Astartes t-shirt bleaching art

This time, it’s a new fashion trend straight from House xD

To be honest, I’m seriously considering switching to House T-shirts instead of C&A. The fabric is great in both, but this one from House was sooo nice to paint on! The material is almost like a canvas made for painting! Absolutely perfect!

It’s already Wednesday — have a nice week!😊

Looking for a second Imperial and xeno force to collect.

Upvotes

As the title says I am looking for two new armies to collect. I don't really play the table top. I just like collecting and painting. I also love the lore and have tons of the books and play the video games. I currently have Blood Angels because I love their lore and look but I am looking to get another Imperial force. I don't know which one to pick currently I can't decide between guard or custodes. Both look great and their new models look amazing! As far as xenos I have orks of course. Should I delve into leagues of Votann, Aeldari, or Necrons. Which ones would be the most interesting? Also I do plan on eventually playing some of these one day on the table top I am just not ready to take thar plunge yet. Thanks in advance for all the recommendations..

40K Playbook v1.2.0 Released

I've released the 3rd update to 40k-playbook.com

I created this because I love playing 40k, but I have a terrible memory for exactly when to use my unit rules, stratagems, and buffs. 40K Playbook is an app which allows you to either import your existing army roster or build it from scratch in the app, and turns it in to a turn-by-turn interactive flow chart showing you exactly which of your unit's rules apply on each phase of a turn.

This update contains a lot of fixes to rosz imports, as well as some nice new features. See the release notes on the home page for details. Thank you to all my supporters who have reported issues and made suggestions so far on my discord channel.

I've had a few of my posts deleted claiming 'AI slop', so I'd like to address this directly, since my attempts to contact the mods have not received a response.

This is not AI slop. I'm a professional programmer (AAA game dev) with 25 years experience. I spent weeks creating this app and thoroughly play testing it with my son, who also loves 40k. I worked on it in the evenings, alongside my job, primarily for my own pleasure (I love 40k, I love programming, I love spending time with my son). I've released 3 updates now, directly acting on community feedback and bug reports. I have my own discord which you are welcome to join to discuss features or bugs. Hopefully this proves to you that this is a maintained app being developed by someone who knows what they are doing, with a real development pipeline, rather than AI slop.

I do not use Vercel AI services. One mod previously took issue that this app was hosted on Vercel, who have received some bad press in the past about its AI services. What many don't know is that Vercel existed long before AI, as a website hosting platform, and a vast portion of internet sites that you use every day today are hosted by Vercel. I use that plain old, standard, non-AI, website hosting service of Vercel. I simply deploy my app to it, and it makes it available for you to browse to. That's it. Why did I pick Vercel? Because they are one of the only website hosting platforms who are big enough to offer a free tier for people like me, and I don't have a big budget to spend. Also because they have a top-notch staging pipeline for me to test the app before releasing new versions.

This post is not AI generated. I've just spent an hour during my lunch break typing it up, because I want to clear up the above. Just because I can use English grammar correctly, doesn't mean I've AI generated my post.

I stand to make no money from this app. It exists because I want to use it myself, I like giving back to others, and I believe that community coverage and feedback helps me to make it even better. I also think some of the other existing apps are clunky, built on old dev stacks that don't look pretty, filled with ads, and are missing this flow chart feature that is at the heart of my app.

I will continue to develop this app to perfection, and I really appreciate the support people have shown so far. I hope the mods allow me to keep this post up so that I can keep working on it with community support.

Ork painting tips

Hello all! I am new to the hobby, and have been working through painting a combat patrol of orks. Many of my friends play Kill team, and since I’ve already committed to orks I decided to purchase a Wrecka Krew. I’m thinking about theming them off my favorite band, Gwar.

TLDR:What do you guys think is the best painting method for orks, and is there any cheaper (possibly Canadian) paint brands?

Question on shooting through cover.

Watching this video;

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mJnsDpd5j9s&pp=ugUHEgVlbi1DQQ%3D%3D&ra=m

Time stand 34:40 onwards.

The guy falls back with his blade champ, off cover (at the end of his movement phase) so he can’t be over watched.

Can units not shoot through cover at all, even tho they can clearly see the unit?

Dreadnought primed and ready for paint

I prepped the primer by putting it in a bucket of warm water for ten minutes just to help thin it out abit aswell as gave the can a good shake for around 5 minutes after

Spraying I tried to be much closer this time appose to far away like my first attempt with the storm cast I found I got a much better result this time around there is definitely some grain texture here and there but no where near the same level as my first attempt this dudes panels are smooth enough

I did also notice after it had cured that there was minor orange peeling on the surface but this was an easy fix as I just gave the model a good brush down with a fine makeup brush which knocked away the blemishes

I'll admit ita a little intimidating as I wanted to go with impirial fists yellow/contrast iyadine yellow at this stage do I just have him a once all over with base pink and then go with the yellow once the pink has set? genuinely just looking for some help so I don't mess him up as this is intended as a desk display for my wife's late grandpa whom isn't with us anymore
