folks who 'parse' feel the need to judge their self worth by posting records of highest dps or their personal highest dps per each individual fight so they might land on some ranking system that exists online. it turns the communities toxic where even if you have things on farm status and are letting up on your raid buffs and consumables brought, others will let you know that your tiny loss of .025% raid dps by not using one perfect elixir now extends the fight .75 seconds and thus their 'burst window' is now a shorter portion of the fight degrading their overall performance.

i paraphrased the above... but it's functionally what happens when you have folks on your team with an obsessive level of 'how to play the fun game'

Yes. “Parse culture” in WoW is frequently toxic as fuck and sucks the fun out of the end game, especially in classic. Getting the highest parse possible is THE most important thing to an irritatingly large portion of the classic player base
