Ive been reading A LOT of test banks and practice questions since 2nd year. Then during 4th year, I honestly didn’t really study the concepts anymore. Every time we had our so-called CA, I barely reviewed the actual concepts—I just answered and read through tons of test banks. And when I say tons, LIKE A LOT. 😭

I literally went through Lippincott, RNpedia, NurseLabs, Davis, videbeck and etc. Like front to back, bank after bank. I thought I was already prepared because I had seen so many questions and different ways of asking things.

BUT WHEN I ANSWERED THE BOARD EXAM??? 😭 It was SO different.

The questions themselves were actually simple, but THE CHOICES??? SO TRICKY. Like, the BON really knows how to make you lito 😭 There were so many traps where you’re like, “I KNOW THIS,” but then you start overthinking because all the choices seem correct.

I enrolled in RED RC, and honestly, they really helped me refresh my knowledge, build my test-taking stamina, and get used to answering recalls and different types of questions. So for me, it definitely contributed a lot to my preparation.

BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY—How well did you do during your four years of nursing? Because at the end of the day, I really feel like PNLE is testing your FOUNDATION.

YES. YOUR FOUNDATION.

The so-called “high-yield” diseases/topics didn’t necessarily come out the way we expected. There were some, sure, but the board exam really tests how well you understand the topic, not just whether you memorized a disease, its signs and symptoms, or a certain intervention.

You can read hundreds of test banks and memorize so many questions, but if you don’t understand the concept behind them, the BON can easily switch up the situation and make you lito. 😭

So honestly, don’t stress too much about trying to predict exactly what will come out. Build your foundation, understand your concepts, practice answering questions, and learn how to deal with tricky choices.

PNLE IS REALLY UNPREDICTABLE. 😭
And to everyone taking the next batch: trust your foundation. You know more than you think you do. 🫶🏻

Sana hindi ko na lang tinignan yung mga not sure qs ko. Dapat nakinig ako na hindi magsesearch after. Ngayon kinakain na lang ako ng kaba. No joke nakakatrauma mag pnle. Kakaiba pa ng circumstances ngayon na 2 weeks pa before day 2. After ng exam di ko mapigilan tulo ng luha ko sumabay pa yung ulan. Sabi ng family ko ako lang daw yung lumabas na luhaan edi mas kinabahan ako huhuhu. Ngayon di muna ako nagoopen ng messenger, tiktok, even fb talagang socmed detox ako. Dito lang ako magttrauma dump kaya sorry po ahehehe. Very candid po, ang not sure qs ko nasa 30 per np, sa 30 na yun sure na ko nasa half mali dahil nagsearch/nagtanungan. Ano po kaya ang chances ko pumasa? PLEASE PO no lapagan ng tamang sagot dito para po sa peace of mind ng mahinang nilalang na toh thank you

Hello! Are there any past test takers here who felt like after the board exams, you accepted that you really wouldn't pass? Like you were already in the acceptance stage because you got a lot wrong on your answers and you even searched on Google. Mga pa 20+ na mali yun per NP huhu

Then were you totally shocked when you found out you were on the list of passers?😭😫

Context pumasa ako ng Nov 2025. Then I have this one lower batch na nag tanong sakin mismo kung ano ba naramdaman ko ng boards, sinabi ko okay lang naman di ako kabado bumagsak kasi todo review ako that time, tapos parang after niya mabasa yun yung reply agad “eh mas madali sa inyo eh. Pinahirapan naman after ng sa inyo. Kaya mas marami pumasa.” Tapos di talaga siya tumitigil about how easy ours was compared to them.

Wala naman ako problema if harder or easier kasi PNLE is PNLE. Pero the fact na mag hilaan pababa o you look down to people who took it last year kasi mas mahirap sa inyo ngayon.

Napaisip rin ako kasi pag nag tanong ako, yung iba di naman daw nahirapan at walang paghihila pababa sa previous takers.

PNLE is PNLE no need to be comparative, we never had control on what gets released or published as the exam.

Going 4 months na ako as a bedside nurse, and honestly, I am really, really tired. Hindi talaga ako masaya. Gusto ko pa sanang mangarap and explore other opportunities, pero parang ini-invalidate ng iba yung feelings ko kasi “bago ka pa lang, resign agad?” Kaya minsan napapaisip ako, baka weak lang talaga ako?

