Last Sunday I received this message from a complete stranger, the profile seemed legit and had some matches played. I guess it was reported and blocked. I don't know if it's spam, phishing or a legitimate proposal, I don't know what to think anymore. Have you received anything similar?

People here in Milan are crazy. Everyone pays for leveling sessions just to boost their rating. They can't even hold a racket, but they blame their partners and act like they deserve a higher rank. It seems like everyone here has a Playtomic level over 5, yet they can't even hit the ball properly.

I've even found guys cheating on the platform, they create fake profiles and log 10 to 50 fake matches against themselves just to artificially inflate their level.

At this point, it's impossible to set up a decent match unless you personally know everyone involved. Plus, if you play against these guys, you're guaranteed to win and your own level goes up even if you don't deserve it, distorting the ranking system even further. The crazy part is that level 7 is the cap, and I know a ton of people at that level who aren't even that good.

Is it like this where you guys are, too?

My son is 5 years old and has recently started showing interest in padel. He keeps asking to join me when I go for my padel sessions, and I’d really love for him to pick up the sport and hopefully enjoy playing it regularly as he grows up.
For parents or coaches who have introduced padel to kids around this age:
What’s the best way to introduce a 5-year-old to padel without making it feel like training or a chore?

Any tips to make the game fun and keep them interested?

Should I focus more on playing games and having fun rather than teaching proper technique at this age?

Most importantly, what racket would you recommend for a 5-year-old? I’m looking for something lightweight and genuinely suitable for a young child.

He’s quite athletic for his age, but he’s still a small 5-year-old, so I don’t want to give him a racket that’s too heavy or difficult to handle.
Would love to hear from parents, coaches, or anyone who has experience getting young kids into padel.

I’ve been playing padel for half a year now and won my first tournaments, but now I’m at a point where I feel like I need some extra pair of trained eyes to look at my technique to get better. Does anyone know how to get in touch with some better/good players who are willing to give some lessons. I’d also book some lessons from official clubs etc. but there are just none in my area 🥲 only courts for free play.
And doing a padel weekend in Spain for 1.2k isn’t really in my budget.

I’ll be around Murcia / Cartagena for the next 2 weeks (lvl3 Playtomic) and I was wondering how padel matches are usually organized in the area.

I’ve seen some matches on Playtomic at X7, but not much else. Are there any WhatsApp groups where people organize games and look for players? Dm if you have some link :)

me right side left-hander, opponents both right-handers.

My teammate plays a lob parallel around mid court but fairly close to net so not great lob, opponent plays a vibora cross court to me.

I defend it, would it be best to:

-block low and to the middle/towards vibora player

-block return high towards the backhand of the person who played the vibora

- block with a fast volley to the body of the person who played the vibora

One thing that I am struggling with maintaining consistency is keeping the racket face flat whilst defending at the net.

When the opponents are defending and play lots of fast volleys I can defend them but notice as the game progresses my returns aren’t as low as they normally are or float higher than they should be, which I think is due to my racket not being flat.

This is an issue at the level I play at because if I block a fast volley and play it to the side glass and it is not low or floats it gives my opponents an opportunity.

I am writing this message because I am wishing to receive some recommendations to what modify or add to my weekly routine. As the title goes, I am an amateur gym goer with 12 years of gym experience, clearly with a lot of muscle mass on my body. I started in January playing pádel with some friends and I quickly became a habit until I had my first grade 2 tear on my left calf in May. This injury took me 7 weeks to go away and until this Friday everything was okay. Long story short: also my right calf got a tear, which is probably going to block me for again 7 weeks.

I am wondering how I can improve: I have heard my body is used to a lot of strenght but not used to the kind of effort that is required, especially related to fast twitch fibers.

Do you guys have any recommendation on what to integrate in my routine in order to avoid future injuries?

Not to mention, both Injuries happened after sprinting, not during movements.

The injury took place 40 minutes after working out and I did a quick warmup of 5 minutes...not enough for sure!

I had a game booked yesterday in Valencia and when I arrived it was clear there was an event on as the whole facility was crazy.

Turns out they were finishing the Spanish youth championship so there were 1500+ kids and teens of both genders practicing and competing.

They are absolutely incredible at padel! Theres tons of kids who can kick the ball out from anywhere with ease, I assume they weren’t playing out of court play but the ones practicing were still doing it near the door and they knew exactly where to be. I wonder will they need to soften the balls in the future because the next generation are going to be amazing.

I was ever so slightly embarrassed when a few watched us 35 year olds pass the ball around for 90 minutes.

Played with someone who was essentially ignoring me completely between points. Was the most uncomfortable I think I’ve ever been and I mentioned him to a friend who plays at the same club and he had the exact same experience and now refuses to play with and against him.

We started relatively well but lost the 1st set then completely tanked it because he lost his head and basically refused to acknowledge me or communicate. Errors start to creep in then we loose the second set 6-1

Nothing worse than playing with someone who has zero sportsmanship, negative, blames the other player for their own faults, sighs, tuts, arrives late.

