Meme 🤡 Last night, I dreamt there was an episode 10

And it was in theaters. I had to navigate having to pee without missing anything (there was an intermission) and find a toilet that wasn't nasty or broken which is a common trope in my dreams.

Welp, in the movie, the characters turned into fireflies, and they were actually cute like that but the movie stopped abruptly with no conclusion and that was the end. Everyone got pissed including me, standing up and yelling at the screen "THAT'S IT?!"

For extra context, I liked the Last Act and didn't feel that way in theaters at all nor did anyone else in my theater

I figured he'd come for us eventually. He doesn't really go into specifics with TADC, but I agree with most of his takes on the medium.

Discussion 💬 is anyone else getting jax fatigue?

over the past 3 years, my relationship with jax has soured greatly, i used to be able to tolerate him but not i can’t stand him or anything surrounding him. i have some pretty hot takes about how negatively i view his writing, and other aspects. i still enjoy the show but having him be a main focus (which felt like it was quickly established half-way through the series) leaves me desiring more. the show would have benifitted greatly if most of the merch wasn’t about him, the focus should have been shifted towards other characters, not entirely because i understand that he’s the “main character” now, but enough to fill the zooble and ragatha shaped hole in my heart. whenever i see something about jax now, whether it be from a fan, or from official sources, i just roll my eyes and let out an audible sigh. i dont think jax is as complex as people make him out to be, i believe that idea was formed due to the fact that goose decided to hamfist a bunch of random shit onto his character halfway through the series, making him harder to understand, therefore he appears “deeper”

dont get me wrong, he’s a fun character to watch in SOME scenes but i find myself gravitating and sympathising with the other characters far easier. the show itself had already ruined jax for me, nothing is able to redeem my interest for him. but what continues to make it worse is the fans. now to be clear, i dont mean ALL fans, but the ones im talking about are a LOUD majority atleast from my experience. i dont usually rant or whine about other people unless they’ve actively harmed my mental health, sanity or other parts of my psyche.

every moment i spend around one of these fans is insufferable. they act as if finding the manipulative abuser who basically assisted suicide for both of his friends to be a bad character is a crime. you cant slander jax, you cant make fun of him. you can’t threaten him in any comedic way, they treat him like a real person that needs protecting. their only defence for jax whenever they’re confronted with the truth that he’s an abusive jerk is that “he’s well written” but i just cannot see it. where’s the good writing? what part of jax is so deep and profound that you feel the need to bring it up whenever im ranting about him? i dont enjoy being the type to judge people for liking a character purely for writing but i need to ask, why? even if he was well written, why would you LOVE him for that? its all very confusing.

Discussion 💬 Tbh, the environment surrounding TADC is painful for me. But I can’t bring myself to hate the show (I’m Japanese)

Tbh, the environment surrounding TADC is painful for me. But I can't bring myself to hate the show (I'm Japanese)

First, I'm certainly not representing Japanese fans. but I would also like to apologize in advance for my poor English.

I first encountered this show shortly after the pilot was released. Pomni’s cute design was generating a rare buzz in Japan—a country where Western cartoons don't typically become major hits—and as someone who already loved cartoons, I remember watching it and thinking, "Wow... I wonder what's going to happen next"
(Pomni was highly popular among men, while Jax was highly popular among women)

After the pilot, I stopped watching because I was a bit put off by how popular Pomni had become (I tend to be a contrarian, after all)
however, upon hearing the buzz about the finale getting a theatrical release, I binged all the episodes released so far—and ended up falling in love with a particular ship(Jax is one half of that ship)
I also enjoyed the show itself.

Although published online, a manga adaptation of the main story was serialized in "CoroCoro Comic"—a highly renowned Japanese magazine for children (famous for having serialized Doraemon and for popularizing the names of Pokémon)

Although there was some online controversy—including issues with leaks—the final episode has finally begun its worldwide release. It was released in Japan as well, but since it wasn't screened in my area, I had no choice but to wait for the streaming release.

In the time leading up to the release, I spent my days drawing fan art. Perhaps because TADC is so famous, I was happy that so many people saw my art, despite my limited skills.
Then, Episode 9 was released. I found myself in tears—moved by the story, yet overcome with sadness.
For a while after watching it, the sadness weighed heavily on me; I couldn't eat properly, and as soon as I got home from work, I would just lie down. I might have been in a state of mild depression.

As time passed, I gradually calmed down and began to notice a few points I wasn't entirely convinced by. nevertheless, I can say that I enjoyed the show to the very end, ship too.

However, the content of the finale sparked something of a backlash online...
What was hardest of all, though, was the fact that the pairing I loved was intensely disliked within the fandom (though, of course, there were fellow fans and people who appreciated the fan art)

It was a phenomenon often seen in fandom activities—the experience of discovering various previously unknown facets of a work as one becomes deeply immersed in it.
And since TADC was reaching the milestone of its final episode, I feel that these sense of significant movement was even more pronounced.

At one point, I felt that engaging in fan activities might actually be hurting Gooseworx, and I even considered leaving the fandom altogether. I still harbor those feelings today.

What hurts the most is the hate directed at the ship... I try my best to make full use of platform features like muting, but it’s still painful when I happen to come across those kinds of opinions (though of course, everyone is free to have their own preferences regarding the ship)

My heart also ached at the news of how things have been going for Goose over the past few days.

There are still plenty of fan art pieces I want to draw or have in progress. Sometimes I think it might be easier to just stop being a TADC fan altogether, but in the end, I simply can't bring myself to hate the show or the ships.
Lately, there’s been a growing amount of hate directed at Jax, which makes things even tougher.

Is there anyone else in the same situation or feeling the same way? And if that is same of you, how do you come to terms with those feelings?
You could dismiss it as "just fandom activity," but it is actually quite difficult to come to terms with it emotionally.

Edit:
I apologize; I intended to repost what I had shared on another TADC subreddit, but it seems the content was lost because I entered new text. I have rewritten what I originally posted.
Also, I used the strong word "hate" in the title, but I didn't mean it literally; the nuance is more like, "It's painful, but I still like it, so I can't bring myself to walk away."

Also, apparently, they share a voice actor in Fazbear and Friends. I hope this is allowed cuz it is technically still TADC related
