Imagine if the Dems did this with Ted Kennedy to maintain the Obama supermajority in 09.

I mean... they did change state law to allow the governor to appoint a temporary replacement. 

But, as many of us remember, it was indeed temporary. 

Which gives me hope that Kentucky could also do something wild and elect a Democrat if there is a special election called in the middle of summer.

If Doug Jones could win in Alabama...
