Yeah you're right, in all these pk vids/livestreams they dont actually fight pkers when they see them, they always run away. Theyre gonna fight who they see, pker or pvmer, when they actually see someone. You cross the ditch and you accept that risk, you bring what you are willing to risk when you do so it's your fault if you die for a lot
This subreddit is actually so lost. Wildy is surrounded by people who have never in their life been there.
First of all - go ahead - be the PvPer. Kill the pkers then. Easy.
second of all- Yes - the comment is tongue and cheek. PK teams most of the time and most of the loot is from fighting other PK teams. Only exceptions are singles - such as around Chaos fanatic which are usually where I see pkers fight each other.
No one cares about your shitty 100k loot. We do kill you running through but that's only because we are scouting active locations and usually fight other PK teams where most of the profit is made.
Escaping is also super easy if you are paying attention.
But your tiktok brains can't handle actively playing the game so you cry - how people don't fight each other when that's the objective and msot fun in the game. And actually - we do. Most of the time spent is fighting other teams or scouting for them.
It's pathetic how unaccepting players have become of wilderness content. If you're too scared of losing pixels to step into wildy - don't go. Why ruin community which isn't?
Not to mention there is so much content creators who go to wilderness and train/farm gold and somehow don't bitch about dieing a few times. But somehow, most of them - make it out ok.
I think MrMammal has series where he trains/farms for ages and is fine.
A friend made lots of content of farming wildy bosses where he dies but somehow is able to complete his runs.
it's just an example of how wilderness is not even that dangerous and you're just too much a lil cry baby to accept it.
I trained in wildy altar which was the most painful. Other content is practically dead except maybe revs. Yuo'll die there maybe once or twice an hour but if you bank every 15mins it's not even an issue.
What a bunch of losers in these comments, I can't.
Crazy how you crybullies justify this bs to yourself. "why ruin a community" lol why are you ruining other people's playtime? Go to bounty hunter where there are people that like PvP.
>oh but thats what the wilderness is for
Then stop whining when people complain about it. It's an unpopular design and it should change.
I agree that a lot of PKers are dickheads, but heavily disagree the wilderness should change. This area being the murder death zone is an amazing part of Runescape's history, and if they just turned off PVP in the wild I would lose it. And I'm an ironman who can't PVP.
A wimp? Lol I play video games to enjoy myself. I don't have to put up with bad content to pretend to be tough online. I simply push changes to make the game better.

No one cares about your shitty 100k loot.
If that's the case make the Wilderness opt-in. Pkers won't care apparently.
Yeah but I do have a problem with that because I sit on 4-7M/hr doing 40-100k xp/hr slayer while "risking" the 100k that you people seem to think is quite literally the end of the world. Don't ruin it for those of us who enjoy the risk/reward aspect of the wilderness just because you're heart rate goes to 120 the second you cross the ditch with nothing but a spade.
Nerf rewards/xp by 75% (or more) if you opt out of PVP, that way the anti-pvp/clue/quest folks have full access as well as an incentive to opt into PVP if they actually want decent xp/gp for their time spent.
Or we do it the Jagex way, pay an additional 14,99 to opt out of PVP :D
Ending the wilderness was one of the steps that led to rs3 playerbase dying.
Next people will say osrs need to limit trades to only allow even amounts to be traded so scammers can't scam, gold sellers can't sell, and prices can't be manipulated
Then people will say combat is boring and we need a new system for combat. An evolution to the system.
Lol the RS3 playerbase didn't die due to ending the wilderness. It died due to completely overhauling the combat system, removing free trade and aggressive MTX.
Next people will say osrs need to limit trades to only allow even amounts to be traded so scammers can't scam, gold sellers can't sell, and prices can't be manipulated

If you'd join a team and try to PK you'd see how much fun it is. Just because you're too scared to step into wildy shouldn't be an issue for people who don't care if they lose 500k in gear.
u cant make people pvp though, thats not the solution. Is there any other mmo where pvm and pvp are intertwined? just seperate them i dont get the big deal
The best part of wow had both intertwined across the majority of the world. They are already separate, if you don’t like pvp you don’t go into the wilderness and you don’t have to engage in pvp.
There’s items offered as rewards which are useful outside of pvp and aren’t obtainable elsewhere.
Why do Ironmen keep doing CG to the point of burnout? They’re not forced to, but some combination of gameplay incentives and the sunk cost fallacy can do a lot.
Nobody is forced to do anything, playing the game itself is optional, but if you make a powerful piece of equipment then people will want to get it. The outcomes then are either do the content which they don’t enjoy, or don’t get the item, which feels bad when the reason you’re avoiding it is because it’s not fun.
That both of the outcomes aren’t fun is why it keeps being brought up.