Valid ba itong nararamdaman ko? Nakaya nila, so dapat kayanin ko rin?
Sobrang hirap maging bedside nurse, especially as a newbie. Ako lang mag-isa na nagha-handle ng around 14–15 patients in one shift. Just imagine that. Sometimes , may patient pang i-OR, maraming STAT orders, scheduled meds, charting, IVF na kailangan i-follow up, plus kailangan mo pa i-entertain lahat ng concerns ng patients.

Minsan hindi ka na makakain sa tamang oras or makaihi man lang. 😭 Normal ba talaga ‘to sa bedside nursing? Or am I just not built for this kind of work?
And then yung sweldo, around ₱7–8k per kinsenas. Sakto pa ba talaga ‘to sa workload and responsibility?
I know bedside nursing can be exhausting and I expected it to be difficult, pero hindi ko in-expect na ganito ako ka-drained after only 4 months.

I genuinely want to know from other nurses—am I being weak for wanting to leave, or is it okay to admit that bedside nursing just isn’t for me?

As the title said, our board exam was moved to September 11 and 12. Yes, 2 days kami compared sa NCR na 1 day.

Anyone here who felt the same way like mine? The moment na na cancel yung board exam, parang nawala yung drive ko to study na kasi supposed ay tapos na siya talaga today. Sobrang sayang sa resources sa nabook na transient, sa nabiling mga consumables, and sa napamasahe at effort.

Hindi ko alam kung paano makakabalik ulit kasi parang nahigop yung energy ko for productivity kasi ang naka set sa utak ko na kalbaryo ay Aug 29-30, then after non we can relax but tadaaa, force majeure :))

Hindi dahil sa “takot malamangan” mindset hahaha gosh that’s so last year. Rather, due to severe leakage, baka mangyari yung nangyari before na nagka reexamination lahat.

Wala naman atang may gusto nun diba? : )

So to those na nagtake na, be careful.

i’ve asked a lot of passers about it and sabi nila one left shade is one wrong answer lang not totally wrong na yung whole set.

yun lang guys. all of them are passers na and admitted missing even 5 shades sa iba’t ibang number wala naman daw nangyari sa scantron nila and nabasa naman ng machine ❤️

im presenting facts lang din since a lot of takers have the same problem but still it’s our responsibility to check our scantron and make use of the time wisely talaga para iwas sa anxious thoughts na “what if i fail kasi sabi sa (revcen/sabi ni ganyan )bawal may lagtaw”

been seeing a lot of feedback from recent takers and honestly, i don't think the board exam questions are conceptually hard. the real challenge is that they have very good distractors and sobrang tricky ng wording.

at face value, mapapa-WTF ka sa hirap ng questions, but it's actually not too deep. they just make the scenarios and options very tricky and legit, i'm genuinely amazed by the BON with how they craft those traps. totoo yung sinasabi nila na for every question, you can easily eliminate the obvious first 2 wrong options. ang kaso, you will always be left overthinking with the last 2 choices kasi the distractors are very compelling. as in parehong mukhang tama pag hindi mo binasa nang maayos yung stem ng tanong.

so for future PNLE takers, if there's one thing you need to prioritize, you should really focus on improving your test-taking skills. hindi sapat yung kabisado mo lang yung concepts, kailangan marunong kang mag-dissect ng tricky words. practice answering lots of questions and rationalizations para mahasa test-taking niyo.

I’m currently a 4th year BSN student and will be graduating in June 2027. I’m planning to take the August 2027 PNLE, but I’m worried about the limited time I’ll have to review after graduation.

Usually, review centers start their intensive programs around March/April, but by then we still have classes and duties, so I’m thinking of starting an advance review while I’m still in 4th year.

I also have access to Simplify NCLEX since my cousin who’s an RN in Australia enrolled me. Would it be enough to use the pre-recorded lectures there to refresh my 2nd–3rd year topics, especially Maternal/Child Nursing? Or would it be better to enroll in an undergraduate Enhancement Review Program?

For those who took the PNLE, what would you recommend? Do I need to enroll in an enhancement review this early, or is self-review + recorded lectures enough for now?

Any advice would be appreciated! 🥹
