Pathos has been free to play for over ten years. Coming soon, an enhanced edition will be available on Steam, finally giving you a way to support its continued development. Most importantly, the free editions aren’t going away. I want Pathos to remain accessible to everyone, regardless of whether they are able to purchase the Steam edition.
Pathos has been due for a visual upgrade and this Steam edition takes inspiration from ‘old book illustrations’. The result is a spectacular fusion of retro aesthetics and modern usability.
The key art features Struth von Winkelried who is a legendary character of Swiss folklore, based on a real-life knight.
Struth attacked the dragon single-handedly, armed with a spear of which he had attached sharp barbs. The dragon, seeing that the attacker was alone, came from his hiding-place and attacked with open jaws.
Winkelried was able to transfix the monster with his spear, hacking at it with his sword until it died. Glad for his victory, Winkelried lifted his sword over his head, thanking God, and the dragon's blood dripped from his sword blade on his body, poisoning him so that he died a few days later.
Sounds like perfect YASD to me!
Anyway, this is a mumak, as you may recognise from Pathos. Just your typical, bizarre quadruped monster.
Well, sometime in the 1800s, someone had already come up with this idea. Or had a very specific kink. Behold, the Mommy Mumak:
I hope you’ll love Mommy Mumak and this Steam edition of Pathos as much as I do :D
If you have any questions, feel free to hit me up anytime.
Hail adventurers! Our Steam page for Zeroth is finally published, wow that was a lot of time and effort... Anyway, there's also a brand new trailer which has turned out great. If you haven't heard of Zeroth, it's my new project and spiritual successor to Pathos.
Guide fallen heroes through a post-life adventure in the absurd and ever-changing 0th circle of Haell. Exploit the sandbox physics and experiment with mysterious treasure to postpone your inevitable death. Emergent chaos and exasperated heroes, only in Zeroth.
Love this game. Free of charge and endless adventure. I waste hours, days on a single run. It’s an awesome app, but I’m wondering what other hidden gems like this live in the app store. I just got a new phone and I want to play games. Tell me, what do YOU play between nethack dungeon delves? This is a community whose opinion I trust so recommend me your iOS games of choice. Free apps or very cheap, preferably. Lay it on me. What do you play?
I really liked the game and reached Floor 25 and died 170 times in that run (it was the shattered pixel dungeon varient) .its kind of hard to imagine winning this game without resurrection. I was searching for guides on how to improve but couldn't find any do you guys have links to some of your favourite guides?
So I'm trying to add some custom sprites for player characters but can't figure out how. I'm going into Diagnostics and trying to add the PNG for the sprite but it's not doing anything and I can't seem to find any instructions on how to do it. Can anyone help?
What I want to know is do all hostile have eggs, can extinct monster have eggs, are eggs a limited resource or does it spawn back, what entities can be hostile or friendly like chicken because I don’t see a pattern for them
I mean they had the strength of melee weapon that being that they don't required ammunition, and they had the strength of ranged weapon because they can extend more than one tiles.
You pretty much always win against anything that wasn't faster than you or got no ranged attack. Combined with Light Spell, you could kill pretty much anything in game.
I have to say that I find dhak legacy to be just unreasonably difficult. Just getting out of the starting block is near impossible. The trolls are enough of a problem, but the wizard leprechaun(s!) animating your stuff in the middle of it all is a deal breaker.
Not to mention seriously limited resources, gold, shop inventory, etc.
If anyone has any pro level tips I'd take them.
Honestly I really like the idea of bespoke maps for Pathos, I wish there were more, and I wish the only one there is wasn't ridiculously hard so as to be unplayable. 😕
Stepped on a teleportation trap by accident. Is there nothing I can do to get out? I tried searching for a door already. Damn this was my best run so far 😭😭
I see in master mode you can have 100 resistance to everything so I have two questions first:with 100% resistance to everything are you truly immortal or is there still a way to die(from what I tried I can’t die without quitting)second: is it possible in normal mode or does it have a limitation like you can’t get some resistance in normal mode
Happened completely by accident, but worked really well.
Was fighting the final round of adult dragons in dhak legacy, which can be challenging. Fighting silver dragon is tough because his breath attack is force bolt, so reflection doesn't help.
Somehow, I have no idea why, he got punished with gluttony. As I was running from him, buying time, we transported to the large outer room, which was filled with the 2,000 nutrition beefs left over from living walls.
As the silver dragon was following me, he crossed over a beef, and was compelled to eat it due to gluttony. Well, you know how long it takes to consume a beef, a few turns at least - and the dragon was helpless as he digested, and I just kept striking! I killed him before he had a chance to recover.
So, interesting idea to me. If gluttony is punished, lure enemy over to large amounts of food, and take advantage of the delay from eating!
Broke my PB last night, new pr stands at 157,891. I know, I know, long road ahead, but forward progress is always nice to see.
I dipped my toes into floor 7, discovered the mines, and the "bonus" gold boulder stage. So that was fun.
Learned that while the gamd does work against you NORMALLY, having Dwarf Fugitive Convict is like cranking up the difficulty, and having Satyr Skeleton Wizard is setting you up for an..."easier" run. Not that anything about this game is "easy", mind you, but it is fun!
Got me thinking.
What build (Race, Special, Class) have you had the MOST FUN with? Not "What's your best build". Not "What Special should I pick for this race or that class". What build have you had the most fun with, and why? Stories always welcome if you got 'em. I kinda feel like that's the whole point of a community like this.
