Needs Rehoming 🐾 4-5 week old kitten needs home, missing part of back leg, willing to travel, live in Ohio

I have a 4-5 week old kitten who is missing part of their back left leg. I believe it is a female but I’m not sure yet. They are still struggling to walk around due to this they will likely need low litter box and food dishes. I live in Ohio but I’m willing to travel. Id prefer someone with experience with kittens Especially. They are good with other cats, they had other dogs in their past situation but I’m not sure if it would be the best environment but I’m sure it could work if dogs are well behaved.

Edit: I believe I have found a home for this little one, I feel really good about it after talking to many people on multiple platforms. Thank you all for your kindness and help!

Needs Rehoming 🐾 Cat abandoned at hotel needs rehoming

Post image

We live in a hotel where someone had abandoned a cat in one of the rooms. My mother the housekeeper and I took it in for a bit, but we cannot keep it. Not enough space with two people and a big dog. Plus the cat is young and energetic, and we are not. It needs a better home. We're calling it Charlie. There are also feral cats around the hotel and Charlie seems to be an indoor cat, so it's not safe to let it out, and join the group of feral cats.

1634 North US1 Ormond Beach Florida 32174

Edit: Thank you all for your suggestions and help. As of now we are waiting for the rescuers at Historical_Duck_8238. Charlie will be going with them, and hopefully find a forever home. Again thank you for your help and suggestions

Needs Rehoming 🐾 Needs home desperately! Black cat located in Ohio US but willing to drive anywhere in U.S.

We rescued this black/tuxedo female cat to prevent euthanasia. We thought maybe we could keep her as we have 4 other cats but she is FIV+ and while they said she was friendly with other cats she hasn’t been doing very well with ours. I found her a home then they dropped out right before I was about to drive 10 hours for her. I have this weekend off, I am willing to drive anywhere in the US. I am willing to help cover costs and even “sponsor her”. I’ll take her back if ever needed as well. She is spayed, microchipped (you can set up), flea and worm treated and other than FIV she is healthy - she is a bit overweight we have her on scheduled eating with dry and wet food once in the morning and once at night and that has been helping her lose weight.

This is Squid, and he is unable to eat/ drink properly out of a regular cat bowl. He needs to have his paws in the dish to keep himself stable while he basically pecks at his food. He needs a wall or surface to lean on to drink his water. My friend has made many accommodations for him, including giving him several spots to sleep/ hide, that he can get to very easily. He also needs a wall to lean on while he uses the litter box, but he does get his butt dirty. He frequently falls into his own potty. He's not very good at cleaning himself and so he does get very dirty and stinky, he’s is bathed every week sometimes more often. He's a very talkative boy, loves to yell. He's very cuddly with every human he meets, and loves to be pet. He also does this thing when he gets overstimulated or upset, where he scrunches up into a ball really tight and then flings himself outwards. He cannot jump or walk or run, but he can launch himself with his back feet. He tries to walk sometimes and he can get in a few steps but he loses balance. He's pretty much always flopping around or army crawling. He loves to sleep in little hidey holes and inside my sheets. My friend has to rehome him by the end of September because their mom needs their bedroom because hers as black mold, and also they aren’t able to care for him as best as they can. He needs more support.

Needs Rehoming 🐾 Urgently rehoming cat (Statesboro GA)

Statesboro, GA: Urgently needing to rehome my beloved cat, Oscar. He’s 3 years old, about 14 pounds and neutered. We adopted him from Bulloch County Animal Shelter in Fall of 2023 and routinely have taken him to Statesboro Bulloch Regional Veterinary Hospital. We can provide all vet records.

He currently lives in a house with 2 other cats, both female. Due to us moving and not having the ability to separate him from the other cats anymore when he is aggressive, we are needing to rehome him.

We think he would be best as an only cat and with someone who can spend a lot of time with him and playing with him as he is very energetic (which we think partially contributes to his aggression). He is a cuddle bug and loves to be with someone at all times. He has never bitten or been agressive towards humans and he loves kids.

