That game still holds up pretty well these days.

Strangely the first one yes, the second age poorly. Some details got lost or Heller is just more polite that Mercer...

Yeah, I really liked the idea of the villain being the guy you've built up into a demigod from the first game, but it just didn't hit the mark.

In my opinion it missed the mark mainly cause the good ending was canon but then Mercer becomes evil offscreen for like no reason.

Power corrupts.

They had a great premise, just not the best execution.

Half the problem was that evil turn happens off screen.

The other half of the problem is he doesn't have any depth to him beyond "evil" in the game. He's just a mustache twirling bad guy going muhuhhahahahaha every time he appears.

Made worse by Heller also not having any mystery properly tied to him.

so you can play it on the PS3 or a computer running windows 7, otherwise the game is not playable. I build a Windows 7 machine just to play prototype and it needs a ton of mods to be playable by modern standards.

It's also very much playable on Xbox Series X, as well as I'd assume the older generations starting with its release console.

I got 1 and 2 for the ps4 and they were great. The first one is still heaps better. But both good games and very playable.

Prototype was one of the best sandboxes
