Anyone currently going to Park City Dental Associates? We've been with them for years but in the last 6 months every dentist has left, I had an appointment re scheduled because a hygienist quit, a receprionist quit....I'm ready to find another dentist office at this point because it feels so unreliable there anymore.

They finally released the price…. Close to the same price as the full epic pass. Does it even make sense or just buy daily? I read that reservations are still required also…

Was curious to see how far east the power outage went. Seems like all of summit park is out of power as of 3-4 minutes ago. And multiple reportings in Salt Lake City on the Pacificorp website.

Handle, Matilda and The Nelson Cottage by High West received Michelin Recommended recognition when the guide was unveiled Wednesday, Aug. 26. The inaugural edition covers Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah.

I’ve lived in Park City for decades and have heard over and over again how frustrating it can be to find a job here (and how expensive it is to post jobs!). So I finally decided to build something to help.

I recently launched ParkCity.jobs, a free local job resource + weekly email with jobs listings that are in the Park City area. The idea is pretty simple: make it easier for local businesses and local job seekers to find each other without digging through pages of LinkedIn, Indeed, fake listings, and jobs that aren’t actually anywhere near Park City.

It’s still brand new, so I’m figuring it out as I go, but hopefully it can become a useful little resource for the community and those looking to move here. Anywho, lemme know what you think.

My family and I are hoping to relocate to Park City. Specifically looking at Summit Park, Silver Summit, and East Basin? Basically those places because they have homes in our price range. We have 2 young kids and are wanting to settle and grow roots in Park City. Hoping anyone could give some insight and opinions on the “neighborhoods” I listed or didn’t list. Side bar not Mormon and unsure how the LDS scene is in Park city. Get the vibe it’s not too prevalent but could use insight on that too? ALSO was browsing at Heber City, Kamas, and Midway. Honestly it’s a little overwhelming as an outsider. I love Park City and feel the small community would be wonderful to be apart of it but am curious about surrounding areas and what the communities there are like? Sorry for a long one but truly any information would be so so helpful. Thank you so much!!

We are purchasing a 4-bedroom home in the Deer Valley/Park City area that we plan to use ourselves and potentially rent when we're not there. We live out of state and need to furnish the entire house.

We've spoken with a local design/furnishing company that will select and order everything, coordinate deliveries, and completely set up the house for us. The convenience is very appealing, but the cost is significant, so we're trying to decide whether it's worth it.

The alternative would be for me to select and order the furniture myself and hire someone locally to receive deliveries, handle assembly/installation, deal with damaged items, etc.

For other second-home or rental owners in the area:

• Did you use an interior designer/turnkey furnishing company, or furnish the house yourself?
• Is there a local company or person you recommend who will receive and coordinate furniture deliveries and set everything up?
• Would a property management/home management company typically provide this service?
• Any designers, project managers, home concierge companies, or receiving/installation companies you would recommend?
• Anything you wish you had done differently?

I'm less concerned about having a professionally "designed" house than I am about having it look nice, be durable for renters, and getting everything completed quickly without having to fly back and forth to Utah for deliveries.

I don't think Dickey is a bad guy, but more and more, he is revealing that he's a weak leader. Do I think he can correct course? Yes. It'll take some humility, though. I truly hope he "gets" it.

1. His unwavering support of Park City's Police Chief in this current scandal is premature. Carpenter's actions could potentially result in a mistrial of the Richins case. That's significant. This case has cost taxpayers a lot of money to prosecute.
2. Dickey has not shown that same support for staff, signaling a tendency toward cronyism. He has only ever stood up for his leadership team, despite allegations of misconduct. When peers and subordinates raise red flags, or simply have objective, valid concerns that deserve to be heard. They do not receive that same solidarity.
3. He seems more driven by high-visibility achievements to tout rather than taking care of the essential, unglamorous infrastructure maintenance that needs to be done.
4. Dickey seems like a student of policy. This nerdiness is part of his charm and could be useful right now. The city is drowning in new builds and projects. A ton of homes and commercial spaces sit vacant while we are all told that we still need to build more to "grow the economy." Maybe that's not the complete answer. Let's pause and figure it out. We need a leader.

I am planning on going and would at least like to plan which ones I want to go to ahead of time but there is nothing on the website. I even got an email this morning from them about how it's opening weekend, but there are not homes listed! What is going on here?

21 bartenders in Park City created cocktails for the Park City’s Restaurant Association’s Mountain mixer. There were so many creative cocktails including Rockin’ in Morocco, Hive Mind, 40 Degrees North & Blood’s Lake. If you take a look at the Mountain Mixer website you’ll see what drinks didn’t qualify for the finalists and what drinks won the competition. The judged categories included creativity & originality, appearance & color, balance & flavor, garnish & presentation, and overall best in class. The Cucumber & Jalapeño Gimlet and the Crimson Smoke won despite having a story, a good name or any type of creativity.

If anyone else was there, what are your thoughts? This even was put on by Park City’s Restaurant Association, you’d think they’d care about the people who partake. It’s upsetting that some of these bartenders put in so much thought in their cocktails for the judges to deny them the recognition they deserve.

Agree with me or not .. This is major news. Search warrant served on Wade Carpenter, PCPD police chief and phone seized.

For the record, I have been rather vocal about local law enforcement issues. Notably with … Carpenter, Dave Booth (former HCPD Chief and WCSO (soon to be former) Sheriff Rigby.

And now .. it’s public. “Allegedly” Rigby was not happy about his opponent in the WCSO race gaining ground .. so he enlisted the support of Carpenter to discredit his opponent. This included overt and anonymous contacts to Margaret Olson, Summit County Attorney.

RIgby’s opponent, Eric Mainford was an investigator in the Kouri Richins murder case. The angle these corrupt cops used was : “ your investigator is dirty.. if you don’t help is take him out of the WCSO election.. some dirt might taint him and jeopardize the Richins prosecution”

This, people is the tip of the iceberg. There’s more on Carpenter and Rigby, these two have conspired before.

Fox 13 ran a story exposing Carpenter As chairman of Utah POST (law enforcement oversight board), he orchestrated his buddy Rigby to be the new Director. When Fox 13 notified the POST committee about RIgby’s misdeeds (intimidating cops that reported former HCPD Chief Booth choking a cuffed suspect) .. RIgby’s nomination was rescinded.

But wait… there’s more on Carpenter .. but let’s just leave that for another day.

Props to SCSO Bates… for having the stones to take this on. Local cops investigating local cops is problematic by nature. Coupled with the fact the Margaret Olson and Carpenter have a long and close relationship.. this should really go right past the AG to the Feds.

Update: I asked another employee, and she did confirm that they pooled their tips, but she also was extra kind and surprised when I gave her cash, and I definitely got the impression that the system wasn’t that great for them. Pooling tips makes a wage theft case harder to prove, but they seemed too nervous to talk to an attorney anyway. Now that I’m checked out (and paid my bill) I’m happy to name the hotel: Montage.

Original post: I’m staying at a local resort and after getting to know one of the waitresses here, she asked that I not tip on the receipt, as gratuity and service charges weren’t actually going to her. I gave her cash, but it didn’t feel like she was just trying to avoid taxes. She seemed nervous to tell me, and didn’t even ask for cash, just warned me not to bother with the tip line. If I get an opportunity to ask another server here (discretely) I will. In the meantime, I’d love to be able to give her a number for a local attorney. I lot of the employees here are international and don’t speak great English, and I’m getting the impression they might be taken advantage of.
