I might be reaching, but he might be saying there are too many very strong afk methods nowadays. Back in the day, woodcutting yews was afk and the trees would randomly fall. Regular fishing was afk and it wasn't that long that you could actually afk. There was no afk mining or runecraft. Etc. etc.
Nowadays we have 30 minute afk (for really bad xp I know) salvaging, 7 minutes redwood 7 to like 3 minute afk bwans, afk mining methods, zeah rc... stuff like that.
I personally love afk skilling, but I can understand where he's coming from and he might be saying that skilling is becoming very afk
Right, but when methods are as afk as they are, people don't talk nearly as much. Makes the game a little less social which is sad. That's the only bit I don't like.
I will say however, that the conversations in modern day rs are weird as hell most of the time.
skilling sure. Combat on the other hand, was ruined by being able to go to sleep and train for 6 hours in NMZ, as well as things like splashing on a rat for 6 hours. People got 99 all combat stats effortlessly.
He said skilling is oversaturated. Im not talking about skilling. And bossing is a stupid comparison. There are very few bosses that feel anything alike, where every single afk method feels the exact same because it is by definition click and walk away.
The analogy is to something else oversaturated, not to something else afk. Jesus, im sorry your reading comprehension is lackluster but I was able to understand his analogy perfectly fine
So you failed to understand the analogy, then replied to me, not OP, to their analogy, by missing the point of the analogy. Cool. Bossing can be oversaturated without feeling like afk, so your comment misses the point by pretending that it isnt oversaturated BECAUSE its not like afk activities
I deadass dont know if you understand English. Read my reply. My point is bossing does not in any way feel oversaturated. Afk skilling, to me, feels like there is an option for every skill, which is too much.
hahaha smhmh if you talk about afk being "oversaturated" (literally impossible btw) then ofc the actual oversaturated content deserves being bought up.
Okay so in the same breath you say CONTENT A (skilling) cannot be oversaturated but LOOK, CONTENT B (bossing) is!!!!!!111!!!
So which one dawg? You can see content CAN be oversaturated, but your preference is the one that is while the content others say is oevrsaturated simply can't be?
afking cannot be oversaturated because it is completely optional, it is objectively and fully disadvantageous to progression to spend any time on it compared to active alternatives (which there ALWAYS are).
There are no real alternatives to bossing in the endgame, just vast ever-ballooning grind. Hence: oversaturated.
Are you genuinely saying remote desktopping stars for 7 mins at a time is fully disadvantageous to the alternative of powermining when you get at home? If every skills has one or more new afk methods that havent existed in the prior decade ofcourse the game will become bloated with these giga low effort, medium yield activities....
Choosing to afk is ofcourse optional but levelling isn't... it's definitely something you MUST engage with if you want to do higher end quests, diaries, etc, whereas there's absolutely zero obligation to do any bosses at any particular time, especially if you're a main. There's people who don't even boss or raid or even do combat, how are you saying it's mandatory?
Explain to me how the game could have 30 different bosses and be oversaturated, but having 30 afkable skills isn't? You don't get to arbitrarily determine what is what HAAHAAH

Skilling is oversaturated? Consider counting how many bosses there are