What do you do in this situation? For me it ruins the game.

People forget that Padel is for fun, bringing such an attitude into the game is awful to experience.

Hello everyone! I’m a newbie (F/25🌷) in playing Padel. This was actually introduced by a friend a couple of months ago, and I got so curious about it so I did my research. I also watched tiktok videos regarding this one. I already bought a paddle and a training tennis ball (the one where it bounces back to you because it’s tied on a garterized string) with the goal of improving my coordination and entry-level techniques, and did some practice here in our garage. However, when I began searching for courts and coaching in our city, and even the whole island (since I live in an archipelago country 🇵🇭) there’s really not much of them from where I’m from (at least to my knowledge), because most (if not all hahahaha) of the courts here are for pickleball players.

My question is, what tips and advices can you give me? It can be anything: proper footwork, body mechanics, strategies, you name it! Although I’ve done my online research, but I feel like it’s best to learn from people who have experienced (and learned) playing this game.

Disclaimer, I’ve been told by the salesman from the sports store that there’s really a different ball for padel (but it’s very similar to the tennis ball), but due to the availability limitations of the proper equipments, I just had to improvise (since it’s really not a popular/ well-known game in our place).

33F. I am a beginner. I've learnt a few basic shots, and done a couple of rallies with my coach to build my reflexes. But every time we play, I can't seem to shift fast enough to the back of the court with the ball if my last shot was closer to the net, it's like dancing with two left feet.

But when I watch rallies online (Instagram or YouTube shorts), players just seem to read the ball so well and are sooooooo fast with the footwork.

It's like they can predict where the ball will go.

With the coach, we haven't gotten to the footwork part yet. For now, he is mostly correcting my upper body form while playing. But rallies seems pointless without proper footwork. I feel like I will trip on my feet when moving back.

I don't have a sports background. This is the first time I'm trying out sports in general. I've seen some short videos on YouTube about footwork. I liked the one that asked players to shuffle sideways (going to the back of the court but turned to a side so technically you're shuffling sideways). But no video kind of demonstrates how exactly to move your joints to shuffle for someone who has never moved their feet like that in their life.

Any tips and tricks or better videos out there? Anything appreciated.

I have my first lesson tomorrow. I have never played any net sport. What can I expect? I am a bit nervous. Anyone else ever started without prior experience and how did it go?

Recently played a tournament in the UK. After the second game, the other team disputed the result. My partner and I were convinced (and correct) that the score we said was right. The others guys were getting a bit aggressive over it and we just dropped it as it was getting pathetic.

What would people do in that situation? If there was a genuine mix up, I would have offered to replay a game but they were wrong and dicks.

I've really gotten into padel with some friends in the past few months. We are very much still beginners, but we all come from other racket sports backgrounds and play around once a week, so we are starting to get a little more routine. Now two of us registered for a beginner's tournament in two weeks and while the stakes are as low as they could be, we are of course motivated to do well.

One thing we noticed is that we barely communicate while playing. We sometimes manage to basically shout "you" or "me" to each other when it's not clear who should take the ball, but that's the extent of it. We feel like we could do much better in this regard.

So while I know this is an extremely broad and vague question, I was wondering: do you have any advice for beginners what and how to communicate during the match? What helped you improve as a team?

Looking at some private coaching in Bristol for beginner/improved level. Anyone recommend someone? I want someone who has some level of experience. I’ve seen coaches advertised who are only rated as a 2 on Playtomic.

Looking for advice on choosing a padel coach (2.5-3.0 level)

My group is roughly in the 2.5-3.0 range and we're thinking about starting regular training with a coach, but I’m not really sure what I should be looking for when choosing one. I can usually book a free or discounted trial session, so I’m wondering what I should actually pay attention to during that first session to make sure it's a coach that could really learn a lot from.

For those of you who’ve worked with different coaches, what are the biggest green flags and red flags?

Last winter I stayed in Cape town from Dec - Feb and found the Padel scene to be great. Lots of open matches & tournaments on Playtomic playing against a great mix of locals & travellers and clubs arent too far apart since they are consolidated around a few suburbs. Combine this with low cost of living & great weather it was a great Padel destination.

Can anyone suggest a similar city either in Oceania, South East Asia or South America which sounds like it would be as good as Cape town? I know some areas have plenty of Padel facilities but can be difficult to determine how accesible games would be for a blow in. I've set my destination to many South American cities on Playtomic to scope it out but seems they use a different app? Anyway, any suggestions would be appreciated. I want to avoid Bali and other places overrun by influencers

I have played tennjs for over 10-15 years and my arm or elbow was never in pain. But i started playing padel with some friend since one month and after every session i have a pain between my arm and elbow and i need a few days to recover. Is this because of bad grip or something? I suppose im not the first person with such a pain.
