It appears if she's gone she can't sign anything and declare him dead. On life support, you're not dead. She's helping the Republicans with their timeline.

Timeline for what? A replacement can't be appointed by the governor.

There's some deadline rule for Kentucky. If they announce before a certain date, I think it involves Massie.

but also if she actually went to China, well then she's under control of the Chinese government. I just assumed that if the wife of US senator just got on a plane to China or Russia that maybe they get stopped for questions from like the CIA or FBI or something

To be fair, she didn't have to leave the country. "I'm not signing anything. I'm too broken up to make any decisions like that right now"

It's not like her staying in the US would force her to make any decisions.
