My issue with the wildy as a pvm player is largely the same as a lot of sentiments already expressed in this thread. For the people coming to pk me or others, it is so clearly largely not about having a pvp experience. When someone pops in wearing rag ass gear to kill players doing chaos altar as an example, they're pretty explicitly doing it just to ruin someone else's experience. They aren't in a pvp gear setup, they're just standing there with an addy crossbow "pking." They aren't looking for a fight, they're just being rude.
Some people enjoy pking. I remember being 12 trying to kill people with fire strike - anyone doesn’t matter if they were killing green dragons or pking.
It’s nostalgic for some and if you don’t like it that’s fine but that’s part of the wilderness and always has been
I don't dispute that it's part of the risk and part of the agreement upon entering the wildy. I understand that people enjoy pking as well. However, I would still argue that at the end of the day going and killing people doing clues, chaos altar, MA2, etc. hopefully realize that what they're doing is actively making things worse for the players seeking the aforementioned activities and generally for little to no benefit. We likely all know the meme of killing someone for a spade and that sums up my feelings on it fairly well. It would be tremendously different I think if the self-identified pker, as an example went out and killed someone skulled wearing a tbow versus someone who you can literally see is just passing through or trying to engage with the content
That is a false equivalence and while I suspect this low-effort response is more than likely just bait, I would like to point out that in this case someone else's idea of fun is shitting on another person's fun at the end of the day and I would hope that you and others can empathize a bit and see how something like this would leave a sour taste in someone's mouth and is largely where this whole debate stems from. I stated in another response that I understand that wildy content has inherent risk and that is part of the agreement one takes when dismissing the caution message upon crossing that ditch. What that unfortunately ends up meaning is that people mostly minding their own business end up getting fucked with by ill-intentioned people and I have a hard time believing anyone would not be able to see how that would ruffle some feathers.