I think you're missing the point here: I shouldn't be forced to interact with wilderness content solely because of PKers crying to Jmods nonstop. "Oh boohoo we are sick of fighting people who know PvP. Please send noobs, preferably with loot". You don't just bandaid an infection and call it good
Are you dense? How about clues? Clogs, perhaps? Wilderness diary? You have to make these choices for progression. No one is forcing me to breathe air either btw
Skip the Clog (like who care about those, you're not gonna fill them ever).
Don't do the diary, it's reward is TP to wildy. Why would you need the reward?
If i'm being serious. I can't believe this is a legit criticism. I don't even remember last time i've been attacked doing a clue. They are not in dangerous spaces except maybe the one next to altar.
Wilderness diary is also off the beaten path - and is once and done thing.
Clogs. Like yeah you'll get pked there but 3 iteming is fine for almost all wildy bosses and they drop good loot.
But then again if you're so scared - just don't go.
And here we are back to square one, see the problem yet? You are saying I have to miss out on content that has NOTHING TO DO WITH PVP, just because I dont want to pvp. I think thats a ridiculous take and wrong. We got nowhere fast
Jmods on record said they wanted to add bosses to wildy to boost engagement with wildy. Cannot make this up. Is there a PKer behind them with a gun telling them to put content in wildy against player choice? Thank goodness polls keep failing and common sense keeps winning.
The wilderness should have updates to its region that are proportionate with updates for other established landmasses in the game. Simple as. It does not deserve more or less.
Yes, I agree. No one here is hating on rev caves. But if to complete the game's objectives I had to pk 100 people without consent or similar, then its a problem. Personally, I think there needs to be dedicated pvp events and rewards, that way everyone doing them consents to dying and killing. But im no jmod and dont know balance so take it with salt
Why is this a problem? If I want access to pvp related items I have to quest/boss etc, which is something that many PvPers aren't interested in yet is still a component of the game we have to interact with if we want to efficiently pvp. It's very much the inverse of "we shouldn't have to engage in pvp for pvm items".
Can you see how your two stances here make no sense? On the one hand, you're telling everyone who has issues with the wilderness to just not go there and not engage with any of the content. You ignore all critique or suggestions that people make, and just call people crybabies when they don't agree with you. You clearly don't want any changes made to the place.
This would be fine, but you turn right back around and say you want Jagex to add more content to this place you're encouraging everyone to avoid. You have to address the very common mindset of wildy haters not wanting to engage before you can actually add anything else, or at the very least not just crash out when people have different opinions. You are not improving anyone's perception of people who like the wildy lol
All this to say that you're so sheltered you can't handle losing 100k in pixels and somehow this pathetic of a mindset is now majority of the community.
And even then - I know most of you cry babies haven't even tried to step into wildy because it's empty and cotent easy to farm.
Bested is hardly the word I'd use for a one sided encounter where I'm geared to fight calvarion and just want to leave and the other guy is geared to fight me.
You're still just doing PVM though, not having to worry about someone popping in interrupting you, not wasting time trying to escape, etc.
Edit: Also while doing PVM and dying, you're still learning it and getting experience, having some random person chase or kill you doesn't do anything but waste time for the PVMer.
I couldn't care less about ego, I'm not even trying to fight back.
The PVMer isn't geared for PVP, most likely doesn't want to PVP nor has any practise or knowledge with PVP, so what is there to have ego about?
You played an Iron yet? Escaping ez, lvl 30 tele ez, losing 100k gp not an issue. But some loser making me waste time because they wanna ruin someone’s play time is gross. Sure wildy content isn’t as alive as it was in the 2000’s but people also had shame in 2000’s. No overheads and eating. Pkers are so annoying nowadays that other pkers don’t like them. That speaks volumes. Inb4 Pvp exclusive worlds are all that remains of pking in 2030.
If you are chopping logs do you bank with half an inventory? When you have tele away you waste time like a person banking with 14 logs would.
Fighting back on an Iron is also wasteful, for what? A key you can drop to a main? Sure lots of Irons have mains but I sure af don’t defeats the purpose of an Iron IMO.
I definitely see your points but the benefits for irons are moot. While even the worst rewards for a pker are still infinitely more rewarding than what an iron gets out of the interactions.
Not your point but just a common one: “Wilderness is high risk vs high reward” also a moot point for people who don’t drop trade to their mains. People who don’t risk items only have their time wasted in wilderness nothing more, nothing less.
Wilderness needs a rework both for the pvm community and the pvp community. Pkers are spread thin with pvp content looking grim and pvmers/irons just don’t care. Like someone said, most players nowadays just don’t interact with the content. It also doesn’t help that the PvP Arena murdered something that used to get people into pvp content by becoming an imbuing simulator.
