REMINDER: Bigotry Showcase posts are banned.

Due to an uptick in posts that invariably revolve around "look what this transphobic or racist asshole said on twitter/in reddit comments" we have enabled this reminder on every post for the time being.

Most will be removed, violators will be shot temporarily banned and called a nerd. Please report offending posts. As always, moderator discretion applies since not everything reported actually falls within that circle of awful behavior.

I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

Its also said by people who are looking for reasons to pin you for something. They don't want you to measure what you say so that you will say something they can catch you in without thinking even if you genuinely didn't do anything wrong. It's literally the reason you never talk to the cops lmao.

it's because they think you're trying to come up with a convincing lie

Waiting to answer shows confidence in oneself, anyone trying to bully or shame you for thinking isnt to be trusted

Who needs actual evidence when you can use wild guesses based on a person's body language?

I’m pretty sure there’s a whole bunch of “only people who lie do X” where X is just something people do when they’re nervous or something. Does this person look worried because they’re lying or because they assume you won’t trust them regardless of whether you’re telling the truth?

Most people are less sentient than cattle IMO.  Moving from stimulus to stimulus without a careful considered thought between their ears.
