Happy 77th Birthday To Stewart Kennedy 🥳🥳🥳

Stewart Kennedy, born in Stirling on 31 August 1949, is a former Scottish goalkeeper best remembered for his time with Rangers during the 1970s. After spells with Dunfermline Athletic, Linlithgow Rose and Stenhousemuir, Kennedy joined Rangers in 1973 and went on to make more than 100 appearances in all competitions for the Ibrox club.

Kennedy played a particularly important role in Rangers’ 1974–75 championship-winning season, appearing throughout the league campaign as the club ended Celtic’s dominance and won its first Scottish league title in 11 years. During his Rangers career he collected two league championship medals, in 1975 and 1978, as well as two Scottish League Cup winners’ medals. His performances also earned him five Scotland caps during 1975.

Kennedy left Rangers in 1980 and joined Forfar Athletic, where he became a long-serving figure and remained for more than a decade. He later briefly came out of retirement to make one appearance for St Johnstone during the 1991–92 season. Kennedy is remembered as a dependable goalkeeper who played an important part in Rangers’ return to the top of Scottish football during the mid-1970s.

Discussion A Question About Namesets:

Recently bought a plane Home shirt from the 2010/11 season that I used to own when I was younger. I’ve also became increasingly interested in heat pressing and thought; is there anywhere that sells old (2010/11 era) SPL or, ideally, Ranger’s UCL namesets? Not really looking for a reproduction.

Any help is appreciated. Sorry if it’s the wrong flair, not really sure what else to put it down as. (:

Club Statements Following appeal, manager Derek McInnes’ Scottish FA touchline ban has been reduced to two matches, with a further two matches suspended. He will therefore watch Wednesday’s trip to Falkirk and Saturday’s Ibrox match with Motherwell from the stands.

Discussion Thank God For The Victory

We won against Aberdeen. Yes it wasn't the most pleasing football I have ever seen but what an exciting match. Shanklands penalty gave me nerves but actually paid off. As for Aberdeen the threw everything at us today but it looks like the team is finally starting to come together.

Let's hope that this match is the beginning of the Rangers FC we all want to see and a Rangers that can do something against celtic in the quarter finals of the League Cup. WATP 🟥⬜️🟦

First Team Are we back yet?

EDIT

Okay obviously we’re not back far from it. But could Kim n Kelsy be a game changer? I’m seeing talk of Cerny, maybe another defender?

Thursday was shite, but for the first time in a long time we’ve got an opportunity to focus on domestic games and build. We’re not ready for Europe.

First Team Is it just me that thinks our recruitment isn’t that bad?

We’ve slightly adopted a player trading model - Raskin, Fernandez (hopefully), Chermiti in theory, Igamane, Jefté - and out of the tons of dunces we’ve signed we’ve been able to recoup the initial fee we paid this season on some.

In terms of attacking, Naderi is alright and Shankland, while fat, I believe was still a good signing on a free. Yokata has been great so far and Gassama is class on form. We need another CB, a competent CDM, a RW, and also a new manager. I see us able to do those things.

I didn’t think we should have hired McInnes at all and “knowing the club” means nothing. If, and I hope, he goes soon and we bring in someone who can do what our players are suited for - not a man for man press - and bring in a physical holding midfielder I think we could improve. No Europe, which is shit, but means we can, as much as it pains me to say, focus on the league.

I don’t see us winning anything this year and I believe this year is a year closer to rock bottom. Again, as it pains me to say it, the only way is up. Either up or we just continue to circle the drain, which I hope we won’t do based on some of our past transfers. Some, and by far the majority, are absolute nonces but we’ve uncovered a few good ones.