Idk I do hope we have a surge in pvp content that actually rewards the few who enjoy it and teaches new people to enjoy it. Bonus points if Jagex can make pvp worth it to irons somehow.
If you are chopping logs do you bank with half an inventory? When you have tele away you waste time like a person banking with 14 logs would.
I don't chop logs in wildy. There are better spots.
Then don't go to wildy?
Nothing is BIS or needed there for irons. You can get everything elsewhere.
IF you choose to do something there - you take the risk of being attacked.
Your choice.
With great rewards comes great responsibility or whatever aunt may said.
Realistically - get into a group that does PK. My bet they also farm wildy bosses for fun as a team. We also protect some irons while they do content if they need to.
Chopping logs was an example of efficiency not location. Voidwaker is great for Iron pvm. Dragon Pickaxe is obtained fastest and most reasonably from wildy content. Wilderness slayer is fast low level slayer and has some perks. Medium-Hard CAs are best done through wildy bosses.
Ironman content is often taking the fastest route instead of the safe route. Jagex’s last rework to the wilderness forced Irons to go to wildy for several reasons because Pkers whine that they don’t have enough people to annoy with their bad ragging or sweaty teleblocks and freezes. (side tangent: remove freeze bags, mage level should be required)
You do realize that comments like these don't really help to improve the reputation of PKers? And insulting the wider community as you do on repeat here won't change anything other than make you even more unpopular.
Your comments just reinforce the image that all PKers have a superiority complex.
Besides, many would just avoid wildy if it was possible. Sadly it feels like 90% of all hard clue chains have atleast one clue in the wilderness. And it's not even that anyone is risking anything to do these.
But why the hell do you PKers love looting a single shovel this much? Because thats all any clue runner is risking. A single shovel worth 1 gp. All a kill on them does is be annoying and driving even more players away from the wildy. At the chaos altar there is atleast something to be said about risk/reward and PKers actually hunting there to gain anything.
Killing people running clues is senseless and only helps foster whatever superiority complex those PKers have. It's nothing more.
Like, I looked into PvP in Runescape at one point. People asking simple questions have been ridicouled into the ground by half the comments. At this point I'm almost certain Runescape PvP has somehow managed to become more toxic than LoL. That is an achievement in itself. Just to give one example: I've tried to look up how to counteract Ice Barrage freezes after some runins with high level PKers. What did I find as answers to almost every question of that kind that was asked?
"Get good noob"
"lol 80 magic is low level, go train"
"Cry harder"
What was NOT said in any of these: Mithril seeds, freezing/rooting and running into their space or any other helpful advice.
I wonder why noone is motivated to learn PvP. Couldn't possibly be this, right? \s
idk about your experiences in learning to PVP but simples things is get a few friends on RS and just go try it out idk.
Some people we PK with didn't know for longest time how to combo eat and we fought other teams with him. Only when he was sharing his screen someone noticed his inventory is just sharks.
Listen most PKers are just that - amateurs having fun.
And insulting the wider community as you do on repeat here won't change anything other than make you even more unpopular.
My comments won't change anything but this is realistically what is happening. Bunch of wimps crying about 100k in gold at max.
Sadly it feels like 90% of all hard clue chains have atleast one clue in the wilderness
Do you even do clues? Or do you even do wildy steps.
I literally don't remember when I was attacked doing a clue. It must be years at this point.
Clues are legit just not in spots that are common for PKers. Like only maybe 2.
The chaos altar one (but you approach it form outside and can easily world hop) and the rogues castle. That's it.
Like, I looked into PvP in Runescape at one point. People asking simple questions have been ridicouled into the ground by half the comments
Idk man. Just find people in game and chat about it I guess?... Watch a youtube video.
God thank you. I would have said it nicer but you're completely right.
I've gone from ~80 to 90 slayer nearly exclusively in the wilderness. I risk 100-500k in gear.
I have gotten killed by other players like... Less than 10 times. And a huge portion of those times have been in multi while getting blasted already by scorpia. Anyone who thinks the pker is at any kind of an advantage has to be so bad at this game.
Everyone who genuinely thinks pvmers (or even skillers ftm) are "loot piñatas" have gone to the wilderness exactly once with nothing but monk robes on, run straight into multi territory, and then hopped worlds until they found a team themselves.
Either that or they haven't actually done any wildy content at all. Ask me which situation I think is more likely.
Wilderness slayer cave - we don't even check below 30 line.
I'm gonna be hoesnt I only did bosses in wildy. never slayer but i imagine it's not that dangerous either. Except maybe scorpions taks or bears if you do the boss.

Pvp is one thing but they don't want fair fights so its PKing
