Heard so many opinions and complaints about this year but honestly, I think it’s improving.

I mean come on, I know we all know what happened sa time last year sa Sillimusika. Although security now kay taas jud ug line pero ug where ta ga line right now is def better!! Where the stage is sd. And ang management sa time?? Hello?? Better jud baya.

Hibalag sd this year. From more options sa food pa lang.

I know there’s always something better but I’d like to say ra jd nga thank you to our student leaders who put their blood, sweat, and tears into these events. Thank you ates and kuyas! This wouldn’t have been possible without you guys ❤️

August is now over, and Founders Week is officially done. Personally, I feel like the spark of Hibalag is finally back. This year, it was all about community. Almost everyone seemed to be in Hibalag, and it was honestly a complete shock to see the Hibalag grounds full almost every day. There was always something happening, and the energy around the campus felt different. It may have been a different Hibalag compared to previous years, but this time, it definitely felt like it had improved.

Miss Silliman and Sillimusika were also complete successes.

In all honesty, I believe Miss Silliman should be labeled not just as a university-run pageant, but as a student-led event as well. The organizers, who were all passionate about serving the University, were a huge part of what made the event happen. The program was smooth, and despite the challenges that came along the way, there were no major complaints regarding the committee that became public. More importantly, whenever there were issues, they knew how to address them. They fixed problems, adapted, and knew what needed to be done. Seeing students take on that level of responsibility and execute the event successfully was something worth appreciating.

Sillimusika, compared to previous years, was on a completely different level and on a much bigger scale. I honestly never expected to see December Avenue perform! The concessionaires were also a great fit for the event, and the little gimmicks they prepared were really cute and added to the overall atmosphere. Of course, there were challenges. The line was extremely long, and the cut-off caused some complaints from attendees. But despite those issues, the event itself was still a huge success. There were so many people, and daghan kaayo'g ga-maoy!

Looking back at everything that happened this August, I think what stood out to me the most was the sense of community. Hibalag wasn't just about the activities, the concerts, the pageants, or the competitions. It was about people showing up, participating, supporting one another, and simply being part of something bigger than themselves.

Silliman is, at its core, a community-run university. And this year's Founders Week reminded me why that community is what makes Silliman special.

Any updates on what the possible outcome of the incident is? Did the victim’s family just accept the offer? Did A.H.’s family basically pay their way out of the situation? And did the teens just go back to school like nothing happened?