Please message me for more information. For a small fee, we can provide a carrier and food for him. I’m distraught that we need to rehome him but this is what is best for him.

Needs Rehoming 🐾 Rehoming medically needy cat

Post image
435 Upvotes

Edit to update: I haven't heard back from majority of the rescues I've reached out to. That being said, it's kitten season and it's easily the worst time to be trying to rehome an adult cat with medical issues. I did hear back from Feline Freedom society, they have 90 cats/kittens and all fosters are full, but they gave me two other places to reach out to. Will update again when I have something worth updating.

I also want to thank everyone, everyone has been so kind here, and it means more than you know.

Edit to add: His monthly/med costs I currently get his Inhaler through CVS for $160 every 3 months, he's on one puff a day atm, but could go back to needing two puffs a day. A rescue did find his inhaler through a Canadian pharmacy for $60, but I haven't called the vet yet to see how/if that would work as I don't need to refill it yet. His SSRI is $15 a month through vet pharmacy, he takes 5mg once a day, once he's settled in his new home, he could likely come off these. But personally he seems overall a lot happier on them. The urinary feed, the cheapest wet ice been able to find that's prescribed, which is what he really needs, will be about $150 a month. I've been doing OTC and maybe it's not had time to work, but I haven't seen any real improvements.

I'm in Burnsville, NC, willing to travel 3hrs one way to meet anyone if it meant getting him help. Gas is expensive af or I'd be willing to go further. If someone further was able to help him, I'll gladly do whatever I can to assist in getting him to you. I just want my baby to be able to be his happy self again.

Hey everyone! This is Mr. Kitty, he has asthma, and is on an SSRI both were totally affordable on our income. However recently he has been having some urinary issues and unfortunately his feed alone has pushed him well beyond our affordability.

I have reached out to every rescue and shelter I can think of, even some out of state, nobody has been able to help beyond one place offering to pay for his food for a short bit, but they didn't specify how long a short bit was and I see how overwhelmed shelters are, and I know if he needs vet care again I'll need to be able to rely on them.

If anyone is able to please take this sweet boy, I don't want to rehome him, but his needs are beyond my means and I'm just praying someone out there is able to help him. He deserves so much more than I can offer, this economy has been terrible for everyone and as always emergencies never hit when it's convenient.

For anyone curious, I had care credit before, but my dog passed from IMHA in 4 days, last year, after I had a miscarriage and got into 2 separate car accidents, it was a lot of processing that I still haven't fully processed and in all the mess care credit tried to pull money from the wrong card twice and it resulted in the closure of the card. Outside of that, I've struggled finding employment, so we're working with one income on top of it all.

Please, if anyone is able to foster him, or even adopt him, he's a very sweet boy, he's very good about taking his medicine, he comes with all his medicine and the supplies and I'm beyond willing to go over every little aspect of this cat to make sure he goes where he needs to. I'll forever be blessed to have even got to experience this cat, and I'll never stop loving him, but my love for him is too great to let him suffer and have to be put to sleep if someone else can help him.

Please don't comment with advice on how I can keep him. He's already a medically needy cat, he's about to hit senior year's, the vet and I have discussed with how needy he already is, it's a high likely hood he will have more medical needs later in life, and if I already can't afford to care for this 3rd thing, I certainly won't be able to handle a 4th or 5th. If we can't rehome him and things do get worse, we have considered the possibility of putting him to sleep, I'm not just going to let my baby be miserable forever, and I'm absolutely not in a place to get him any of the surgeries, not to mention I really don't have a good place for him to rest and recover.

Please don't come here to be mean, I've got enough hateful comments about how I'm giving up on him and I'm not trying hard enough. I'd literally sell my kidney for him if it meant he had a 100% guarantee of being back to my happy, active, goofy little boy. But there's no guarantee he'll ever have any quality of life again after this, and as much as it sucks, I'm not even able to give him to opportunity to be better, but maybe you or someone you know is?

