Game Image/Video RDR 2 still looks incredible on pc even without rtx

But why should every player have to compute the same lighting in real time when you can do it once and save them the performance cost?

Optimization is dead.

Because you get dynamic scenes this way. Someone might come upon something during the day, and I could come upon it at night. Which makes the game more alive, and more realistic.

That's not dynamic though, that's just changing based on time.

Dynamic implies changing geometry, which is much more rare.

That doesn't change the landscape, buildings or the position of the sun.

Because players actually move and interact with the levels. It's not just a static scene. And all those movements and interactions change light.

This has nothing to do with optimisation. If you want real life level lighting and reflections then has to be done in real time.e

I don't want real life lighting, I want lighting that looks good.

Interacting with tiny objects doesnt change the geometry of the sun and buildings. Just look at RDR2, no RT and the lighting is still great.
