I wanted to share this because it was actually super wholesome.
To those who don't know what "I can't wait until you give up!" World Pro Wrestling was...it was NJPW's attempt to increase ratings in 1987 when they had their flagship show be part variety part wrestling...the best way to describe it is...
Imagine if Monday Night RAW was part Pat Mcafee Show and part actual wrestling.
The Television ratings went down every single-week. Funnily enough, there are actually some segments that I think were interesting, but on this same episode you had the Infamous story of Kuniko Yamada, the girl on the right, asking Hiroshi Hase an insanely dumb question of something like "does the blood stop when you get backstage?" and then Hase getting pretty rude with her. Knowing the full context now it feels like Hase didn't want to be on there in general just by his facial expression though how much of that is kayfabe or not, I don't know.

Tamura transferred to Akira Maeda's promotion, Rings, in 1996 and continued battling the world's top talents until his departure in 2001
Starting around the summer of 2000, Tamura began openly demanding improvements to Rings' operations in magazines and elsewhere..
Reports also surfaced of his dissatisfaction over pay, match scheduling, exclusive contracts, and more
From Maeda's perspective, Tamura—whom he had groomed as the promotion's ace—was now publicly criticizing the organization's structure, and ultimately left Rings to go independent.

On paper SWS should have taken over wrestling in Japan. It has huge backing, more than AJPW and NJPW at the time. It had Tenryu as its ace and a partnership with WWE. But the Japanese economy fell, fans were put off by the WWE cartoonish style, and SWS shows were average at best. But what if these problems were solved in one way or another and SWS succeeded? How would puroresu looked like in the 90s and beyond?

FMW closed in 2002 months after Hayabusa suffered his career ending injury. But what if he didn’t and still wrestled into 2002 and beyond? Also with FMW still closing then where does he go? AJPW? NOAH? NJPW? or does he go to WWE or TNA?

9/1 UPDATE
I downloaded the WU app and although my set up is not on a supported devices or services, the Airplay quality from my phone doesn't have any of the issues I was experiencing streaming through the browser. It ties up my phone but at this point IDGAF and I'm thrilled to have access to a watchable stream again.
8/30 UPDATE
Leaning toward HDMI to iPhone for quick cheap fix but would ultimately like to figure something out that doesn't make my phone inaccessible.
Curious what folks know/think about Chromecast?
I'm a little confused: I've seen people refer to accessing the WU App in a way that sounds similar to NJW on Roku by navigating menu icons with the TV remote.
But then when I looked into the product a little more generally (outside of a WU context) it appears to be a device that the user beams to from another device, "AirPlay"-style. Does it do both and do you have any intel about using it for WU?

I want to stream Wrestle Universe on my TV. From looking around & based on my setup, I think I want to get an Amazon Fire Stick.
Does anyone have any tips, or would you recommend another product for some reason? My goal (if achievable) is to stream from Wrestle Universe as smoothly as I do New Japan World via Roku.
I have a Samsung TU7000, generic cheap smart tv. If you know of a way to access Wrestle Universe through the TV and a new subscription, that's maybe even better, but i don't know think that exists.
Some context: I posted about this previously relative to getting a Roku in time for Best of Super Juniors, and have enjoyed it ever since.
For years, I've used Air Play from my laptop/phone, but the quality is very poor (lag, distracting choppy, freezing picture with audio progressing).
It's finally time to find a respectable way to watch Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling, like an adult.

Nakajima was 15/16 years old and for his debut MMA fight Choshu gets him a weak jobber. Unlike CM punk who looked awful against two jobbers in UFC, Nakajima does what any credible fighter should do when facing scrub jobber MMA guys and that's destroy them with while looking fantastic.

Fujiwara was so angry with Yasuda performance. Fuming how easy it was for Coleman to beat him. Fujiwara had no issue letting Yasuda know how angry he was so after the match he decided to beat up Yasuda himself. Fujiwara being his coach won't accept any of his students putting up such a weak dismal fight in the ring.
