I recently started listening to Vaporwave after years away, how has the scene changed? what new subgenres are prominent? I’m not necessarily looking for recommendations, as I know there are yearly ‘best of’ posts, but it would be interesting to know where the genre is at and how it’s evolved sonically.

EDIT: I know I said I’m not necessarily looking for recommendations, BUT if there is anything that embodies new changes and trends, I’d love to hear it :)

i’m trying to learn how to produce cool vfx but i’m a bit limited right now tech wise i only have my phone as of right now any cool programs i could try out? trying to make visuals for a vaporwave type project

I recently listened to all their albums again, and it's impressive how their sound has evolved. The early albums are simpler compared to the more recent ones, and with that in mind, I wanted to know which you prefer, the older ones or the more recent ones. It was after ITLLT, I think that's the starting point where they decided to change their sound. And honestly, I think I'll stick with the old ones, I didn't remember that 世界大戦OLYMPICS and 失われた時REGRET, It was so good, but because I was more used to the sounds they make nowadays, I never paid much attention to them and didn't pay much attention to their music, but now that I've listened to them again, I realize they're really good

As the "arty underdog" Apple's computers were becoming more mainstream and all-purpose, Microsoft saw a chance to undermine their clean, minimalist branding in an attempt to poach the underground creatives that made up the Mac's original userbase, with Windows 2001. Coming with a suite of creative software and a distinct aesthetic inspired by then-current electronic music, Windows 2001 was unpopular with mainstream consumers, who found its theme uninviting and contrary to how computers had been presented up to that point, and was succeeded shortly by Windows XP.
