Honestly you can’t even be upset or doom at this game , it was upper management that put Páez in the game sent from AA. Theres no way we didn’t have anyone else in AAA that could’ve done better. Durbin/ wong are the two that are really holding us back at the plate right now, but if we can chip away in the next few innings get a run or two each one give ourselves a chance . Not out of the realm of possibilities

To be fair to Breslow we don't have a ton of options in AAA right now, it's basically just Holobetz, Wehunt, and Ziehl and Wehunt is the only one with good numbers in AAA (and he's not on the 40 man). Wehunt is interesting though, 6-7 240 3.34 era in AAA.

Between AA and AAA this year, Paez has a 0.962 WHIP and 10.9 K/9. He had a 4.41 ERA in Portland, but has had three good outings in Worchester.

Of note, he has a relatively low walk-rate for his minor league career, and high K/BB as a result.

So seems to me like someone they had to work with to get right again, and hopefully it works out tonight.
