& bringing up the whole Greenland issue again is another decoy from their longer game here. Eyes on the prize

Not everything is a distraction. We have a president who has dementia and delusions of grandeur. For some reason he's fixated on Greenland. It doesn't have to be more complicated than that.

Yeah, IDK why so many redditors still think the Trump admin is playing 4D chess. They're not even playing checkers, they're throwing mud around the playground is all.

I always wondered if all the BS was a ploy.

And I do think it is ... to an extent.

The whole "They're eating the dogs!" line was delivered with such obvious conviction. I don't care how sophisticated a person might be in order to act in the grift, you could just tell that was an authentic belief in that guy's brain. That's the "real" part of DJT. The part that appeals to his base. His deep and wide base.

The fear. The foundational insecurity about life. Existentially scared.

Long story short. He's both a grifter and fanatic. He's the perfect foil for all this nonsense, because he's a true believer in the bullshit. And it's all bullshit. It's super-power levels of bullshit. It's bullshit turtles all the way down.

He's an ideal politician for the low intelligence aggrieved voter, because he is one, and being angry at stuff is so fucking easy (we all do that, it's just that some of us try to appeal to our better angels) -- but he also likes grifting as much as possible too.

So, yeah, a third of the population loves the BS, a third don't care that much, and a third are appalled and want to stop it, but do we want to stop it hard enough? Not really. Complaining online is our release valve. Easier to do this than to leave the house, right?

Bad news, that first third are the one willing and able to bend and break the law to get what they want.

The south has risen again. Welcome to it. It's entrenched now. Mid terms are already fixed.

They're rolling their feces into a ball and eating it.

I dunno about that. If you keep in mind their goal is to fleece the country their doing pretty well. If we're going with the chess analogy, it's more the tournament directors don't give a shit about the rules than them being any good at chess.

Trump thinks he's the king but is actually a pawn.

He remains a useful idiot to them.

I don't fully agree with this outlook that he's not in control, like, at all. I think the nature of his narcissism is that he's ridiculously easy to manipulate but if he somehow he does figure out he's being made into a chump he will flip out on that person. We saw it happen a little with Bibi. He was doing really well manipulating Trump but I guess lost patience and got a bit too "do-as-I-say" which is when we saw Vance say what he said.

They need to feed his narcissism once in a while to be able to continue to puppet him. It's purely transactional for his handlers.

They're flinging shit everywhere hoping for something, anything to stick

The substance of the distraction being dementia-driven does not preclude the use of distractions. It can be both.

For some reason he's fixated on Greenland.

The reason is Thiel and Vance. Please don't think they have forgotten about their nutcase "network states".

That reason is encirclement of Canada.

The elite in America know that America's resources are drying up due to unsustainable practices and climate change. There will come a time when they turn their focus north of the border and try to claim what's ours like Hitler did with the Rhine.

That's what all the annexing talk is about. They are priming the US population for invasion plans that are still likely a decade or more away.

I just assumed this was a World Cup tantrum. Bombs Iran and screeches about Greenland the day after his lame attempt to rig a soccer game failed

He thinks that taking over Greenland and giving it to the Lauder guy will get him (Trump) a big payout. It doesn’t have to be complicated.

This time the Greenland thing is probably because his 4th of July phonecall with Putin - the Greenland crisis was probably the biggest split between the US and allies so Putin would like a repeat of that.

True. But anything that isn’t about the Epstein files is essentially a distraction for this Admin..

1

u/PeachPassionBrute Jul 08 '26

That’s absurd. Yes the Epstein files are consequential but have you noticed how most of their voters don’t fucking care anyway?

They wrote plans, decades long strategies. They aren’t doing things literally just to distract from Trump being an obvious sex trafficker, they’re doing things they literally planned on doing and wrote about.

There are certain key oligarchs with a particular interest in Greenland and they have been pushing Trump to take it for a while now. That’s why it’s a point of focus.

Constantly minimizing the abject horrors of what this administration is doing by constantly saying it’s all just a distraction is absurd. They are systematically destroying our constitution and any semblance of legitimate law. We are quickly devolving into an authoritarian dictatorship with the explicit goal of supercharging neoliberal consolidation.

Can we please get on the same fucking page about this shit?

I knew that fucker was going to circle back to Greenland.
