suggestions!

Ask North Van Recycling Bag disappearances

Kind of random but is anyone else constantly having their yellow recycling bags go missing. I've had both of mine go missing within the span of a month. My last bag went missing during pickup today, it can't be the wind blowing it away because there is no wind. Either there's a recycling bag thief on the loose or the people picking up the recycling are just tossing the bags wherever and not putting them back in front of the correct houses. Is anyone else having a similar issue or is it just me.

I already asked for a new bag less than 2 months ago and I think they're going to charge me for the new one if I ask for another again, Is that the case or is it just if you ask for multiple at once.

Thanks to anyone who has some insight on this, I feel like I'm losing my mind.
