So I've been playing off and on for years but never got to the point I'm at now. My combat skills are low to mid 80s and I want to try out some of the content that has better gear. Problem is I keep putting off when I watch videos on how to complete raids and fight certain bosses. Most of these videos are geared for players that have gear from said raids and bosses.

When is a good point to comfortably complete things like TOA, TOB, Jad, COX, or even Nightmare? And are these things doable with cheaper gear?

Jad and TOB in the same sentence tells me you haven't grasped how difficult the game gets. (I personally can't do TOB yet. not trying to be a dick)

The gear helps and makes it faster but the end game PVM is difficult and requires skills that are best learned earlier on. People can do it with rags but only because they're incredible at the game.

Go around and get like 50 KC at all the early game bosses and go for the Combat achievements you can. Get your fire cape and try out the Gauntlet (doesnt require any gear or resources) Then keep progressing through the bosses. Get your quest cape. Thank you for the video and the info. It looks like his channel has a lot of good thing for me to watch. I'm going to start with Jad as I know I should have had a fire cape ages ago. After which I'm going to do SOTE for Gauntlet since theres no reasourse loss and it should help me with everything else.

sounds like a good plan! I would go for DT2 after that it's challenging but a ton of fun. I was also a very late fire caper because of Jad induced childhood trauma lol. my main tip for Jad is to kill him in the simulator a few times because once you can do it in the sim it's easy in game.

If you haven't done it yet Scurrius is a great boss to gind out because he helps you learn prayer switching and some movement which you will need to Jad and the Gauntlet.

we have a really great community of content creators and players that have made videos on absolutely everything so I always suggest watching guides if you're stuck on something because the game has a lot of inconsistent behavior.

yeah but honestly if they haven't really done any bossing it will probably just be more frustrating than it would helpful.

It isn't about the gear as much as your skill level. Jad can be done in complete budget gear with a rune crossbow and black dragon hide. It is how I did my first Jad kill.

Based on your question, ToB and Nightmare is off the table. ToA and CoX are a bit more reasonable to learn, but first you should do the new bosses that are meant to teach PvM mechanics. Do some Scurrius, Royal Titans, Mad Angel, and Perilous Moons first.

If you can do all those bosses, then perhaps do some of the harder quest bosses. Then there is Gauntlet and Corrupted Gauntlet which do very well at teaching PvM mechanics once you have learned the basics from the other bosses. Once you can do CG, most bossing is reasonable enough to learn.

You can do all of those things with a 1mil set up. Just need to get in there and learn. I'd start with Toa and jad, and then cox and tob and nightmare

Yes honestly TOB is the cheapest because the only armor you need is void

Just FYI ToB is considered the hardest, even low it has the lowest gear requirements. Not to say you shouldn't try it, as you 100% should. But CoX or ToA would be easier first raids.

Also in CoX when you die you just respawn and can run right back in. So its harder to mess up your team by dying.

Have you done moons/cg yet? That's a really good intro to pve mechanics. Moons is a lot easier than cg so you'll probably be able to just show up and start doing moons no problem and work on clicks, cg will take some doing if you haven't done much pve before. With that said though, cg is like a time chamber for your skills, you enter a boy and come out a man.

I've done a couple moons runs but have not completed SOTE for CG yet. Based on everyones advice I'm going to do Jad first then SOTE for the Gauntlet. Thank you for your reply.

Honestly the best piece of advice is to look for a clan/ppl willing to teach you.
If you want it to be a solo journey set your sights on the gauntlet. Will teach you plenty + bowfa/crystal will get you into toa + a bunch more bosses.

Everything is doable in cheaper gear. The mechanics are what's important. Just pick a boss and start learning. I'd suggest starting with easier bosses like moons or scurrius to get the hang of things before gradually stepping into harder content

Jad is definitely a solid goal. Scurrius can help you get the hang of switching prayers before doing fight cave runs too, but ultimately it comes down to what you want to do
