I think ADA Carisi is Meh.

And Rollins coming back just hasn't worked, IMO.

And this might be an unpopular opinion but I think Rollins is the one that Lewis should of gone after. She’s the one that caught him initially, discovered his past life and basically unravelled everything for him.

Just realised while I was watching s16 E22 that in England Netflix only offers season 12-16 and there is not a single streaming service that offers all the seasons not even the newer ones. Does anyone know why this is ? I just find it strange that they can’t even show the newer ones and they’ve just randomly chose season 12,13,14,15 and 16 to provide , I wondered if it was anything to do with copyright .I’m very disappointed as this has been my favourite binge watch ever 😭

S27 E14. Griffin gets a bit testy when things are getting tense and Amanda exclaims "yo" in response. I don't know why this little things seems so odd to me, but it does 😂

I see both sides with "Limitations," and I don't really like how the episode makes most of the cops who originally handled Lois and Victoria's cases look like assholes or incompetent so Benson and Stabler can come in five years later and be the heroes who finally put everything together.

Obviously Latimer was awful for basically writing Lois's rape off as regret. I'm not defending him at all. I'm more talking about the cops who believed the assaults happened but didn't know what to make of some of the details.

Lois said the rapist knew "Loli," a nickname only her grandmother called her, despite her not knowing this man at all. The episode takes place in 2000, so the original investigation happened in 1995. If this happened in 2026, I'd immediately think stalker, but I can see how in 1995 that could've sounded like delusional paranoia to an investigator. That doesn't mean Lois was lying or that they should've dismissed her. They just didn't have an explanation for how a complete stranger could know something that personal.

Benson and Stabler also had the benefit of DNA telling them the same guy raped three women. They were reopening the cases already knowing there was a connection, while the original cops had investigated them separately.

And one of the original detectives actually did believe Jennifer when she said the guy knew personal things about her. He considered that the rapist could've tapped her phone or read her mail, he just couldn't figure it out at the time.

So I see both sides. The women deserved to be taken seriously, but Benson and Stabler also had five years of hindsight and new evidence on their side. I just think the episode leaned a little too hard into making the old cops look bad to make Benson and Stabler look like the heroes.

Some weird part of me loves them together. BUT I HATE ROLLINS CHARACTER. i was wondering what are some other opinions on this…

When I first started watching svu years ago one of the first things that stood out to me was how every single female victim of SA was fine w talking to the male detectives about their assault. I mean maybe they were uncomfortable but they were usually uncomfortable speaking to anyone, male or woman. I know for me personally it would be very hard to discuss the specifics to a man after experiencing something as traumatic and personal as that. I mean I would think soooo many women would have a hard time trusting a man again esp right after assault. And you have no idea if they will believe you too! I would feel so much safer w a woman detective. I would have more hope that they would believe me. I can't imagine being taken advantage of so horribly by a man then discussing the most horrific details with one. Yk?? Maybe it's just me but I've always wondered this and never seen a single episode where a survivor refuses to go speak with a male detective.

Some of you are going to hate me for this unpopular take.

This one INFURIATES me. NGL, I felt so sorry for their daughter and for the dad. He wanted to spend time with his daughter and his ex just lied and obstructed each chance she got. Obviously things escalated. He was wrong for what he did. Burning her was absolutely inexcusable However, if she had an ounce of humanity and empathy for him, it would have been a very different outcome. She possibly falsely accused him of rape with her apparently dying breaths I freely acknowledge that she could have been telling the truth, BUT even OLIVIA FREAKING I ALWAYS BELIEVE THE VICTIM BENSON believed him and called her a liar. The hate that they felt for each other was next level war of the roses!

Before anyone says it, IDGAF about that "blaming the victim" ISH in this situation. He was selfish, immature, and prone to violence; he was also a work in progress. Most importantly, he was a victim too of her lies, callousness, parental alienation, and vindictiveness. Their daughter was the biggest victim, was blameless, had the most maturity, and was left to pick of the pieces without her parents to help her navigate life.

This case just sucks so much!!!!

On another, unrelated note, it's hard to find two hotter parents than Micheal Michel (who just celebrated her 60th birthday) and ​Blair Underwood.

Season 8 Episode 11 Burned

I’m doing a binge watch of SVU to get up to date on the series and I just watched the episode where Simon is brought back then promptly killed off. I’m just curious that if there was any real reason to do that considering he wasn’t even back for a full episode. I would understand if it was for a few episodes and a story arc but I just feel like him being brought back then killed off was pointless, especially since there really wasn’t much interaction with him and Noah.

I'm not trying to be mean or anything. Stabler is a good cop but his behaviour stinks alot of the time. I don't know if it's because everyone loves shipping him with Olivia but I feel like if he was not her partner and they didn't have a connection, alot of people would not have liked him.

As someone coming in from Narcotics, he was extremely based with a strong moral compass. You'd think someone fresh in Sex Crimes wouldn't know what to make of it and maybe hold some stupid opinions, but no, my boy came in based AF.

He doesn't think being a cop should shield anyone from consequences (based), respects everyone's right to identify anyway they wish, (based), doesn't believe that being married entitles anyone to sex and no one should be coerced into having unwanted sex (based). He instantly works cohesively with his new squad and doesn't cause any friction. Flawless detective work.

He's my absolute favorite with Munch and Barba tying for my second favorite lol

I just finished watching episode 16 in season 16 and I couldn't help feeling so terribly sad when Raphael's grandmother died. He truly is such an amazing grandson always taking care of his family and doing what he think best for them. It was one of the first time that I saw him emotional since I started watching SUV and it felt like learning a new part of him that we didn't have access to before. The only thing I felt said about is the fact that the episode finished so abruptly and that we didn't see Olivia there for him as a friend.
