Gap year

I’m planning to apply for masters degree, but afraid that I won’t receive a scholarship and I’ll have to take a gap year.

I’d like to explore all my options in advance, so I’m curious to hear how others have found their gap year – is it worth it, or would it be better to apply to universities I’m less keen on, just to avoid taking a gap year?
