Can I participate in welcome week events next fall semester if I start in the spring semester?
Would I even need to be "welcomed" at that point if I've already done a semester there?

Hello, So i grew up in the ETX area, went to WTX for oilfield work after getting my 2 years at a cc out in ETX.
In the oilfield i haven’t really improved my social skills like at all just 12
-16 hour shifts of doing nothing but eat sleep and shower in my time off. since i was like 21
Could I join a frat, and catch up on life and party some. Obviously i wouldn’t let it take away from my schoolwork. But I was curious if it happens here?

Good afternoon! I am transferring to SFA this spring and was wondering, what are some good housing options nearby? Is there any places you reccomend or suggest i stay away from? Thank you and have a great day.

Looking for anyone in SFA/Nacogdoches area interested in started a nerf club!
For anyone unfamiliar nerf is a growing hobby of using modded/3d printed dart blasters to play fun games similar to airsoft/paintball but much less firearm looking and much less dangerous! I would really like to start holding meets with anyone who would like to join and can even set up an SFA sponsorship to hopefully give us some areas to play. If anyone is interested please comment here or dm me for more information!

Hi, I want to ask, has anyone had problems with their financial aid at the moment like the pell grants and loans they applied to haven't added to their account just yet? I know they extended the due date from August 18 to August 20th, but I want to know if any got the money added to their accounts or not.
If anyone has any info, please let me know. Thank you!!

Anyone have any luck with getting borrower defense approved that went to Stephen F. Austin State University (SFASU), specifically the BSN program? I’m wanting to apply but having a hard time wrapping my head around all the qualifications and if any apply to me. Thanks in advance!

Hi! i know this is a long shot to put on reddit but i figured why not. i’m gonna be a sophomore this fall and looking to make more friends. im definitely gonna talk to more people on campus and just be more social overall but i thought it wouldn’t hurt to put something on the internet too just in case. i’m 19M, pretty chill person but i like to go out on weekends, not some huge party animal though. i’m very left leaning (which i know isn’t super common here) and accepting of anyone not spreading hate. i love video games in my free time as well, mainly minecraft, terraria, call of duty, ark, and pokémon. another thing i love to do on my free time is walk/bike around town through some of the trails or neighborhoods. Also love listening to music which for me is mostly alternative and emo/ emo adjacent. if anyone’s interested and wants to hang out or go to some parties or something when school starts just send a message thanks!

22 M, looking to find people to hit with? Not in the tennis club or affiliated with the school; just moved here. Seems to be primarily a pickleball scene here. I don't really want to play with old old ppl and play slow ball but don't also want to play with the HS players (they're minors) so yeah

I'm looking for the best SFA custom school to download for College Football 27. There's several STARS available but just want to know if there's one that's accurate with players, coaches, a realistic Homer Bryce, mainly recruiting out of Houston, partnered with Under Armor and hopefully SHSU as a rival (I'm still bitter) plus any other realistic details that I'm missing.

Hello! I have been at community college for two years and I’m starting at SFA in the fall as a junior. I’m excited but I don’t know how to overcome the dread I feel over such a routine change. Any advice?

I'm an upcoming freshman, majoring in psychology (pursuing a BS). I need to sign up for a few more courses. So far, i'm thinking of Music Appreciation, and Govt. I'm waitlisted for my Psych course and registered for math. I am curious on which professors/classes I should avoid and which i should take to maximize my time, money, and effort.

I know this may be a long shot but I failed to take the measurements I needed at orientation. Does anyone happen to have the exact length of the “nook” where the bed goes, and the exact width of the beds including the posts? I have used the housing website and FB and insta posts to get a general idea, but I’m looking for an exact number of inches if anyone has them (crossing my fingers it’s 84” lol).

Hello!
I recently got my acceptance letter to SFA to start in the Fall 2026 semester. I was so excited that I completely forgot that I still have one class to take left for my major, to get my associates degree but I've capped out my allowed summer credits.
It's an English II or Technical Business and Writing class, so I have it registered for the shortest upcoming term I could find it in since I already have 4 summer classes rn. I have the rest of my classes completed degree wise, but that last I'm mentioning.
I dont know what my options are because I really NEED to be able to start this upcoming fall. My parent doesn't want to me defer (she had kids super young as a single mom so she never got to go to college like she wanted), neither do I because I had high hopes to leave for university because I'm sick of the town I grew up in.

Hello, I finally plan to go back to college, I already have an associates from Panola college in elementary education. (2021) I would like to major in their listed major science education (4-8).
I was wondering from those who are in the education majors at SFA, has SFA helped you get a teaching job? How much do they help you get into a teaching job?
(also spent full year as a full time paraprofessional in 2021 if that helps)

Hello, I have a question. My dream job is teaching so that is 100% what im going for. I have 58/60 credits in elementary education, from my CC. and done a year of FT paraprofessional at a 5th grade level. Elementary education is the degree i originally have been planning for, and is my first choice.
I firstly want to be a teacher in elementary education preferably 5th- 6th grade. However, I also consider high school teaching to and was wondering if it would be possible to double major in both chemistry & elementary education?
thanks!

Hey guys, I'll be coming to SFA this fall, and I was wondering if people play beach or indoor volleyball casually. Is there a pickup volleyball scene where people just show up and play for fun, or is it mostly organized teams and leagues

Earlier last year I applied to multiple schools for interior design. My top two schools being (Cornell and TCU). After applying early action to TCU and getting deferred to regular decision I was offered their first semester abroad program where I was able to do my first semester in another country with a guaranteed transfer to TCU in the spring because of limited space. However, the abroad schools didn’t offer aid and were expecting you to pay in the span of three months time for a heavy tuition fee. That lead me to end up choosing SFA after being rejected from Cornell.( no hard feelings lol my stats weren’t exactly Ivy League level). After I paid all my fees, signed up for orientation, deposited for housing I got an email from TCU yesterday telling me that they have space available in the fall semester and I can express my interest for them to continue the process.
Unfortunately now I’m in a bind I’ve already mourned TCU and have even come to love SFA but with this recent turn of events I’m not exactly sure of where I stand or what I really should do especially with my orientation for SFA being next week.
Note: I did express my interest just to see how much financial aid I’d receive but I’m still not exactly sure if I should go even if it’s a good amount.