I've posted him on Asheville Cat weirdos, I've asked any friends I can think of to ask their friends, I've asked the random small rescues if they know anyone, I've asked rescues as far as Charlotte and in TN. I know it's a slow process, but just to have any form of possibility is better than nothing. I've called and messaged several other rescues, I can't think of all the names unfortunately.

UPDATE: WE FOUND A FOSTER. Dewey left last night to an extremely kind woman in cape coral who has experience with disabled cats and fosters. Which means no shelter and in a month once we have housing stable again I can come back for him. I'm so grateful for everyone's support and help and happy I don't have to leave him forever and be heartbroken

help PLEASE! I'm so ashamed to be asking this, but my orange cat named Dewey has to be rehomed. I lost my house months ago and have been struggling to care for my special needs boy. I have to move to a different state to stay with family but dewey is absolutely not allowed. I love him so much, but he doesn't deserve to be abandoned at a shelter that might kill him simply because he's disabled. Dewey is urinary incontinent due to a tail pull injury when he was younger (he's about 2 years old) and was a stray stuck sitting in his own waste. His genitals were fully removed and he has a pinhole to pee. However he can run, play, jump etc like any normal loving cat. He simply just needs to be expressed twice a day. (Aka just push on his bladder for him to pee, he can poop completely on his own). He doesn't need meds or complicated care. I'm in the cape coral/fort myers area so please someone help me make sure he is still happy in a new home

Hello everyone! I have found a stray cat that no one has claimed, I would 100% keep her but I have birds. She is amazing, I actually don't usually like cats but she has actually turned me into a cat person in 4 days. She is attached to people at the hip, I can't pee without her trying to sleep on my legs. No idea about her age or anything but she seems to be in healthy condition, teeth are very healthy albeit small. A lot of people dump dogs and cats near our house for some reason so she may have been dumped. I am located in East TN and would prefer to find her a home where I know someone will take care of her. I'm trying to avoid the pound at all costs, but with us having birds I will have to take her very soon. Any help is appreciated!

UPDATE 2: we have a solution! I was able to get ahold of the good folks at Kitty City, and they’re sending a volunteer to come pick up the cats for fostering. It’s not something they normally do, but after explaining the extremity of the situation (details I’m not sharing online), they’re making an exception.

THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone for all the suggestions, resources, prayers and sharing. I can’t express my gratitude that there are still so many good people out there. Moving this edit to the top of the post for visibility.

Here’s the original:

These two lovely cats have suddenly found themselves without an owner (terminally ill), and I’m only able to be in town for the weekend. They’re around 4-5 years old and very sweet. All the shelters I’ve been able to contact are full, and there will be nobody at home with them after tomorrow - this has all been extremely sudden. Please help!
I honestly don’t know much else about the cats, but want to do all I can to make sure they’re taken care of!

EDIT: I do not live here. I flew in from out of state and have to fly back tomorrow! The apartment they are in will become vacant after I leave because the owner is unable to return.

UPDATE: several of you have mentioned Furry Friends Rockin’ Rescue. I’ve reached out to them (among other places) and filled out forms, but haven’t been able to reach an actual person to talk to. If anyone knows of an actual phone number to call for them, that would be immensely helpful!

Meet Hansen 💙

A purrfectly imperfect 10ish year old, three legged sweetheart with the gentlest heart.

Hansen was once an outdoor stray, fed by a kind woman, until he disappeared over winter and later returned frostbitten and injured. Now he is living his second life as a cozy, lazy indoor kitty, exactly where he belongs.

He is a total snuggler who loves deeply and freely. When he curls up beside you, it feels like home. He chirps, trills, and always wants to chat. He has never scratched or bitten, ever. Despite having three legs, he gets around just fine, stairs and furniture are no problem, and nothing slows him down.

