Hey yall! My family and I are heading up to Norman for the OU/A&M game in November. My wife's side of the family are all Aggies, and have never gone up to Norman so I wanted to show them around. Do yall know of any good tailgates we could hang out at before the game?

For OU fans who follow the Dallas Stars: The Stars just released their promotional schedule and while they are hosting college nights again, they have skipped over OU this year for some reason.
The teams included are Texas, Tech, ATM, SMU, Baylor, UTD, UTA, UNT, SFA, TSU, and Oklahoma State. No TCU either. They have some neat hats this year and I'm bummed that OU doesn't get one. See the post HERE.
I found this to be somewhat ridiculous/head-scratching and I encourage all Sooner/Stars fans to let them know your thoughts. The feedback form is HERE

'Twas the night before Aer Lingus, when all through the dorms
Not a mascot was stirring, not even Niner Norm;
The jerseys were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that fireworks soon would be in air;
The freshmen were nestled all tired from class;
While visions of sooner dubs danced in their heads;
And sickos in their mania, and I in my cap,
Had just settled our brains for a long August nap,
When out on the quad there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the lawn I flew like a golden flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.
The moon on the crest of the jumbotron board,
Gave a lustre of midday to where students would roar,
When what to my wondering eyes did appear,
But the greatest football team the SEC would fear,
With a angry old driver, so loud did he vent,
I knew in a moment he must be Coach Brent.
More rapid than Swoop the Eagle his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name:
"Now, Jackson! now, Stone! now Heinecke and Livingston!
On, Mateer! on, Blaylock! on, Bowens and Robinson!
To the top of the palace! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!"
As leaves that before the mid hurricanes fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky;
So up to the palace walls the Sooners they flew
With a band full of boys, and Coach Venables too—
And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the prairie
The crying and wailing of those Texas fairies.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the tunnel Coach Venables came with a sound.
He was dressed all in black, from his head to his foot,
Along with his players, dressed up in their suits;
A bundle of plays he had strapped to his arm,
And he looked like a maniac about to cause harm.
His eyes—how they shone! his dimples, how scary!
He'd drop his DBs, eat their line like a cherry!
His linebackers stood with contempt in their hearts,
And the opposing QBs would all be torn apart;
The golden hat he'd wear soon on his head,
As Sark's pitiful offense in October would be dead;
The Bulldogs we'd thrash like a bad little dog
Wolverines whacked, the Gators we'd flog.
Aggies send packing, the Rebels we'd rout,
And trust me - those Missouri Tiger's, we're gonna shut out;
The Lobos, the Miners, the Wildcats rebuilt,
Jeff Lebby we'll thrash without any guilt;
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And ran Oklahoma Drills; then turned with a jerk,
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the palace he rose;
He sprang to the schooner, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like John Mateer 40-yard piss missle.
But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight—
“Happy football season to all, and to all a good night!”
Any Sooners out here in the Wild West of Oregon? Portland is an awesome city but it needs a little crimson and cream to offset the hideous yellow and green. Where y’all at? Boomer!

Hi,
Just started graduate school and am feeling overwhelmed with the type and amount of writing (ie. synthesizing). I have not completed academic writing in many years. Any tips would be appreciated.

I am looking for a formal sooner vest for my soon to be hubby to wear at our wedding. He is from Oklahoma and is a die hard Sooner. We are older and live in Wisconsin. It will be just family but would love to surprise him. I’ve looked a little online. Are there stores in OKC or surrounding area that would have these? Thanks!!

Just went to a pike party with my autistic brother where they came up to him, asked him if he was a freshman, when he said no they told him to leave and as he STARTED TO LEAVE he asked why and was PUSHED by a brother. As he walked out of the door one of the other brothers pretended to try and shake his hand then pulled it away and laughed at him. Genuinely what happened to frats being respectful people? Actually pathetic and they should be ashamed of themselves.
Edit: This was not today but some other time this week.

I didn’t know my roommate until move-in so I never had a chance to inform him/ ask him if he was okay with me being bi
over the past week or two since we’ve moved in he keeps talking about girls and saying “that’s all you man” and shit.
I don’t know what to do tbh and I’m nervous/scared that if I do tell him that he would have a bad reaction because he played football at a big high school
Edit: Thank y’all for all the replies, advice and support

If you aren’t Greek, do you feel alienated from hanging out with guys that are in a house? Like if a guy has friends in a particular fraternity would they be welcome to come to a party there or is that a big no no? Do people tend to drop their non Greek friends once they pledge?

Hi! So I am transgender and attending OU (commuter). It is becoming increasingly uncomfortable to use (what I consider to be) the wrong restroom. Are there many all-gender/ family / single person / etc. restrooms on campus?
I know of 1 in Dale but that's it and all of my classes are on the north side of campus this semester so its more than a bit impractical to run back and forth all day.
Thank you all!
Edit: I didn't realize there are that many! Thanks everyone ☺️

I’m 19 M and a sophomore at OU. I really love OU, but I genuinely feel like I can’t get involved and I can’t make friends. I really wanna be a part of the OU Daily and I applied for it but I don’t if I’m gonna get a job there and that makes me so sad tbh. I feel really discouraged as everything’s about application. People say that school is a brand new start but I just kind of disagree. I didn’t do as much in high school and I was hoping to get involved a lot in college: be a part of student organizations, make a difference, make friends. But it feels like I can’t. It’s just been so depressing lately and idrk what to do. Can anybody help me? Or give me some advice on getting involved/getting positions with clubs and student organizations with applications??
