All of these moderates were for medicare for all when it came time to campaign and get elected. That's not me even being facetious. Look up how many people ran and got elected on that shit a decade ago and have done nothing to advanced a single payer or dual payer system. But no we cannot primary these guys because it looks bad on democrats.

American voters chose not to give them the numbers in congress to implement their plans, and so they've stopped promising stuff that they realistically have no hope in delivering on in the next term.

It's hard to run in the 2026 midterms on a message of "Medicare 4 All in 2029, but only if we get massive victories in the senate & the presidency"

That still doesnt answer why he would say he isnt for medicare for all now.

From a incentive standpoint he shouldn't change his position

Watch them pass a Medicare for all or a public option bill with Trump as the president. Then watch them fail to get it out of committee when they have full control in 2029