Hansen is amazing with kids, dogs, and other cats, and he adapts easily to new people. He uses a litter box with adapted setups, is allowed on furniture, and sleeps in bed. His vaccinations will need to be updated.

He does have a digestive issue and is starting to need a little more help with self care. I am a medical student with long, unpredictable hours, and as much as this breaks my heart, Hansen deserves more time and presence than I can give right now.

If you are looking for a calm, loving companion who will choose you every single day, Hansen is waiting 🤍

Please share to help him find his forever home.

My son's dad is facing eviction because he hasn't had a steady or reliable income this year. He hurt his knee and shoulder when he fell through a manhole cover. He's had various interviews but no one calls him for a job. We rescued a mama calico cat Sketchy Cheddar Brookie, her 8 month old orange kitten Creamsicle from her first litter, and a second litter of 7 lil angels. I need to find these babies homes because I dont want them to go to a shelter and have them be killed. He has emotional support paperwork for cheddar and Creamsicle. Im in Bellflower, California. Im praying for a miracle. In the meantime please help me find homes for these angels from God.

Needs Rehoming 🐾 Follow up on Boots, the senior cat who is finding her life again. Eugene, Oregon USA.

A little over a week ago we came across a sweet grey and white cat living outside in our neighborhood here in Lane County, Oregon. She was skin and bones, her spine and hips showing, drooling, and in so much pain that she would cry out and back away from her own food. We later learned her name is Boots.

Her previous owner loved her dearly. But after becoming a single mom through some very hard years, she could no longer care for her, and made the heartbreaking choice to let her go to someone who could. So we stepped in. We got her off the street and into a vet within about 48 hours.

What we found out is that her whole ordeal came down to her mouth. She has advanced dental disease, and eating had simply become too painful. That is why a cat with a strong appetite was wasting away. She was not refusing food. She was hurting. Her family said the trouble started back around December, when feeding time began making her cry.

The good news from her vet visit was better than we dared hope. She tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia. Her kidney, thyroid, and blood sugar results all came back healthy. She had some mild anemia, very likely from fleas and being so run down, and that is the one thing we are helping her rebuild from before she is ready for her dental procedure. She has been treated for fleas, dewormed, cleaned up, and started on pain relief and antibiotics.

We also learned she was spayed as a kitten back in 2016. We even managed to get her baby photos from her old family, and that little white nose blaze and those white paws are unmistakably the same girl. That makes her a senior, somewhere around 9 or 10 years old.

The change in her over the past week has been something to witness. She is safe indoors now, in her own quiet room. She is eating eagerly, filling out, and her coat is coming back. She has started grooming herself again, something she could not do when her mouth hurt so badly. She plays with her toys, perches in the window watching the trees, and spends her evenings curled up purring in our laps. Her previous family said she is wonderful with children, and she is gentle and trusting with everyone she meets.

She still has a real road ahead. Her dental surgery is a big one, with x rays, extractions of the teeth too far gone to save, and full anesthesia monitoring because of her age. But every day she gets a little stronger and a little more like herself, and the vet found no underlying reason she should not make a full recovery once her mouth is fixed.

She went from a dying cat in a garden to a purring girl in a warm window in about a week. For a senior cat who had every reason to give up, she has decided very clearly that she wants to live.

If her story moves you and you want to know more about her or how things are going, feel free to reach out. Mostly we just wanted to share where she started, and how far this sweet old soul has already come. 🐾

She will very much be in need of her new forver home very soon.

Needs Rehoming 🐾 NEED TO FIND MARNIE A HOME BY TOMORROW NASHVILLE,TENNESSEE (urgent and medically sensitive)

I can no longer afford to keep my sweet Marnie girl. I have tried finding a rescue to work with us but EVERYWHERE is either full/closing or won’t reply to me. It’s been hard to rehome her due to being transparent of her possible health issues. I can’t afford to take her to the vet, she deserves more.

I’ve been looking frantically for weeks. I have until tomorrow to find her a new home or I have to surrender her to a shelter.

