As the title says, my PS3 is on 4.53 SEX firmware and I've been trying to get a way to convert it to retail firmware so that it doesn't boot into demonstration mode so that I can eventually mod it for my needs. PSXHAX has a forum dedicated to this from what I could find (https://www.psxhax.com/threads/ps3-demo-kiosk-shop-firmware-reverters-and-tutorial.374/) but I am unsure if this is what I need and even so, the website doesn't have registration open.

So I wanna connect to the internet again after not using my ps3 online for a good few months but I can't because I didn't update my evilnat. After looking at a shit ton of threads I'm told to update the ofw, then I'm told doing that is gonna get rid of my cfw, some random ass French YouTube tutorial I found is clearly the most scammy thing I've ever seen in the world trying to take advantage of morons like me who can't understand this stuff. What the shit am I to do? Just download the psx place 4.93 update and put that shit on my ps3? I've been through multiple chains and it always reaches a point where there's five conflicting answers that equally helped the people pursuing this. What do I download and install? I can tell this is a very easy process that my retard brain is missing a part of intensely.

Yesterday I bought a used PS3 Slim to mod it, I brought it home, tested with MinVerChk and it should be moddable. I was following a guide and it was telling me to use the ps3 browser and use Ps3toolset to download the tool, but when clicking on system manager it displayed a "Tool could not be downloaded" error. I tried rebooting, clearing everything, adjusting date/time setting but nothing. Is the actual site down? If so, how can I go about modding the console? My current version is 4.85, should I update to the latest 4.93 version?

Any guidance would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

So I have a PS3 CECH-3004A and I still had the original HDD in it but it died so I ordered myself a 256GB SSD From a German in brand in my country called "Intenso" because I always liked their products so I build the SSD into my ps3 and reinstalled HFW and HEN again but when I tried to install HEN it took multiple tries with the HDD it worked first try so I managed to install HEN and it runs not all when I click Enable HEN nothing happens as well when I try it from the browser and when it does work and I open an Homebrew app the system just crashes and asks me to reformat I heard other people claim to SSDs caused crashes on their modded ps3s but I wanted to ask what can I do to fix this? Should I get a New HDD instead or are there Good stable SSDs for the PS3 and does anyone have similar issues?

Hi, recenly started using my ps3 again, i remembered that i had to update it and after that the ps3 4k pro mod appeared to have dissapeared, but whenever i enable hen the notification of ps3 4k pro mod still pops up, the program to install it is also not on my ps3 anymore and im sacred to redownload it and do stupid stuff (like bricking my ps3). does anyone know a solution?

Which of the 3 should i get for modding? I plan on playing rhythm games (Rock Band 3, Green Day Rock Band, Guitar Hero Metallica and Guitar Hero Smash Hits) and occasionally Crash Bash.

J'avais utilisé ce logiciel il y a tres longtemps, ça fonctionnais nickel, j'ai voulus le réinstaller en 2026 et je ne sais pas pourquoi mais je n'arrive plus a mettre des cheats codes sur mes sauvegardes

Quasiment toute les casses en dessous sont grisées peu importe le jeu:

J'ai reussi a mettre les cheats, mais au lieu de m'ouvrir une fenetre comme les tutos que j'ai pus voir sur Youtube, ça m'affiche un menu déroulant et j'ai comme options "Edit Cheats" "Open Patch File In Patch Creator" et "Open Patch File in Text Editor"

Et quand je vais dans edit cheats, je peux cocher les cheats que je veux appliquer, mais quand j'appuies sur "save" ça ne me sauvegarde rien et je ne peux même pas cliquer sur "Update PFD" ou "Encrypt PFD", donc impossible d'appliquer des cheats sur ma save, peu importe le jeu.

J'ai mis a jour le "games.conf" ainsi que le dossier cheat.

Si jamais quelqu'un a une solution, je suis prenneur,

I recently pulled my PS3 out of storage and discovered it fails to boot. I reset the video settings and now the system crashes after asking if I want to switch to HDMI (both yes and no crash the system to a black screen). Safe mode doesn’t do much either, I can load into it but rebuild database and restore system didn’t fix anything. So then I tried to reinstall with a system update but that just causes the system to freeze to a point where I have to hold the power button for 15 seconds to shut it off. I am at a loss on what is going on. It worked totally fine last time it was used. Any info on what this may be helps.

EDIT: somehow the video cable I was using was making the PS3 feign a RSX failure since the issue always occurred when the system asks if I wanted to switch to high resolution over HDMI. I guess the PS3 does not like Nintendo switch video cables.

My PS3 CECHE01 started acting up a few weeks ago, so I began looking for another backward-compatible console. I’ve been offered this CECHA01 with these stats—is the usage time good? What worries me, though, is the "602" count; do those represent bad shutdowns? Is it a good buy? The console has never been opened.

Earlier this month I ported Half Life 1, Half Life Blue Shift and Half Life Opposing Force to the Playstation 3. Stating that I was also going to port Counter Strike 1.6 and Team Fortress Classic later on. Since CS is the one that required most work it was the first one I ported and It's close to completion, currently in the polish phase. It can finally play online and most importantly, it can crossplay with other clients! (pic is Steam CS 1.6 and the other side is my PS3) I'll be working on Team Fortress Classic next. I still need to think of a button layout that could work for both CS and TFC, but It's coming out great so far. ETA for TFC and CS should be mid September. I also hope to add some new QoL features that will apply to HL1+expansions as well.

Ok so I just want to know how to go from 4.88 ofw to 4.93 evilnat.

Does it go like this. -> install 4.93 hfw

-> flash writer nand patch

-> install 4.93 cfw

Or do I need to do 4.88 hfw then flash write then 4.88 cfw then 4.93 cfw? What's the process. You can't find nothing from ofw anymore it's annoying

Hello, im new to the ps3 homebrew community and I recently decided to put ps3hen on my ps3 super slim model (it’s my childhood ps3 console so no previous software modifications has been done to it) the installation when well and so far everything looked promising as packages manager showed up. My issue starts after installing pkgs from package manager (I’m trying to get multiman and apollo as that’s all I really need) the install will complete and as I go back to xmb to go look for multiman/apollo no icons show up for either or.

P.S. - yes ps3hen is always enabled as I need it to access package manager. I also already tried rebuilding data plenty of times aswell as trying to reinstall hen but the issues persists.

I’m trying to finish my trophy list for Devil may cry 3 but everytime I use Apollo save tool it doesn’t work I leave one easy trophy go unlock it but no platinum and it always says it’s at 47% I even tried it with Deadpool and the same thing I’ve deleted the trophy list and did it over and over again I waited to log into psn for the trophy to pop and still nothing I’m totally lost on what to do can someone PLEASE help me
