Yellowing fix help

Hi! Hi bought right now a animal crossing happy home new Nintendo 3ds xl with the box in good condition for a decent price and I just noticed that the screen is a yellow, I wanted to ask you if this was fixable without modding the console.

While leaving a console on a white screen for a long time does work, it won’t help this panel. It’s too far gone.

Lower panels are relatively easy to swap and not so expensive. That’s an option.

Seriously? I saw some reddits with way worst cases that got a good results. I just didn't want to mod it but I guess Ill do it at least for a try. Do you know if modding si reversible, like can I revert it to the original firmware?

I’ve done it a number of times but when the colour is deep like this, the benefit is lower. Just leave it powered on, full brightness, game notes app. Ive left one for a week or so before.

Either way it will help, but don’t expect it to go completely. Tbh you probably won’t really notice it most of the time, this is way less of an issue than you might think.

Modding it won’t really help - colour filters affect the whole screen, not a gradient.

Yesyes btw this is a photo from a different angle and it's seems better (at least the upper screen) I hope it is like this and maybe I could just replace the bottom one. I asked about the modding cause I saw that somebody uses mods to put a total white screen and a higher brightness but I will try without mods and see if it will help a bit. Thank you!

ok attach your 3ds to the charger and put the brightness to 5, then leave it there for 24h or 48h,

Liquid crystals can get 'lazy' if they aren't used for a long time. Forcing a bright white screen at max power gives them a giant electrical workout, forcing them to unstick and align properly again.

Aliexpress. Top is like 55-65$ and bottom is like 23-35$. They are hit or miss, sometimes rhey come damaged, sometimes 3D doesnt work or malfunction.

Either exchange the top and bottom screens, mod and color grade it or live with it as far as I know

LCD needs to be replaced. It probably had moisture trapped inside at one point.