Marnie has some health issues and I can’t afford to take her to the vet. She has dermatitis of the skin (she had fleas a few weeks back, treated but she was allergic to them). So she’s a bit scabby right now.

She also seems to have Feline Hyperesthesia Syndrome (FHS) (possibly something else), a condition where cats experience sudden, intense bursts of abnormal behavior, including twitching, rippling skin, and other symptoms. I can’t afford to get her a official diagnosis yet but based on her symptoms a friend whose a vet says this is likely. She is also a Manx cat and I saw Manx cat syndrome upon looking but unsure.

She also likes her box VERY VERY clean so you’d have to commit to cleaning it a few times a day and maybe put a pee pad outside the entrance of her box.

She’s so so so sweet, she doesn’t deserve to go to a shelter where she’ll likely be killed for these issues.

I am disabled myself and can barely afford to care for myself. I want her to have better than this, but I am getting worse myself. I have lupus with multiple organs effects and having multiple cats is too hard on my body. I have to go out of state for a treatment with a specialist WEDNESDAY morning and I need to find somewhere for her before then. Please please help us. I’ve tried everything. All I’ve done for weeks is try to find a rescue home for her.

We found this sweet little girl on the side of a busy road early this morning after work. She ran right up to me and we made sure to get her home and some food and a bath to get her cleaned up. She’s the sweetest thing ever and just purrs non stop. We already have 3 cats and one of them does not get along with her at all. All she really wants is someone to be with her and shower her with head scratches. I will supply food and other things for her I just want her to go to a loving home so she doesn’t have to be outside anymore.

Hi there!

I am helping a friend out in the SoCal/LA county region share this message. They have extended out to so many resources and I just want to help Nibbler the cat find his next safe place and hopefully his next home! Does anybody have any resources or connections in this area to help us out?! Is anybody interested in housing Nibbler or know somebody that is?

The person helping Nibbler out has tried many different rescues. The rescues just made him go to another site and post Nibbler there. Not much help.

Nibbler has been thru a lot. Found a home, those people traumatized him, my friend got him back to normal again. He’s a big black cat, very friendly, gets along with some cats and dogs, others not so much. Really depends on the other pet. Would need to do a trial period to make sure it’s a good fit if it’s a new home. My friend thinks needs a home with another pet as he has a LOT of energy. My friend’s brother fostered him for 6 months and he said he just couldn’t play with him as much as he seemed to want or need.

My friend said that he is happy to give a full rundown to anybody interested in housing him or to a rescue. He is fixed and chipped and has all his shots. The rescue that my friend previously found, who “helped” him lost all his paperwork though.

Nibbler is in Rosemead now. My friend is going to tell people they have to come meet Nibbler first, and he will be vetting them. Highly recommend they have a cat, preferably young female, so he’s not alone and he needs a playmate. There will be a rehoming fee of $100, which include his cat litter box, cat litter, food, electronic feeder and toys. You can see more info on in my friend’s TNR/rescue account which I can link if interested!

It’s a long story, that frankly belongs in r/vent, but my hands been forced, and I need to give my two cats a new home. I’m in to college and my mom refuses to give the care they deserve anymore.

We live in northeastern Kansas, probably a 30 minute drive to Kansas City. If you are interested just reply here or dm me. Alternatively if you know any good shelters that I can put my cats in that would be appreciated. In two days I’m hoping to give my mom a clear answer for what we will do with the cats (put them in a shelter or find them a new home). Finally, while this is not at all a requirement it would be preferred that they stay together since they’ve been together all their lives

Details:

Chloe is the one laying on her back in the picture. She is very loving and likes to cuddle up with the people she likes. She’s also good with dogs, that is if the dogs are calm and not too up in her face. Chloe is about 8 years old now.

Toothless, we named her after the dragon from how train your dragon (she does not lack teeth). She can be very talkative, and while not the most cuddly of cats she loves to play if you engage with her. She’s always been shy around strangers and I imagine she may take a while to settle into a new environment. I should also mention she is a little “chunky”, but adorable. Toothless is 7 years old.

