He’s not spineless he’s a republican puppet playing at being a democrat. He and Schumer vote with the Republicans more than they don’t.

Spineless is putting it lightly, he's corrupted and a sell-out who would rather let Trump win than take on corporate greed.

Especially considering the climate crisis, this is dooming the planet levels of capitulation. They'll go down in history as the greatest failures of our time

His job is to represent the people in his district, and we know from polling people want Medicare for all or some sort of single payer system, ultimately for government to ensure universal healthcare.

He used to support Medicare for all.

So now he's just saying to lower costs and strengthen ACA without clear details/legislation, which wouldn't mean universal coverage anyways, while rejecting the widely supported/most likely option, he's failing to represent his district.

What he is essentially representing are profits for the health insurance industry

I find this comment suspect. He is working for his big donors. He is not working for his constituents. What your comment here does is to characterize him as incompetent rather than malevolent. This is a pretty common (and disgusting) PR tactic. US wars are often described similarly. The war in Iraq was a mistake, not an intentional war crime. Better to be dumb than to demonstrate intent for a crime, or to demonstrate intentional abandonment of your constituents.

this comment lacks so much nuance its laughable. trying to paint AOC as someone who is closer to Jeffries than Mamdani is hilarious.

I suppose in a technical sense, you are right, but also she acknowledges that dem leadership is failing people.

people put too much on AOC's shoulders and it is frankly unfair. her first responsibility is to her constituents. and if Jefferies meets that need for her she will be forced to support him.
