2DS Screen (Protector?)

So I've had my 2DS since I was around 5 and i can't exactly remember if I had put a screen protector on it or not, and I've been looking pretty much everywhere for a straight answer but haven't gotten one. Anyways, here's the 2DS (please excuse the damage.)

It looks like a screen protector to me. Try to use your nail in the bottom left corner

So it's either like really glued onto it, or im just horrendous at trying to take it off because it wont budge in the slightest.

Try very carefully with a razor blade, and perhaps also try using some isopropyl alcohol to dissolve the glue

Just to be clear, because I am making a bit of progress so far, this definitely wouldn't be part of the digitizer correct? But just to throw it in there, I do see the screen underneath the so called "screen protector."

The digitizer is located beneath the casing, so you shouldn't even be able to attempt to remove it

Accidentally cut my thumb a little bit, but it definitely worked! The old screen protector is off! Thank you so much, I thought I needed to replace the digitizer entirely. What kind of screen protector do you think I should get for it, a PET or tempered glass?