Anyway, if you’re interested let me know. If you know any good shelters in my area, let me know. If you have any questions about them, let me know.

These 2 are around 10 months old and I’ve been looking to rehome them since they were little kittens and got their other 5 siblings adopted young but I’ve been struggling. Before I moved here I lived in a rural area of Florida that was notorious for dumping and wound up with many cats, with no one to adopt them no matter how hard I tried cause there was so many everywhere. I moved here and brought them hoping it’d be better but I haven’t had luck rehoming these 2. People want little kittens. They are both extremely sweet and spayed and looking for a good home/homes. They don’t HAVE to go together but id really prefer it.

Hello everybody !

I am looking for a home for a stray cat that is FIV+.

For the past two weeks there has been a stray cat in my backyard that doesn’t leave so I started feeding it. It’s the sweetest cat ever and you could tell it just wants love. I decided to take it to the vet because it looked to skinny and they informed me he is FIV+. I would love to keep him but my mom is strictly against animals inside. I would feel terrible to just leave it outside specially because FIV+ cats need to be inside. If there is anybody that wants to adopt it or knows a rescue shelter in Southern California (L.A) please let me know.

It is a boy that has been neutered and has his vaccines

Needs Rehoming 🐾 SOS!!! Seeking Home for: Sweet Senior Stray End-of-Life Care in NJ

Floof, a senior stray from my neighborhood, who had a leg injury is now at the vet being treated for a bite wound infection, but the doctor also noticed fluid in his tummy, along with a hard mass. She thinks it's cancer, but is unsure. He is also quite jaundiced.

The vet along with the non-profit I work with decided Floofington is unfit for the outdoors.

He has been a stray his whole life, but since I trapped him, has been super chill, shown zero signs of aggression, and even let the vet administer eye drops. He is a sweet, peaceful, quiet old man (although we don't know his exact age), hard of hearing, and a little shy, but when you feed him meows excitedly.

That said, he has been eating and drinking water, and using the litterbox exceptionally well, which is why we don't think it's ethical or necessary to euthanize him, but instead find the right home for end-of-life care. Ideally, where he can live out the rest of his days, cozy, indoors, with a nice window, no dogs, and lots of places to hide quietly, and most importantly all the love and warmth he deserves.

Floof is based in NJ and is FIV positive, but FELV negative. He is also not neutered, but can be.

The non-profit I work with will be conducting screenings this week. We are hoping to have him all healed by the end of next week and then placed in his over-due furrrrrever home.

Please send me a direct message if you feel you are the right fit.

Thank you!

Needs Rehoming 🐾 Help rehoming 3 friendly stray cats 🐾 (Miami area)

Thumbnail

Hi everyone, I’m hoping to find safe, loving homes (or rescue support) for three stray cats I’ve been caring for over the past couple of years.

I had to relocate to Chicago for work, and while my elderly father in the Miami area is still feeding them daily, continuing to care for them long-term isn’t sustainable for him. These cats are used to people, gentle, and deserve more stability than we can provide outdoors.

Meet the crew:

Mama Cat — calm, sweet, and watchful

Blue — curious and friendly

China — quieter, gentle, and affectionate once comfortable

I’m not looking to just “get rid” of them — I truly want the right situation, whether that’s:

A patient adopter

Needs Rehoming 🐾 URGENT: Mama and baby need a new home in Sydney, Australia

Hi there, a friend of a friend who is allergic to cats, rescued two girls from her backyard, a mama and a baby! I have a studio apartment and can't realistically keep them on, but am happy to temporarily look after tham aluntil they can be fostered or rehomed!

Both are tiny and mama is very young herself. Baby is super friendly, but mama shows no outward aggression, just reserved for the time being.

If you are in Sydney, Australia near Eastwood and can help, that would be appreciated! I am happy to send them with some extra food, blankets and toys!
